Excellent Thai food meal here before a recent concert, and within easy walking distance. Space is open, airy and bright. Server was cordial but service was on the slow side. For a meal, my wife and I shared a bunch of dishes, as we normally do...crab Rangoon, chicken satay, pad Thai and a massaman curry with tofu. Each plate had the flavors I'd expect and felt hot and fresh upon delivery to the table. We savored every last bite, then it was off to EW&F!!!

We had an excellent birthday dinner for my daughter at Cilantro. Great atmosphere, great service and fantastic food. We had a party of 6 and shared many great appetizers and sushi. This wasn't our first time here, but it is my time leaving a review. Cilantro is a Downtown Akron staple and top notch food. Give them a try, you will not regret it. They do take reservations.

Great ambiance. Very delicious food and creative cocktails. Beware spice level is high even at the low levels. The Tom Yum soup was one of the best I've had lots of shrimp. Thai spiced had lots of veggies and chicken and shrimp but level three spice was too hot for me and I like spice. My friend had the green curry with scallop and she loved it.y husband enjoyed the Pad Thai. Great service too. $5 happy hour martinis too. Even at the table not just the bar.

I visited Cilantro for sushi and sake tasting during Akron Sakura Festival. I found this restaurant to be mediocre. The restaurant has a big bar, multiple spaces perfect for big parties/events, and sushi bar. Sushi was pretty disappointing. It tasted dry, not the freshest catch. It did not taste like restaurant quality meal. Sake was good and offered by local distributor. The space is very humble in terms of ambiance. The restaurant is conveniently located in downtown Akron. Wait staff was friendly. Overall I just wasn't wow'ed. Helpful recommendations: -Bring cash if you want to save. All transactions have 4% processing fee. -The restaurant is closed between lunch and dinner 2-5 PM -Parking is available on the street and Lock 3 parking is a short walk away

We went in for some classic Thai noodle dishes and they were excellent - fresh, flavorful, steaming hot. I like that they tailor the spice level consistently based on your 1-to-5 preference. Beer prices are a little high. The restaurant is beautiful inside and very spacious and the service was energetic and friendly.

Start of the show: Duck Curry and Lychee Martini - this savory sweet pairing stole the night. All the ingredients were fresh and delicious. The duck skin was crisp and the meat was tender. I got mine on a 2 spice although next time I'll go for a 3 or 4. Honorable mention: spicy muscles- for the price you get a good amount and they are cooked with spicy mayo- they have a full body flavor and a great light appetizer. Martinis: The Pomegranate Blueberry tasted like perfume, it was not ideal to get my buzz on. The lychee martini was amazing, great subtle flavor. Disappointing: the mango sticky rice- they rice was stale and the mango was not ripe at all. You can skip it. All in all we will be back- I will skip the drinks and dessert, but indulge in the appetizers and entrees. Service was good and the ambience was aromatic and casual with a hint of flare.

Went to Cilantro last night for a double date, and this place did not disappoint! We decided to split a sushi boat for two among four people, and it was more than enough food. Of course, we ordered a few extra items on the side, and everything was absolutely awesome. The service was great--attentive, friendly, and made us feel right at home. We requested a table towards the back, which was perfect for a more relaxed atmosphere. The front of the restaurant feels a bit like you're on display, and sitting further back gave us the space we were hoping for. If you're looking for great sushi, great service, and a comfortable setting, I'd highly recommend Cilantro.

WOW! I cannot stop talking about this place, this was the best thai food I have ever had. This was an unplanned visit and just stopped in for some dinner and it was EXCEPTIONAL. the starters were incredible. order the thai garlic wings and the beef salad and you will not be dissapointed. there was SO much flavor it was incredible. the thai beef noodle soup was something like I have never had before. the broth and everything in it was unbeatable, and i left the place planning my next visit just so i could have it again. the cilantro garlic house special stirfry was amazing, all the veggies were still crunchy and not soggy from sauce. so flavorful. the black pepper chicken sauce dish was incredible as well. everything was just so delicious. the staff was so friendly and there was a lot of seating and the place was beautifully decorated. I WILL be back here the next time I am craving some thai food or honestly just want a flavorful meal. I have told lots of friends and family members about this place since my visit. just know that street parking may be required since it is located right off a busy street, but definitely worth finding a spot and walking a couple minutes if needed :)

A very pleasant surprise! The location, appearance, service, and especially the food get my 5 star rating! The lunch size portion shown in my photos of their Basil Stir Fry was simply perfection! We attended an Exposition in Akron and took a break which ended in a really pleasant surprise, thank you! My compliments to the Chef!!!

Not a big portion of Massaman curry

I ordered two appetizers and two meals, one for lunch one for dinner, flavor was OK. Just disappointed with the portions. Edamame was also a little too small for the price. The most disappointing size was the Mamon curry pictured below. Do you think I'd already eaten half of it, but that's how it came.

My wife and I have eaten here a few times now. Let's start with the sushi because the quality of the fish has been the absolute best I've found in the region and at a "good but not expensive" price point. They consistently hit the right notes to be a step ahead for the area even on the basics like a tuna or California roll. That is just the start though. Because they exceed expectations on the complexity they offer as well and bring those presentations off with a conservative mix of surprise and innovation! The other thing I have to mention is the Thai. Authentic enough that they don't mind surprising guests with that cilantro magic and signature uniqueness. They also bring that same consistency from the Sushi Bar with their curries and other Thai staples. Absolutely the best Panang Curry (drizzle some on your California roll!) I've found in the area too. The atmosphere is warm and modern with a tasteful "closet kitschy". Walk in the door and it's the nice enough to be good and humble enough not to break the wallet. Lastly, the staff! Welcoming without overbearing. Eager and helpful with authentic pleasure. The staff is as fabulous to dine with as the food is to eat!

Found this restaurant on a short trip to Akron, as we had a taste for sushi & Cocktails. Great choice. We had crab Rangoon, garlic wings, spicy octopus & several sushi rolls - all good. And cocktails! The Thai tea w Bailey's & Kahlua might be my new favorite dessert cocktail. Very open & space-y, comfortable seating, great for conversation. Waitress was friendly, good service.

So my food experience was probably more of a 1 but if you get to stop by their market, I was happy with the goodies and groceries I found. Like a couple of people said, this place was haphazardly run for sure. There was only one worker for the market and the restaurant. Even though there was only 1 other table of people plus my party (4 people), it seemed to be too much to handle for the 1 worker. Service was super slow, he couldn't really answer any questions and nothing really met expectations. The menu was the worst one I had ever seen in terms of misspellings and wrong pictures and inaccuracies and I'm comparing it to other Asian menus that tend to get some typos every once in a while. This menu never had one complete line without a couple of typos...which, you know, if the description and picture were accurate enough, it still wouldn't have mattered. There were multiple pictures of their pad thai dish that looked like a thin eggy crepe on top of stir fried noodles--extremely appetizing. Server said off the bat that nope, the dish does not look like that at all. Okay...fine but then please get a different picture. I ordered the Egg Noodles soup that clearly listed: Egg noodles with scallion, carrot, cilantro, mushroom, ground chicken, ground pork and ground beef. Literally none of those items were in my dish except for a few strips of carrot. The "egg noodles" were the cheap vermicelli clear noodles, no ground beef but really stringy, tough pieces of leftover beef and only celery pieces instead of mushrooms, cilantro, scallions. It was completely different. Server offered no explanation to the differences nor a discount or anything... Someone ordered the baso (basil) fried rice and it looked amazing. The other 2 in my party ordered chicken pad thai which looked really corn starchy and pink instead of the more natural brown sauce I'm used to at better Thai restaurants. Nope, not coming back here!

The only missing element was some background music to enhance the ambiance. The quiet atmosphere felt a bit awkward, especially since it was just us and another family on a Sunday night. To remedy this, I played some soothing piano music from Spotify on my phone. I would definitely come back again!

It is also open on Mondays unlike many other restaurants in the area. The restaurant has a very cute mural outside. Inside it's very colorful and has cute Thai art on the walls. It's definitely a place that looks authentic. I read the menu while inside and it had so many choices including cocktails and many food options. Many choices for any taste! I was really looking forward to trying Thai food here. Unfortunately, I ended up walking in and out due to disappointing service or the lack thereof. When I walked in (almost at 7 PM), there was a long line of diners that were not acknowledged. They were confused and asking each other where to wait and who will take their table reservation. It was very unclear where the hostess is, where to pick up orders, or wait for a table. The restaurant is very small and was overpacked on a Monday night. I had to wait an extremely long time right in front of the hostess to be acknowledged. The wait time for a table was 45 minutes to 1 hour. The wait for to go order was also 45 minutes. I would probably wait but it was scorching hot inside despite it being it being the 70's outside. I was hoping that the service would be more attentive. My suggestion to anyone visiting is to figure out a time when they're not busy. The food is probably very good, but get ready for not so good service and extended waits.

As someone who has visited Thailand and is familiar with Southeast Asian flavors, I found that the dishes here leaned much sweeter than how it's traditionally made, but they were still good. We tried the Boat Noodles and Khao Soi, both very flavorful. The portions are good but I find that both needed much more broth. It's a cute space, plus great cocktail and mocktail options
