I can be "particular" (picky) about some things and whenever I brought up a question or concern, no matter how small, she never dismissed it or tried to excuse it as something I didn't need to worry about. But if you want someone who can get you the best price for your place, handle all the mucky-muck of buying and selling, and still manage to meet you at a property at 8 AM in the morning (because that is absolutely the only time you have available), you better call Lorette. Real estate isn't just a weekend hobby for her. It's her life. It all starts with a visit to your home. There, she'll asses the value of your place, suggest some inexpensive updates, and even offer some staging ideas. Depending on the state of your home (ours was looking pretty dated), your property could be ready for listing in as early as a week. Or in our case, as late as a month. As you might assume, it's a lot easier to sell a home when no one is living in it. Unfortunately, we didn't have that option, so Lorette had to work around our busy schedules. That meant hiding all of our personal belongings at a moment's notice (for those sudden showing requests), and actually making our bed every day, like civilised people. All the while, we were in the process of figuring out where we wanted to buy our next home. That meant having Lorette arrange for showings of multiple properties in a lot of different areas, including Lakewood, Downey, Cypress, Artesia and various areas of Long Beach (which is not a small town). Making things even more difficult was the fact that any offer we made on a new home had to be contingent on the sale of our current home.
