Pro shop personnel are knowledgeable with the most up to date drilling and layouts for all types of bowlers and skill levels. Paul is one of three certified drillers that was there to help me with ball changes as I came from a different state with different oil patterns. I brought my friends there and they were so friendly and willing to help, it made us feel like family. My wife and I went here and rented a lane for an hour. It took us about 20 minutes per string and so for the $12 a person it costs for an hour it was far more economical than bowling per string. We had fun and the people were nice. Nothing bad to report. read more

Not friendly at all!!! I just moved to the area and went into MBB to check out a small Monday evening 3 game tournament that was being held. I was talking to a friend in front of the check in table and he told them that I was knew to the area and was looking to bowl. NO ONE AT THE TABLE EVEN ACKNOWLEDGED ME. Waited 3 feet from the table for 20-30 minutes and still no one talked to me. Probably won't go back. Decided to go open bowl. Lanes were just oiled and played pretty good, no complaint there. Approaches are wood and felt like they were dusted with baby powder, in fact, bottom of sole turned white-ish. Looking at the slide area on the lanes, every lane at the foul line has a warn area that dipped between the 2nd and 3rd arrows from the left. Right side spares (for righties), at times, slide felt off. read more

On a weeks vacation from NJ. We went first to Myrtle Beach Bowl. Walked right up to the counter. Started to ask the counter manager a question. As soon as I opened my mouth he said "We're closed", it's only about 11:30 am and 40 or so people were there at this time as I look around. We ask then why are people here and bowling?!? He said that they were having a closed party for the employees. Then why was the front door unlocked and only 1 5x5" sign on the door? We walked right by other people on the way in and no one said that they were closed to the public. Very rude! So we decided to go back to the Surfside bowling alley we visited the last time we were in MB about 3 yrs ago and had a good time there then. It was only about 12 to 15 from where we were staying and the people are some much nicer there. We also ate lunch {pizza} and it was the best I have had at in MB! The manager, Otis, was a very polite and accommodating. He also had a very good sense of humor and went above and beyond to make sure our party of 5 was happy and had a good time. We had asked if our little one could bowl for free like some places do, he is only 1 almost 2, but he said that they charge equally for each bowler. We thought that was a little crazy since he would probably only bowl once or twice being he is only about 2. But when we were all done he asked if we all had fun and then presented us with 1 free bowling pass for our entire group when we left! the place is old and in some parts run down and dated, but what it lacks in upscale décor it makes up in as far as value and friendliness. This is more like bowling as it was in the 80's but without cigarette smoke thankfully. You will have some music playing , usually oldies from what I can tell and cheap domestic beers and bar nosh. They have some great .25 cent a game specials sometimes which you can't beat. It has league bowling of all kinds and levels , a good birthday party package for kids, and a very solid pro shop where you can get a ball drilled, special ordered ,etc. If you are serious about bowling and are looking for the best bang for the buck , you can't go wrong. If you are looking for a date night with a more upscale feel and nicer aesthetics, then check out 7/10 or 8/10. read more

I've never been to this particular bowling alley, but I will go now. I do live in Myrtle Beach despite what my ID says. What irks me the most is the people that come here and tear/trash the establishments here. I really feel, if you don't like it, don't come back. You're not a local, so get over it. It isn't about you. Enjoy your stay, find a different place and stop hurting our businesses. We aren't up north and being a northerner, I wouldn't want to be up there ever again. Please, do us all a favor here... when the going gets rough for you up there, don't come here. You make it bad for the northerners that DO love it here. read more

This bowling alley is a great alley for anyone looking to bowl for a good time, or practice for a league/team. The lanes were good, the deals the lane offered were great, and the staff members were very nice. Overall was a great experience and I will most definitely come here again. read more

Some of the best bowling at a great value I've ever been to! We randomly decided to go bowling on a particularly windy day in mid-autumn, and I'm so glad we did. They have variety of balls available, including those cut for full palm grip, which is highly rare. The lanes are extremely well greased, which can be good or bad depending on your stroke (e.g. someone that spins the average AMF bowling ball using pointer+middle would have trouble finding traction). Horrible time bowling. Children were in the lane bext to us and kept getting in our lane. Management moved us over a lane only to add to the group of children. Couldnt enjoy ourselves due to the fear of hitting children with the bowling balls!! Management didnt seem to care. Called several times over the course of 3 days to inquire about a birthday party for my child. Followed directions given by a recording, did as they instructed and still not connected to anyone. Very disappointed in service. If you set up a recording that REPRESENTS your company, try it out to see if it works first!!!!!!!!!!
