I will be super honest $15 for a Tuna Sandwich is steep but this is NY and it's an airport. The lady making the paninis was super sweet and the sandwich fed me on a 6 hour flight - what more can one ask for....the sandwich came with a pickle and kettle fries. I got a bottle of Path (water) and paid about $23 with a tip. Will I come back in a pinch - absolutely Yes! But seriously if I wasn't traveling on work I would have made my own PBJ and taken on the flight with me. read more

I guess CIBO Express encompasses a lot of things. There are packaged snacks to buy, drinks, etc. Those are what they are, and maybe you can complain about prices, but this is an airport after all. This review, however, is for the burger place where a lot of people are ordering from and waiting to get their orders as bags with names are pushed out on the counter. Okay, with that kind of turn over you would think everything would be coming out as fresh as fast food can be. I ordered the loaded tater tots thinking it would be a quick safe meal while waiting for yet another delay to pass. In all of my years on Yelp I do not believe I have ever experienced food so bad before. I couldn't even finish them. They were a soggy tasteless mess that made me nauseous. People make fun of me for eating plane food. Well, in this case I think the worst plane food I have had was still leagues better than this mess. Someone that was traveling with me had a burger that was equally awful. The other problem is that there is really no seating in the area. Well, there is IF you are buying drinks, but not for the express. This location had limited options for drinks and snacks. All the food was spread out across various small stations so it was hard to get a sense of all the options available. In some sections, they didn't even remove the items from their packaging and the pallets were in the middle of the aisles, blocking the way. I bought some grapefruit juice and it was pretty tasty. This review is for the CIBO in the center food court area in the middle part of Terminal C. Food is prepped while you watch. You order at one kiosk, and then move to the front counter and pay at a separate kiosk. Your name is called when it is ready. The food is packaged nicely in a leak resistant container, and placed inside of an easy to carry plastic bag. Perfect for taking onto your plane. Ordered a Buffalo Style Chicken Sandwich with fries. Woah! This thing was messy and so tasty. There was a lot of food here. The sandwich came out hot, and the fries were good and crisp, not soggy. This is rare for me to rate this low, but this was a miserable dining experience I know COVID plays a part in having the trained resources to do it right, but this low rating is mostly on Cibo. The burger was about the size of a slider, and it had a piece is avocado as an add for $195 that was a tiny sliver and it was not ripe in the middle of summer. The fries were mushy and not hot. Since it's all tablet driven orders and pay, there's no service rating. I'll add my photos and let you be the judge for my $16+ meal at the EWR airport. Had an awesome sandwich here while in Newark. Service was quick and food was fresh. My chicken parm sandwich was pretty substantial and came with a very tasty side salad. The salad doesn't look like much in the photo, but was very good. I loved the light dressing. The price was pretty low considering it is a NYC airport. They have a wide variety of fresh and made to order sandwiches along with salads and some other grab and go options. This location was in the United terminal and was quite busy when I was there. read more

While everyone wants to milk your data, this is clearly a step to track people who don't purchase goods; an attempt to sell you something in the future. This review is for the Cibo which is located in the center food court area in the middle part of Terminal C at EWR. Personally I liked this place. They had a huge amount of pre-packaged sandwiches and foods, yogurt, drinks, snacks, sundries and lots healthy options. What I liked most is that there are several self-service checkouts where you simply scan the bar codes of all the items you purchased, swipe your credit card and you're quickly on your way, with bags next to the checkout and a small bar area with condiments, napkins, straws and the like...So you can purchase whatever you want here, check yourself out and not have to interact with any (sometimes less than friendly and energetic) service staff at all! Cibo Express also has things like soft serve ice cream (possibly frozen yogurt, I'm not sure) which can be weighed at the self-service checkouts and paid for there as well. On this day I got a Cibo Italian wrap sandwich which was $9.49, a bottle of orange juice which was $3, and a bottle of water which was $2.19. The sandwich wasn't worth the cost, but overall their foods were priced OK for airport fare and considering the convenience of this place. read more

Their ordering system is terrible! My flight was at 6:55am and this place has about 6 customers, but orders took forever cause these cashier systems are a hassle! They're exactly like grocery scanners, and only ONE of them takes cash. I think they're more than adequately staffed to have one of them ringing customers up. They do however have a decent selection of items and the blueberry muffin was pretty good..but it took em a cool 10 minutes to bring out my tea. You have 3-4 employees hanging around, a line full of disgruntled customers and you cant put some hot water and drop a bag in? My wife started walking into this business a few days ago, while we were walking through Terminal C at Newark Airport. She was stopped by an employee before even entering, who asked for her credit card. She asked "Why?" and was told they don't let anyone in the store unless they FIRST provide their credit card information (even if no purchase is made). Potential customers are required to insert a credit card into one of their machines before a turnstile will even let them in. Whether you buy anything or not, they have your credit card information. Not a chance my wife would agree to this, nor would I. Easy way to get your credit card compromised or identity stolen. read more

Cibo Express is a waste of money. The coffee is horrible, the food is inedible. I would highly recommend eating elsewhere in Newark airport. All the breakfast options seemed pricey $25+ in Newark so I came here because it was cheaper and quick. Note that I said cheaper, it wasn't that cheap. A coffee and sandwich will easily set you back by at least $10. There is an ipad where you can order sandwiches. I ordered an egg white omelette, which they claimed they didn't have. So I ordered an egg sandwich. They messed up my order, they didn't put the right cheese. The eggs were so burnt, it was like eating tasteless dry hard yellow crap. It was gross. Even though I was starving, I didn't finish my sandwich. The cashier wasn't even there, everyone had to wait for her to come so that they could pay. So, I travel via plane every week. I mean every week and 90% of the time I fly via Newark International. Recently it seems the whole terminal C has been given a facelift in terms of the shops and restaurants. I absolutely hate the changes. The cheap veneer of white laminate furniture is already starting to look worn and damaged. The shops which used to serve all necessity items for a busy traveler (like me, licorice, chips, Swedish fish, etc, ) have all been replaced by some wacky gluten-free, organic pile of pre-packaged granola. I mean no licorice is sin against humanity in terms of air travel snack preparedness. You blew it whoever owns these shops. You lose hundreds on me now, can only imagine that other normal eaters are skipping your stands as well. Guess things will turn back to more gluten soon. End of rant. read more

I ordered two quesadillas. Took 31 minutes! And the cook was in front of me, using maybe10% of the cooking area available to her and slowly cooking one order at a time while a dozen of us waited. Even when the order was ready she would walk very very slowly to grab the container and assemble before calling the number. It was past incompetence and despondency, it looked like this awful person was doing this on purpose and could not care about hurried airline passengers. On the counter next to this one I could see a dozen ready orders with numbers in the 300's and 400's (mine was 819) that were there getting cold - evidently people who had got tired of waiting - or had a plane to catch - and just left orders behind. Pro-this place is convenient. I like, in general, what EWR has done to increase the number of options to chose from while in the terminal. Con-pricing-that's true for almost anything you buy (take out/to go/convenience, or even sit down) in an airport. The only thing that isn't a complete rip off is Starbucks, because their pricing lines up with what they charge in stores (and that's already too much). Not too bad for airport foods. This is the place to go to for lighter fares. All type of salads, sandwiches, wraps, suchi, yogurts, and drinks are available. There are also vegan selections. We ate dinner here while waiting for the United Airline plane to be fixed. I got a turkey with Gorda on rye. It actually had good taste. My daughter picked up a house salad. The vegetables were fresh. Definitely will buy again for on plane meal since our plane will not serve dinner. read more

I am at the sit down CIBO by gate C113. There are no power outlets like at other similar restaurants in the terminal. iPads are barely charged at 15-20% and do not seem to have enough bandwidth to connect to the Internet. The music is a bit overwhelming so not the best place for a business traveler. The menu is ok, with a heavy representation of middle eastern specialties. The butternut squash soup is watery and tasteless. I couldn't eat it. Right now, an employee is standing by the coffee station and using a lint roller to clean her uniform. No coffee for me!! A rugged traveler walks in and asks to refill her huge water jug. Instead of giving her a glass of water the waiter just takes her jug and fills it up.
