Both don't chip or break until I need to go in because of the growth of my nails. The first time I went in, I tried doing gel on my real nails but some would break (which they fix for free). So one of the ladies suggested powder overlay, on my real nails, for a stronger nail. The grow out of the overlay can put a line/ dent in your real nail and you can see it. So then they suggested pink and white powder. My nails are so strong now, I'm very hard on them but they look awesome. They can hold up for weeks if I can't find time to get them done. My pedicure can last a month, as long as I get them cut short. There are many upgrades since a few years ago. Like the way they do pedicures with a plastic liner, to the new way they sterilize the tools/ one use tools. I have found my nail salon and this is it!

They have three small rooms upstairs for a message. The rooms are painted is warm neutral colors with 'spa' music playing softly. The oils they use smell wonderful. I was truly relaxed after my message at Elm. The Pedicure was equally inviting. The nail technician was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. I liked the lotion they used so much I bought some! The only down side was they did not have a lot of colors to choose from for nail service. If they had a broader selection I would have given Elm 5 stars.

I called ahead, and they were able to get me in for a pedicure in about an hour, which worked perfectly for me! Found out this place was recently purchased by Red Nails down the street.
