To walk into a movie theater for an 8pm movie, see all of the staff standing around in a huddle talking, be given cold popcorn that was scooped out of a large trash bag sitting in the popcorn machine, and having the young girl pour a large amount of butter directly from a gallon jug reminds me why I don't frequent this theater. Oh yeah, did I mention there were 5 cop cars parked outside when we pulled up?! I think I'll continue to travel to Tucson. read more

Went to the movie to see the new ghostbusters at 7 on 29 mar 2024, was assaulted by a bunch of young adults who talked through the movie, my girlfriend asked them to stop talking during the movie, they proceeded to complain making fake claims against us, my girlfriend was kicked out because they didn't want to hear our side of the story, piss poor management, would not recommend because apparently it's ok to be disrespectful at the movie theater, they especially do not respect disabled vets, the situation triggered my PTSD and the staff was NOT accommodating For the managers/ owner reading this: our seats were k12-14, I'm curious did that group behind us actually purchase tickets or did someone on staff let them in for free? read more

I've noticed that there are no recent reviews, probably because nothing is done to resolve the issues, but you should be warned. I realize that, during Covid, the refill policies at theatres was suspended, but I also noticed that the prices still continued to creep upward ($8 popcorn and $7 drink is ridiculous) But now, all the theatres in Tucson have reinstated their refill policy, making the prices a little more tolerable. The Cinemark 10 in Sierra Vista has failed to do so. Either reinstate the refill policy or reduce the cost. Until then, I'll drive to Tucson for my theater experiences read more

I guess when you're in a small town, beggars can't be choosers. But, to be honest, my theater experience wasn't that bad. Here in town for a work trip, I thought I'd catch up on my Marvel Cineverse and Cinemark was just the place to do it. Cinemark is located on the northwest side of The Mall of Sierra Vista. The mall itself is in a sad state of slow decline; but, that would be the case in many small-mid-size towns and cities. It wasn't hard to locate it it, as it's entry is right next to the food court. That there's was no one at the ticketing box office kinda threw me off. But, signage in the darkened room stated I can buy my movie ticket at the concession stand. Weird...but, okay. That will be the cash register to the furthest right and to my understanding, you would have to do a separate transaction for your food. I couldn't just buy it all, at once. Anywho, one ticket for a 4:10pm showing of Captain Marvel at around $5 and change was a good deal. Ordering the Angus hot dog and the nachos and large drink combo was an additional $15. That was expected and on par, in regards to cost. The two staff members that assisted me were extremely friendly and helpful. One of them even went so far as to open the doors to the theater for me, when she saw that my hands are full. Much appreciated. The theater itself was clean and it was nice to see that the seats looked fairly new. Definitely not real leather, but the faux leather look was pretty sturdy and comfy, with a nice recline. It was just me and two other guys, so having the entire theater to ourselves was a nice treat. Overall, a great experience in my book. Way better than my last solo movie outing at the Harkin Theatre Metrocenter 12 in Phoenix, where I watched Black Panther. read more

Literally every time we come here we have some kind of bad experience. Today, the popcorn is cold. I mean, room temp, and that's going easy on them. They are in the middle of afternoon matinee time, and they have ONE hot dog on the warmer. "We can microwave you one. Otherwise it'll be 30 minutes." They now sell some salsa but absolutely nothing to dip in it. What is the point? If you ask them to just sell you a bag of their chips for nachos, they refuse saying it has to be sold as nachos. So, why are they selling salsa?! So, why do we keep coming back? We haven't been here in months, but it's a pain to drive all the way to Tucson for something we're supposed to have here. But, hey! At least it wasn't 5000 degrees in there today! Here's a tip: don't go from May-October. You could possibly faint or worse from the heat inside the theater during those months! Rogue One rocks. Cinemark Theatres suck. Hotter than Hell, and out of focus. Could not enjoy the movie's conclusion as the physical torture of almost three hours in Cinemark's cheap-ass ghetto seats eclipsed my desire to see events I'd wanted to see on the big screen for forty years. It's your standard stadium seating, run of the mill movie theater located at your local mall. It's kept clean, and well maintained. No major issues. Staff is always polite and foot traffic/crowd is not heavy -medium at the most, even on opening day for movies. Movie choices lack though! Some of the top movies somehow miss this movie theater and are shown at the lesser/not so well kept theater a few miles down the road. Funny thing is... They both fall under the same company/distributor. Update: Well maintained. You can ALWAYS find a good seat. // cons: this for all movie theaters- cost going up on everything. Popcorn is outrageous. I am the kinda girl that who is spoiled. This theater is ok. It just needs updated. Seats were ok. Somewhat tight. My son and I went to see the new Bourne movie and when I sat down the lady next to me made this bitchy sound and breathed hard like she was really annoyed. Had the feeling she was spoiled too lol. I read the Yelp review before going. Because we are used to the new cinemarks with reclining chairs. Or even ipic where they serve you and you have pillow and blanket. Most reviews complained about the price of popcorn. I don't care about that. I have seen about a dozen movies here in the past 18 months. Really glad that Sierra vista has this nice of a movie theater. The staff is courteous, the food is good and the theaters is usually empty (thank you to po-dunk Sierra vista for that one). read more

Not bad for a small theatre. The theatres are never crowded. The o my thing I don't like about this place besides the uncomfortable chairs is that you have to go to the snack bar to buy your tickets. Certainly not the best movie theatre I've been to and it's unfortunate that if you live in the area, you don't really have a choice. I don't live in Sierra Vista anymore so it had been a while since I've been to Cinemark but I was surprised with the changes they made since the last time I had gone. The snack bar seems impressive, with many more options than I remember, and they 'upgraded' their seating. I use the term 'upgraded' lightly, since it feels more like office chairs than anything else. Not very comfortable and lacking in leg room. I suppose I've been spoiled living in an area where reclining seats and reserved seating is the norm. One of the only redeeming factors for this theatre is that they're listed as a Moviepass theatre! read more

Was excited to go to the movies tonight...first time in 7 months, had my son in his car seat already sleep, we purposely went late so not too many people were there. When we get there Sarah, oddly the manager, who clearly shows lack of leadership and professionalism, announces that we are not allowed to see the movie "Neighbors," a rated R movie because we have our son who is under 6. Come to find out it is to accommodate people without children who don't want to have any distractions during the movie. Nice to know Cinemark has Sarah to help enforce this accommodation. Where does that leave people like us who don't have a sitter and specifically wait to see the latest movie, knowing that there are less people, especially in shytty S.V. Thanks to Sarah she let me know that I could come earlier in the day. Thanks Sarah I'll quit my job so I can do that. read more

The theater is decent, is in good repair, and has stadium seating. The sound was great...overwhelming at times. I saw a film in 3D and they offer student and military discounts. My popcorn was overdone and I think they dumped all the bottom kernels in my bag-but who wants to go back to concessions in the middle of the film? Went to hand my retired military ID & the clerk ("Employee SCAIN" on receipt) told me "only active military get the discount." When I asked when that policy had changed she replied "over a year ago." Funny, I've been here a few times since I retired a year ago & never had this issue before. My friend produced her ID & we said another person was active & she still charged me for three full price tickets & one military for $31.50. When I asked to scan my Cinemark app she said I needed to have to ready for her before I charged my card, then frustrated asked for my email address so a manager could credit me. Three days later & I still don't have any credits. This experience was unlike the Park Place Cinemark in Tucson who had no issues waiting while they talked me through the app details, waited for me to download & credited me before I even made it to concessions, even after having already paid. They also have always given a military discount for both me & my brother, despite me being the only retiree. After another $29 in concessions, we got crammed into the tiniest theater I've ever had the displeasure of squeezing into. The room was hotter than hades & made for expensive discomfort. This location consistently has issues with its restroom, lacking soap or dryers that actually dry. Seating is ok, but noticed more & more chairs with caution tape on them due to a lack of repair. The employees are friendly enough for the most part, but paying $60 for an uncomfortable experience is only acceptable if you can't make it outta the SV, otherwise head to the Old Pueblo for cheaper tickets, better service & maintained facilities. read more

This is the only decent place to watch a movie in town. I like that it's cheaper than Tucson/Phoenix. It is somewhat confusing when you try to purchase your tickets, though. Sometimes they are set up in the box outside of the theater, and sometimes you have to go all the way inside to the concession stand to get your ticket. It's not a huge deal, but for a first-timer it can be a bit confusing. read more

Poor projection equipment. The picture is dark and looks out of focus too often. Cheap theaters purposely use low luminosity projection bulbs to save them money. Often experienced sound at unbearable high levels. Go elsewhere! read more

I went to see the new Star Trek movie at a 2:00 showing on a Thursday. I was told by the box office clerk that the A/C was broken and it was currently 80 degrees in the theater. After picking up my jaw from the ground, the clerk asked me if I was "okay with that". Uhhh, no, heat exhaustion is not in my movie going experience. I told her, "Forget it" and walked away. Later, I thought, why doesn't this theater move Star Trek to another theater and get rid of "The Croods". Who the hell is going to watch "The Croods" on an afternoon matinee on a Thursday? Cinemark's restriction on the size of the purse you can bring in is a terrible policy. I had to leave my purse in the car and carry my wallet, glasses, phone and keys with me into the theater. The manager who told me that my purse was too large was not even nice about it. No apology for the ridiculous policy. I wouldn't say my experiences there have been outstanding, but their prices are cheaper than the larger ones in Tucson and they keep it reasonably clean (by movie theater standards; the later showings of popular films will absolutely have a certain funk to them). A very mediocre place. You get what you pay for. I guess you really can't complain, but hey it's my money and I expect more for it.

There are only two theaters in Sierra Vista. This one is located inside the mall. The lobby is large. The restrooms were clean. The popcorn was good and fresh. The theaters have nice stadium seating. I've been here a few times over the years and never had an issue. Given the other option in Sierra Vista, I prefer this theater. The one thing I really like is that they have an additional snack bar located down the hall where all the theaters are so that you don't have to go all the way back out to the lobby to get something. I do love the movie pictures of old movie stars on the walls, Laurel and Hardy and Clark Gable to name a few. It evokes a nice nostalgic feel. The last time I was here the movie lost it's sound in the middle and they had to stop it and start it again. I hope they don't have that issue often. I'm sure I will be back the next time I visit my family in Sierra Vista. read more

I think most Cinemarks deserve a 3 or a 4 star rating. This is the best theater in town. Not a difficult thing to be when you're competing against the terrible theater that rhymes with Uptown. Sure, this place has its occassional problem, but all theaters do. And management seems to be rather attentive at rectifying any problems that you may have. Whether its an issue with the projector or sound. They're quick to give refunds if they can't satisfy your complaint. That alone makes this place deserve 4 stars in my book. It's clean. And it has the best screens and sound in town. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is due to better theaters being out there in Tucson, a mere one hour drive away. All in all, this is the best Sierra Vista has to offer. So, help them out and boycott the other one in town. Also, they have a much better arcade with air hockey and pinball games. Go ahead and call me a spoiled Californian, but this is one of the worst theaters I have ever been in. First of all, I bought my ticket for the midnight Harry Potter several days in advance to ensure I had a seat to sit in, but upon arrival to the theater, my friends and I discovered that they had over sold tickets for our showing and had to move to another theater to see the movie. There was no apology, no explaination, no form of compensation.They seem really disorganized and ill-equipped to handle a large crowd of people. The theater we were moved to had a later start time. The screen had a large wrinkle in the middle- not that it mattered, because by the time we were moved to the second theater and found seats we were so close to the screen we were practically extras in the movie itself. The whole theater and lobby smelled really strange. I'm not talking about too many people stuffed in a tight space smell, I'm talking about a bad combination of cleaning products, air fresheners and concession food. Thankfully the bathroom was acceptably clean. I venture to guess that I will at some point return to this theater, becuase unfortunately there are few other options for theaters in this town. read more
