This coffee shop visit happened as we were leaving Myrtle Beach and needed some more caffeine for the road trip home. It was a good decision. This place has a lot of space and a lot of parking. The inside is open with lots of seating. The counter to place your order is right when you walk in. One suggestion would be to have a higher visibility drink menu. They roast their own beans and it makes for a smooth cup of coffee. The iced brews were strong and I really enjoyed mine. The price was fair for what you get. The service was good too. Cute hole in the wall coffee shop! Visiting for a few days and found fresh brewed on yelp (15% discount if you check in!) you can tell the coffee shop has tons of regulars. It functions like a bar- you go up and order, get served, then "close out" your tab when your done. It was a little awkward because people were sitting in front of the register, only one person was working, etc. The atmosphere is funky yet homey. This is pretty much what I expected for the yelp #1 Myrtle coffee shop. The espresso itself is pretty average (crispy beans) and a little bitter. If you are looking for a 3rd wave coffee experience, it's not here. However, the latte I had was twice as strong as what I would get at Starbucks. With that said, the rest of the shop is great. Even though it looks like a converted dive bar (similarly placed location wise). There is a lot of nerdy knick knacks scattered around. The couch is comfy. The pirate chess board had some detailed Davey Jones and crew. There is also a back room for open mic. I wasn't there when they had it, so I can't comment to the vibe during them, butttt... While vacationing in Myrtle beach in November, we stopped by this coffee shop to grab a late night decaffeinated cup of joe and dessert. Since we weren't from the area (obviously) we searched on our YELP app and found this adorable café. Since we were traveling around Halloween, it looked like there were a lot of people in costume and some sort of themed party in the back. The service was stellar. We ordered our non-alcoholic beverages and dessert from the bartender and they were served to us in a decent amount of time. We had to be patient of course because there were about 3-4 other customers ahead of us that actually wanted mixed drinks. I'm pretty sure they served wine here too. The staff that night seemed super cool and totally hipster. Loved the vibe when we walked into this coffee shop. The décor was trendy yet old school. Yes, there was dust on the lamp fixtures but we all thought the place was neat and served its purpose. 3 of us had cheesecake and scarfed it down while all 4 of us ordered some sort of tea or coffee drink made by their espresso/cappuccino/ latte machine. If I'm ever back in the Myrtle Beach area, I'll be sure to return to this place. Highly recommended! read more

I want one of these in Hampton Roads. This was such a great find. We went with our 'gut'(YELP) to help us find a cool coffee house and we weren't disappointed. We were on our family vacay and looking for one more fun thing to do for the night. The kids were game to hit the coffee house. The coffee was incredible and the ambiance impacted the entire evening experience. I wish we could go back tomorrow. Mic night was interesting and cool. There was some great talent and then some that were just trying to spread their wings. All in all, I was super impressed and the kiddos loved their rather large cocoa's. It is nicely decorated with a warm feel. And a nod to the owners travels to England and Europe. The back has a stage for their open mic nights on Thursday night @7:30-10ish with about 4 couches, couple low tables & chairs as well as some high tables for plenty to watch their friends and locals perform. In between the rooms there is a small hallway type space with bookcases full of books & the bathrooms. I got a frozen toffee mocha that was very good then later I had them make me a frozen white chocolate, vanilla and Caramel-tasted great! My Mom drank the Samatra coffee they had brewed- she said it was nice and bold, she loved it. I have a feeling I would be here several times a week if I lived here. My favorite coffee shop in Myrtle Beach. Off the beaten path a little bit, and it may look a little rundown to the untrained eye, but definitely worth trying out. It's got that coffee house culture vibe that I love, but with its own personality. A little dark. A little Hot Topic meets Los Angeles bookstore? I don't really know how to describe it, but it's unique and I dig it. And the coffee was delicious. I wasn't expecting much when I was handed two ice lattes in what looked like clear red solo cups with lids...but honestly? Amazing. Poured perfectly. Smooth and strong. And the barista was fabulous. I'm completely bummed that I was the only customer on a Sunday morning. If you're in the area, go check it out and give them some business. Found this place on Yelp and was thankful for something local and "NOT Starbucks." This place is perfect for getting away from the tourists who think they like coffee but don't know there's a great world away from that blasted twin-tailed mermaid. This place has a great character to match its cool logo. Warm and inviting with an artsy edge. It was a double win for us as it was Open Mic Thursday in the back room, so we found seats as the regulars were still getting their time on stage. I went to order our beverages and asked for a large Americano and a medium latte (added vanilla when the barista offered it) for the spouse. Another medium latte for my son and a hot chocolate for my daughter. $12. Great coffee and a great price. We stuck around for a few songs, including a crowd favorite cover of Cash's "Ring of Fire". Then the visiting college crew took over. After the first two students could actually play, we listened to an acappella lyrical recitation thing of some obscure song. That was followed by some sap who was going to read aloud some quote he and his roommates came up with (Oh yeah, dude.. that's SO righteous). We're outtie. It was past hot-chocolate-kid's bedtime anyway, so she was falling asleep on the stool as it was. The front bar was still hopping at 10pm, and we can't wait to go back when we visit again. A Wednesday night. Clueless. Nothing but good to say about this place!! Visiting from LA, my sister, two nieces and I, were on the hunt (and in bad need) for good coffee! Saw the great reviews here on Yelp (which sometimes can be misleading since we all have a biased, personal, opinionated opinion (no thanks to the dept of redundancy dept)), and we decided to give it a go. We found it easily, walked to the door and exiting were two ladies taking about how great it was (to each other), (which we later realized we had no idea there was more 'good' to this place than met the eye), so we were excited. Come to find out, it was Wednesday, like I said. Imagine. They are closed on Wednesday!!! Who knew?! (The 'hours' on the door would have been a good place for us to start.) However, they had just finished a little meet-up with friends and were wrapping up - we kinda crashed that unfortunately. Despite that fact and the fact it was almost 8p, Kevin (founder) in all of his kindness, persuaded us to stay and made us what coffees we wanted - to perfection! Two friends (from out of town) were driving over to meet with us as well and didn't get the text about them being closed... Kevin even made their drinks when they arrived!! And there's more, but this lengthy review is getting of hand... The coffee was perfect! The purpose of the place is fantastic. The atmosphere is wonderful. The hospitality is unbeatable. In this day and age, it is very difficult to find a decent coffee shop. Often times, we end up settling for poor-quality coffee at an impersonal shop, run by pretentious rude hipsters... Most people refer to those places as "Starbucks". Fresh Brewed has been an exceptional place since I first wandered in. It has the atmosphere of a friendly bar, minus the drunk people and smoky air. The staff is always friendly and very personable, and will usually know a customers name by heart before that customer remembers theirs. Thursday nights are my favorite, and for good reason. Thursday nights at Fresh Brewed are Open Mic night, hosted by local singer/songwriter Brian Roessler. Open Mic night has, on any typical thursday, acts ranging from a singer with a guitar to a Bukowski-esque poets; Slam poets to group acts. Oh, and the coffee is phenomenal too. Try the Sumatra. What a cute little coffee shop! I was hoping for iced tea but when I asked the barista said they didn't have any. She then pleasantly listed off the cold beverages they did have and I told her I'd take a moment to decide. While I was thinking, she walked over and said if I wanted, she could just steep some tea and then make it into ice tea - kind of a quick brew iced tea. I was delighted! She didn't have to do that and the fact that she problem solved to get me some iced tea was very sweet. The iced tea tastes great! My boyfriend had a Costa Rican pour over coffee and it was delicious as well. The shop itself has very artsy decor and a used book shop in the back half, as well as what appeared to be a church! I'm a fan of this place. When I visited, I found it to be clean, stylish, and soulful, from the homey coffee bar to the restrooms. Likewise, the barista was friendly and attentive, and obliged my order for a custom Americano (which, as it were, turned out to be wonderfully priced, the cheapest on the beach that I know of). Armed with my coffee, I ate my lunch and read a good book, enjoying both the comfy interior and the quaint little sidewalk table. Love the decor! The little girl behind the counter is a real sweet pea. Such a cute little girl. And apparently her aunt is from Germany, who met when they tore down the Berlin wall, but she doesn't know whether her aunt is from the west or east side! I came to MB for my husbands work trip and I yelped a coffee shop in the area!! I came across this place!! So glad I traveled 20 minutes to get here.
