From the moment I arrived in the Emergency Department through my surgery, recovery, transport, and discharge, every member of the team treated me with professionalism, compassion, and genuine kindness. The level of care I received was truly above and beyond excellence. I would especially like to recognize several individuals who made a tremendous impact on my experience: Nurses Lila Labou, Julie, and Taylor (15T6L) were absolutely outstanding. They were attentive, compassionate, knowledgeable, and always willing to take the time to answer questions and make me feel comfortable. Their kindness and reassurance helped ease my anxiety during a very stressful time. They exemplify what nursing excellence should look like. I would also like to recognize my surgeons, Dr. Leslie More and Alexander K. Saba. Their expertise, confidence, and communication gave me complete trust in my care. They took the time to explain procedures, answer questions, and ensure I understood my treatment plan. I am incredibly grateful for their skill and dedication. In addition, I want to thank the transport staff, laboratory personnel, surgical team, recovery staff, and the many other caregivers whose names I unfortunately did not capture. Every interaction reflected teamwork, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to patient care. What could have been a frightening and overwhelming experience became one where I felt supported, respected, and cared for every step of the way. The entire Good Samaritan Hospital team demonstrated excellence in both clinical care and compassion. Thank you for providing such exceptional healthcare. Please know that the work you do matters, and it makes a profound difference in the lives of your patients and their families. I will always be grateful for the outstanding care I received. With sincere appreciation, Jill L.

I was in this hospital for several days because of a severe kidney infection, and overall my care…read morewas excellent. I had gone to my normal doctor's office and a doctor there recommended I go to the hospital to get an ultrasound to see if I had kidney stones. The ER wait was very very long, but I was told almost immediately that a severe emergency was going on next door to me so I have no complaints about that, it was out of their control. Everyone I interacted with was incredibly sweet and patient... except for the two women that gave me my CAT scan. When I first came in one of them wouldn't stop asking me why I hadn't gotten a pregnancy test yet (I never turned one down, the other nurses I spoke to had just agreed with me it was unnecessary) and kept telling me there was no way I could know for a fact I wasn't pregnant if I was sexually active. She kept saying she wasn't going to do the CAT scan until she knew I wasn't pregnant and wouldn't let up until I finally told her I was in a lesbian relationship, to which both of them got noticeably uncomfortable and annoyed. After I got my CAT scan the one that was talking to me saw I had an IUD and demanded to know why I had it. When I said "it's birth control?" she looked at me like I had tricked her, I corrected "it's for maintaining my periods" and she ROLLED HER EYES AT ME. All of this was happening while I had a SEVERE KIDNEY INFECTION and was in some of the worst pain I've experienced in my life. A healthcare professional of all people should know that birth control isn't just for preventing pregnancy. I cannot stress enough that every other person I interacted with was a delight and made me feel cared for, but the unprofessionalism and quite frankly *homophobia* I was treated with by those two women was inexcusable. I didn't get their names, sadly. However! I did get the names of all my nurses throughout my stay -- Abigail, Antonia, and Tamala in unit C2 as well as Leslie, Kim, Tiffany, and Diane in unit C5 were all absolute angels to me and they all deserve raises. Those seven women are the only reason this isn't a one-star review.

The front desk, the lady who took information and the person who did the IV were all very kind and helpful. I won't fault the ER with the fact that there was a family not parenting their child allowing her to run all over the place, rolling on the dirty floor and jumping on the furniture but the wait was horrid. I was finally taken back and hooked up to monitors and tested. The dr was very kind and apologetic for the wait. After my scan I had to use the bathroom and had to call three times basically begging for help. I was tethered so needed a nurse. I thought I was going to pee the bed. I was discharged and told I could leave with my paperwork dropped on the bed. I got to the hallway and followed the exit signs only to end up in the lobby that was closed. I was in pain, medicated and exhausted so decided to move the gate and exit through the closed lobby. Of course a policeman saw me and was upset that I used a closed part of the hospital. I have used this ER before and it seems that it is normal practice to just release people without making sure they can find their way out. I realize there are exit signs but they don't help when parts of the hospital are closed. How about the nurse getting patients to the exit? After being there for nine hours, in pain, medicated and exhausted a little help would have been appreciated
