I started going to this clinic before 2000. I had been having some issues and nobody could figure…read moreout what the problem was. I went here in hopes of finding some answers and solutions. I was initially seen by Dr. Kevin Kempf and after various tests, x-rays, etc he was finally able to diagnose my condition. Unfortunately, Dr. Kempf moved on to his own office and my insurance didn't allow me to follow him. However, Dr. John Huff took over my case and was a godsend. I was under his care until he retired last year. At that time he sold his practice to Dr. Fernando Silva. After Dr. Silva took over, I assumed he would want to review my case on my first trip in to see him. However, he let his PA see me. Ok, well he will see me on my second trip. No. Again, he let his PA see me. He finally saw me on my third trip but he was less than interested in my treatment. I continued to stay with this office due to the infusion nurse Mary. She was awesome. Unfortunately, 2020 has brought us the pandemic and things went crazy. The night before my March infusion, Mary called to let me know that Dr. Silva was not letting any patients come to the offices for treatment. He was handling everything by phone. That's great, except you can't get an infusion over the phone! They made no plans on how they were going to take care of their infusion patients. Basically, they said "take care of yourself"! Then they had the nerve this week to call and ask if I needed an appointment. What a joke they are! Fortunately, I was able to get in to see Dr. Kempf in March and have happily been with him ever since. A review on his office will be posted soon. If you have need of a great rheumatologist, please stay away from Dr. Silva!

I moved from CA to TX and was nervous about starting up with a new rheumatologist. My PCP referred…read moreme to Dr. Silva and it's the best thing that could've happened for my health. I have history of Lupus Nephritis, and for once in a very long time it is being managed appropriately. Truly, I have never felt better! We're a great team, because let's be real, if you don't put in the effort as well, you'll never get better. I am finally off of prednisone and get better each time I see him. He is so professional, kind and he truly cares. He makes sure you understand everything before you leave. He doesn't rush your care and leaves plenty of time for questions. His office staff has also always been very kind to me. I thank God for bringing me to TX and to this wonderful Dr.

I have been seeing Dr. Joanne Murphey for a long time to help me deal with the emotional effects of…read morehaving an incurable, physically debilitating illness. Dr. Murphey has been extremely astute in her observations about the way the illness has impacted and limited my life. Her suggestions have been on target and her empathy has been off the charts. She has repeatedly gone above and beyond to help me any way that she could. Twice, when I was too ill to visit her office, she came to my home. When my brother was interested in getting a PhD in Clinical Psychology, Dr. Murphey took time off from her busy schedule to talk to him and recommend schools he could apply to. When I have needed an MD specialist, (rheumatologist or other) she has inquired among her own MD acquaintances to recommend an excellent one. I have recommended Dr. Murphey to several people for issues ranging from dealing with the death of a loved one to having a son struggling in school. Everyone I have recommended her to has been thrilled with both her abilities and her caring nature. I do not know what I would have done without her help, advice and support. I would highly recommend Dr. Murphey to anyone who needs a psychologist.

My experience with Dr. Murphey's child custody evaluation was extremely disappointing. Because…read morecustody evaluations can significantly affect a child's life, I believe evaluators should be accurate, thorough, and impartial. In my experience, this evaluation was not. Her report contained numerous factual errors, including referring to my son by the wrong name. During my home visit, Dr. Murphey fell asleep on my couch and later appeared not to remember important details of my case. The evaluation process also felt unbalanced. My son's father and his partner were interviewed multiple times for several hours, while I was given substantially less time. My witnesses--people who had firsthand knowledge of both my ex-husband's parenting and my own throughout our marriage--were never interviewed. Instead, individuals who had never met me were relied upon to offer opinions about me. I was also left with the impression that the information provided by the parties was not independently verified. Given the importance of these evaluations, I found that concerning. Ultimately, after hearing all of the evidence, the judge rejected Dr. Murphey's recommendation and awarded me primary custody of our son. That outcome reinforced my concerns about the reliability of the evaluation. After the case, I heard my ex-husband tell someone, "The custody evaluator I paid said she was an unfit mother, and the judge still granted her primary custody." I cannot verify whether his statement about paying the evaluator was true, but hearing him say it raised serious questions for me about the integrity of the process. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Dr. Murphey. I believe child custody evaluators have an enormous responsibility to families and to the courts, and my experience did not reflect the level of accuracy, diligence, or objectivity that such an important role requires.
