As soon as I walked in, I was immediately greeted by Kenny, He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely one of the best people I've met in a shop like this. The place itself is impressive, especially the large humidor room. I asked Kenny for a recommendation since I always like trying something new, and he pointed me toward a great cigar. I was planning to head back to my hotel or a park to smoke it, but Kenny let me know that smoking isn't allowed in town and invited me to use their lounge instead. The lounge had a great atmosphere super welcoming. I met a couple of friendly people and ended up chatting with Chase, a local business owner. Before I knew it, I had spent a couple of hours there. I also walked out with a new Xikar lighter that Kenny recommended, which was a great call. I'll definitely be coming back every time I'm in town. Highly recommend stopping in if you're in Paso.

The cashier used to be a shorter guy who looked like he would be more suited to selling protein shakes at the GNC next door. I did consider it was just in my head, but he never seemed thrilled to help me and would look me up and down. This tobacco shop was one of the very few that closed for a while during covid because it was "not-essential." It's a bold decision to stand between folks and their nicotine fix... other shops were more sensitive to the issue and considered themselves "essential businesses" and stayed open while being safe. Anyway, I saw that Tobacco Mart was open at 8am while I was out and about, and so I decided to go in for a usual product. The cashier was all over the place and basically shared their Narc Anon testimony and spoke very negatively about the product I was buying. They seemed excited at the prospect of products being banned. Awkward is an understatement. It's like going to the liquor store and having the cashier tell you about how alcohol ruined their life and they can't wait until another prohibition. Sobriety is important, but so is the time and place to share. Also, harm reduction IS sobriety, if we want to get in it. Which I don't as a customer at 8am in the morning. So although they are open convenient hours, I will surely NEVER set foot in there again. They also charge 36% more than Wild Side! Wild Side gives fat discounts and never judges.
