Went here again on Friday January 2nd 2026 with my mom and a few friends to see the movie Song Sung Blue. First, and foremost, highly recommend seeing the movie if you haven't already! Our friend already brought tickets for us ahead of time, and had them ready for us. She also purchased all senior tickets which cost $8.00. good thing they don't really your ticket, cause well i'm way below the senior age. But anyways, Pleasant experience was able to walk right in, concession stand was pleasant. My mom and i got a popcorn and a Soda. Person who collected tickets was pleasant and told us where to go. Theatre was pretty crowded, which is good! And Great sound and comfortable reclining chairs! As mentioned above, movie was amazing and highly recommend! Everything. Thank God I was just visiting. Some homeless dude was sleeping in our theater. We never saw him and then he woke up towards the end of the movie. Scared my daughter. Had my knife ready. Told her she's never going to that theater again!! The concession line was so long as well so we couldn't even get anything. Sad theater experience for sure. The movie theatre was super clean and had the most amazing and comfortable seats. The reclining chair here was better than any other movie theatre. The amount of snacks were also unlimited!!! Have been here a couple times this summer (2024). It's been quite crowded with most theaters close to selling out for the movies we went to see and they weren't blockbusters either. Plan accordingly. I'd suggest arriving early for parking as well as seat selection for your movie (or pay more by reserving a seat online since there's a service charge for that). We've seen the line to buy tickets be sorta long and the concession stand line is crazy at times. I counted about 20 in the concession line when we arrived on Tuesday night at 7 pm. They do serve beer and wine. Beer served includes the basics plus like Blue Moon, etc. About 8 bucks for a draft, but I'm not sure if that's 12 or 16 oz. Wine prices were higher, like 9 or 10 dollars. Concession staff isn't too motivated and you can tell they hate their jobs...they move slowly. Not friendly. Depending on time of day they may have say 3 working concessions, but I've also seen as many as 5. I find the theaters to be a little warm for me in the summer. I wished they'd crank the a.c up a few degrees. Theaters have seemed clean and the floors aren't sticky. Be ready for jerkfaces to be on their cellphones and also talking during your film. This is our world now. Some people just have zero respect for others, no matter what. Sighh...anyhow XL size popcorn will run ya near 9 bucks after tax and comes with 1 free refill. Large sodas, no refills are about 7 bucks after tax. read more

I used to go to the movies here a lot. In fact I used to go to the movies at least twice a week. Between Cinemark Myrtle Beach and Market Common.... I stopped going to send Mark when they started reserving seats because I wanted to make a choice of who was going to sit next to you or where and would get there early enough. After a year and a half I was at the mall and I decided to see a movie today and I went to Cinemark. I bought my ticket I reserved the seat and then I looked at the line for Refreshments was about 30 people. And when I went up to look at the prices for Refreshments not a single price is listed. Which was pretty scary in a movie theater. So I decided to not take advantage of this opportunity and I gave my ticket to somebody that was standing in line outside that wanted to see the same movie and left never to return.. I'll see the same movie in 3 weeks and my 85 inch home theater screen in privacy it's all the goodies I can eat for $5. THE PUBLIC movie experience is simply not worth the MONEY anymore...... read more

It does not get much easier than this: we went online to purchase our tickets and chose our seats for the movie, "The Good Liar," at the Cinemark at Coastal Grand Mall. We arrived at 4:00 PM thinking we would miss all the previews as it said the movie would start at 4:00 PM. We were really annoyed to find out that we had to watch a half hour of previews before the movie started. We were not thrilled about that! We like to come to the movies here when we visit Myrtle Beach as we really like the reclining seats; they are so comfortable! This movie had a real twist at the end which we did not see coming. Just visited Cinemark on 7/27/23 and it looks like a theater in decline. The carpeting in the hallways to the individual theaters is dirty and clearly not cleaned in sometime and that includes the carpeting on the stairs to your seats in the theater. You can barely make out the row "letter" in the carpet. You can also notice a decline in the bathrooms where obvious general repairs are needed such as toilet seats that need replacing. read more

Went to see The Bob's Burgers Movie on release day in Auditorium 2. During the movie, the projector was constantly flickering and the screen went black 5+ times during the movie. The times where it went black were not just for a split second, they lasted around 30 full seconds of complete darkness in the theater. After overhearing a customers interaction with a worker, apparently they knew this before selling tickets that this specific projector has issues. How can anyone in good faith sell tickets to a movie where this is a possibility? During a time where most movies can be watched from home, that's completely unacceptable, and borderline fraud. The auditorium and projector should have not been used, and definitely not opening day films shown in it. What's more is that some patrons left the theater to tell someone that it was happening, and even after they did it still went out a few more times, meaning they couldn't even bother getting one of the many employees there to monitor the projector to make sure it didn't go out again. Even without this issue, the picture quality in their theaters are very dated and poor. Myrtle beach deserves a better theater than this one. read more

They are always changing their popcorn rules. First.... No refills on large buckets. I understood the relationship to COVID decision back then. Hint... their competition down the street refills AND their corn in much better. Today.... No longer do they allow you to doctor your large popcorn purchase. Previously (two weeks ago) you could have them fill it half and let you take it to the butter/salt station to fix it. Then take it back to fill the second half. We are members and enjoy all their other advantages of online ticket purchase, discounts on concession, monthly free ticket, check in with your phone .... All wonderful! Too bad. Popcorn is part of our movie experience we look forward to. Good thing for them they got recliners. read more

You go to the movies to ENJOY the movies. You don't go to end up COVERED in butter because the crappy paper bags leak through the bottom. I asked the girl at the desk, Amy, for a piece of cardboard to hold the bag...she just kept saying "babe, I don't know what else to give you. I can't give you another bag. All that I have that's COMPLIMENTARY are these small white bags" (the size of a child's hand). I wasn't asking for free popcorn...I'm asking for something for under the leaking bags that I just paid $11 for. She finally went to talk to a manager and he straight out refused to give me anything to put under the bag. He offered a new bag of popcorn. That's laughable! I asked him what he expected me to do when that bag starts to do the same. He had NO reasonable solution. Imagine that! He said to grab a handful of napkins to take for under the bags!! Soooo you guys find it CHEAPER (since we mentioned the word complimentary) to have everyone in line grab a stack of napkins rather than have bags that don't leak? The ladies behind me complained as well that they had to grab hand fulls of napkins the other day. I guess we will be sticking with Market Commons movie theatre from now on. They should probably keep in mind they have competition when pissing off locals! The pictures provided aren't even 5 minutes after getting popcorn. Everyone says theaters are overpriced. Let's agree they are expensive. Consider the space required for a theater and the rent inside a mall. I'm surprised it doesn't cost more. I enjoyed this theatre. I went a few weeks ago while vacationing in Myrtle Beach to watch the Lion King in 3D. It was a late night showing, I think the last in the building. We ordered from the concession, it was pretty typical. The theatre that we were in was pretty small, but that's not a bad thing, there wasn't a bad seat in the house, literally. The seats were comfy and the recline was nice. Pretty nice sound and the screen was great. I didn't get much of a 3D affect though. I actually forgot it was in 3D until writing this review. Felt like I just had on glasses inside. When we left out there was only one person working, a security guard, and the rest of the building was dark. It was pretty dead but i'm sure it's lively during the day as it seemed like a nice theatre. I would return for another vacation movie. read more

Nice theater overall. The leather reclining seats are great BUT if you recline more than 50% you are unable to see the bottom of the screen because there is a (4ft or so) barrier in front of each row. We watched Planet of the Apes which contains subtitles, and you had to sit erect or you couldn't see them. Even those in our group 6ft tall had difficulties. Otherwise no complaints. read more

Don't come here unless you're comfortable with no masks in an enclosed public space during coronavirus. The corporate mask policy is a lie. Cinemark's website says patrons must wear a mask unless eating or drinking. Local mask ordinance says the same thing. But on 9/30/20 at 4:07 pm the person in the box office was advising folks in line that they only need to wear the mask in the lobby/concession area and can keep it off in the theaters, snacks or no snacks. read more

Pretty nice movie theatre to be inside the mall. Their prices are much cheaper than I expected for Myrtle Beach (and mine back home). We were early to see Joker which had been out a week already and they only had a row of seats left. They also have nice seats that recline back. read more

Parking here is really bad, the mall, the Costco, the restaurants, etc. all in one place make it difficult to get in and out of here. read more

The popcorn is solid and the employees are generally in good spirits. They are sometimes understaffed in the concession's area so plan ahead on busy days. Always went to Market Common. But since Cinemark refreshed their seating wellllllllll They now have electronic Recliners with cup holders. However, After seeing four movies here , I am going back to Market Common. The customer selected "assigned" seating is such an imposition. It should be first come first served. I have been in seats sitting next to a noisy family or worse. At Market Common one can switch seats if they do not care for where they are. The theater is now far too crowded since they had to take out a lot of seating to install the recliners. The "wow factor" went out the window with aircraft like assigned seating, Concessions are the usual over priced fare..Less expensive at Market Commons. read more

Nice New Theater in Myrtle Beach, SC. They are located inside of the mall. I thought I would like that, but the problem I had was I went late around 10:30pm and their were lots of teens out there. almost like a gang hangout. My wife felt uncomfortable. I say teens, meaning 14-19. There were kids that looked very young trying to buy tickets to "R" rated movies. The Theater was really nice. The Seats Leaned back. Outside in the Lobby They had Massaging seats that took Apple Pay if you wanted to pay 5 dollars for 15 min. lol. I give this experience a 3 star read more

Paid online to get the seats we want. The seating is awesome and would be worth it if only the closed captioning device worked. This was the 4th time we went and all 4 times there is always an issue with the closed captioning. Will NOT go back because of this issue. Got my money back this time all other times they didn't seem to give a flip if my wife missed the first 15 minutes. Missed out on star wars because of this ongoing issue that is in dire need of repair or training of employees using it. Good idea but if it doesn't work what good is it? read more
