Cinemark is a great theater experience. From the lobby to the theaters themselves, they hit the mark. When you enter the box office area you will notice that 99% of the time there are enough open windows to keep the lines low especially during high volume times. On top of the tellers, there are automated ticketing machines in the lobby that you can either pre-order your tickets or buy them at the machine. Another cool feature is the mobile ticketing option when you buy tickets on-line. This is a system where once you purchase tickets, you enter your cell phone number and it will text you a QR code that the ticket taker scans. This means you completely skip the box office and any lines! The snack bar is overpriced, just like every other theater at this point, and its worth getting everything in the "oh my gosh this is gigantic" size. The small is pointlessly small and the large feeds a family of four for a week in third world countries, yet it only costs $0.50 more. There is a small restaurant (if you can even call it that) near the entrance that serves ice cream, pretzels, burgers and similar fare. Not very good and overpriced like the snack bar. All the theaters are stadium seating and comfortable. They keep up on maintenance although there is the occasional blown speaker or loose seat bottom. They have two "Extreme Digital (XD)" theaters which is Cinemark's brand of IMAX. It isn't true IMAX but it is darn close to it. Huge theaters with upgraded "leather" seats, booming sound and crisp screens. All the projectors are DLP and they run 3D movies in RealD 3D which is better than IMAX 3D in my opinion. There's something about IMAX 3D that messes with my eyes and RealD doesn't. I prefer Cinemark to any theater in the area and it's on par with the IMAX in Dickson City. read more

Easy in and out from the Montage area, just off of I-81. Movie choices are very good for the area and ticket purchase is quick and efficient. The seats in the theatre are comfortable for the most part. For a 2.5 hour movie, I start to squirm, but that's to be expected, I suppose. The arms on the seats fold back if you want to snuggle, or if you're a fatty. There are also cup holders on every chair and they recline. The theaters are always very clean, and clientele is generally engaged in the movie and very quiet and respectful of other patrons. Early show on Sunday is a great time to see a movie in a sparsely-crowded room. read more

I'd give this place a 1 star but I feel like I must. Saw the new Spider-Man and haven't been to the theatres in almost 2 years thanks to Covid. I was very much looking forward to a raspberry iced tea and a grilled cheese and French fries and a night out with my friends. First I was greeted with an insane amount of money just to see the movie. Maybe we gotta work on our prices? Next I was informed that they were out of raspberry iced tea, so now I'm really ticked off. To top it all off, they had the foot part and the Starbucks closed. Maybe they should tell you that when you order your tickets. This place needs to get their act together or like the rest of the local entertainment, will be swept away by covid and will become an empty abyss. Went to see Mamma Mia 2 the theater forgot it was summer they did not have the air conditioning on. When I complained to the manager she told me I should have left the movie I paid to see and come and find her to issue my complaint, and they would have corrected it.Wrong. Huge leather recliners, clean, friendly staff. Pay the extra couple bucks for the XD theater, the picture and sound are much better! This was the first movie I didn't struggle to understand what was being said. Buy tickets online if you can, saves a lot of time and you'll have a better seat selection. Excellent movie theater with amazing daytime prices (matinee was $5). Perfect for some after-Christmas Birdman consumption. The scanner for mobile tickets wasn't working so the ticket lady took my phone and walked it over to another station to register the tickets. This is about as fine a movie theater as you can get. Considering it's about ten years old, it's still in really good shape. They've upgraded for all the fancy 3D garbage that people seem to go for these days, all of the theaters are stadium seating, and the seats kind of semi-recline with armrests that you can pull out of the way. Nice touch, that. There are about 20 theaters (I'm guessing) and plenty of registers, including some on the sides that they open for big weekends. There's also a dining area--don't know a whole lot about that, I've never gone to a theater to eat. Anyway, Cinemark is great, much better than you'd suspect for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area. I most recently attended a showing of Birdman but the first film I ever saw here was a screening of the Andy Kaufmann biopic Man On The Moon back in 1999. You would never guess that the Cinemark is now over fifteen years old; the theatre is in great shape, much cleaner than other area multiplexes that may be newer but are rapidly showing their age. Boasting twenty screens, Cinemark is able to schedule multiple showings of the weekend's blockbusters while still booking smaller independent and arthouse fare. Each theatre is equipped with comfortable and spacious stadium seating; I once attended a back-to-back screening of five Oscar nominated films during award season - I could have stayed in those wonderful chairs for another twelve hours! I must also note that the Cinemark snack bar serves some of the most delicious movie theater popcorn I've ever had the pleasure of enjoying. read more

Best movie theatre in the area, the cinema XD theatre is nearly like an IMAX! Plus there are several restaurants near by, such as Doc Magrogans, Longhorn Steakhouse and Johnny Rockets. I would choose this Cinemark location over the Wilkes Barre 14 theater complex any day. read more

We took a large group of 180 campers to the theatre and every step of the way was as pleasant as possible. The managers were incredibly helpful and went out of their way to make the experience worthwhile. For a $11 ticket with a fee attached on top of it I was expecting a lot our of this theater. Showed up 30 minutes before the movie and walked into a trashed and disgusting theater. After the cleaning crew went in there for five minutes I couldn't tell the difference. Very unpleased with the cleanliness of this theater. read more

Even though it's about 45 minutes away from home, I would pick this theater over any of the ones closer. The prices may be more expensive, but the seats make the cost and the distance worth it! But be careful, you may get too comfortable, haha. Leather reclining seats, what more could you want? Well, maybe some D-Box seating, but hopefully someday. They also have a monthly club available but I'm not sure of the details on that. read more

I took my mother to Cinemark today to see Mr. Holmes. She is 92 and wears two hearing aids. My husband told me they offer assistive devices. I called to find out. The young woman who answered the phone was very friendly and helpful. At the box office when buying tickets, I asked for both--the closed caption device and the hearing helper headphones. she prepared them for us. I then asked the manager, Dave Connors, if she should use the head phones with her hearing aids in or out. Uncertain, he called his technician in to ask. Still uncertain, Mr. Connors accompanied us to the theater and waited until the previews were over to test the headphones. (The devices only function once the feature film starts.) The headphones did not work for this particular film, but the closed captions did. My mother had not been to the movies in 15 or 20 years because she assumed it was a waste of time. She thoroughly enjoyed the film and the experience, thanks to the caption device and the generous and kind assistance of Mr. Connors. read more

Was at the movies Friday after Christmas at a 10 am movie. Lobby and in movie all appeared to be clean. Took my 5 year old granddaughter to the bathroom after the movie and the bathroom was disgusting. The floors were so flithy it looked like they hadn't been cleaned in months. Understand very busy time for theaters but the flith was even in the corners so leads me to believe the floor hasnt had a good scrubbing in awhile. Smelled like pee. Tried 3 different dispensers for soap....empty. I was their 4 days ago and still can't get over how bad that place looked. Suggestion would be NOT to open up to the public till your restrooms are clean. Makes me wonder how clean those seats are that your reclined in and what type of cleaning soda and popcorn machines go thru. YUCK read more

My favorite theatre! Their luxury lounger seating adds so much comfort to the experience. Also really enjoyed the XD theater with improved sound and bigger screen size. Establishment is very clean and well maintained and the staff has been a delight. Me and my husband loved it so much we decided to join the rewards club, it helps us save so much money at the snack bar. Extremely pleased with my experience here and recommend it highly! read more

We drive the distance in most cases the come to this theatre. It's always clean and staff are nice. Love the luxury loungers as they are so comfortable. Concessions were overpriced but it's like that at most theatres. There's also a coffee shop and small bar (when it's open) available. Ticket prices are average. I like being able to pick my seats online and buy tickets before we get there. You can basically walk straight in then after they scan your phone. No complaints. My favorite theater in the area. I drive 40 minutes to watch my most anticipated movies here. Seats are comfortable, staff is polite and helpful, the food is overpriced like every theater, but the interior is superb. The movies are well priced (around $9.50 for an evening showing). The extended snack bar makes a mean grilled cheese and fries. Tasty root beer floats as well. Plus the XD theater features a huge screen with extra plush seating. All the screens at this theater are actually silver so you get lovely crisp darks. read more

HOT summer day, was actually looking forward to cooling off in a theater with my grandkids. Wrong. They didn't have the air conditioning on, really? Sat there sweating and uncomfortable for 2 hours. Concessions were high priced (as always). After the movie, the kids wanted to play at their arcade, but nothing worked. Even their token machines were out of order. Ridiculous. Cinemark is the best movie theater within an hour driving distance! The new renovations to sleet theaters included "luxury loungers" aka giant leather seats with recline and a footrest. Definitely a significant upgrade from the traditional seating. I currently live a little more than an hour away, but grew up in the area; and can say that this theater has actively improved itself over the years. I will gladly drive the distance to see whatever movie compared to the ones in my area now. The staff is always very friendly and it's very clean. I've been to some theaters where there is garbage scattered around, sticky aisles, or just general uncleanliness. Cinemark definitely goes above and beyond to ensure that their customers have the best experience from start to finish. I will gladly continue to be a patron of this movie theater. read more
