2025 Yelp 100 Challenge - #38 A fun dinner and a show. I compare the Pirates ‍ Voyage to Medieval Times without all the dust from the sand. Seating When purchasing tickets you have an option to choice three different t seating options. VIP, Premium, or General. Honestly there is no bad seat in the house, but it you want to be in front of the action, I recommend VIP for front row. Preshow You can arrive a few minutes early to enjoy a photo opportunity and a pre show of singing and dancing. During this time you have free seating on the lower and upper level with an exclusive VIP section for the VIP Seat holders. You may also purchase drinks during this time or shop in the gift shop. Show 10 out of 10 Singing, dancing, and acrobatics. They also had a few live animals such as a seal and birds. Food Soup, bread, half of baked chicken, Mac and cheese, ham, and dessert. It was a fun family outing!

Wasn't sure what to expect, but gauged this would be something similar to medieval times. In one way, yes it was, but it was so much more. With a ton of acrobatics, this felt more Cirque du Soleil mixed in with medieval times, but based on the water. They did have animals come out at various time including parrots, sea lions and dogs. They do state on their website that they treat the animals as well, but I read some questionable remarks from locals on their animal welfare which makes me cringe. Very entertaining for both children and adults. The seating did not feel cramped and we did not purchase VIP nor did we have regrets once we came in and saw how it was set up. Honestly, no matter where you sat, you would be able to see all aspects of the "stage". The food wasn't terrible and I actually think they did pretty good job keeping the chicken moist which can be tough when you are feeding a crowd. I loved the soup and biscuit. Was not a big fan of the corn. Mac & cheese was OK. Dessert delicious. Our server was having an off day as we struggled to get beverages, but it all came together at the end. I suggest trying to find a discount code in the local coupon books to help offset the cost. Also if you can get there a little early as they have pre-entertainment and you can shop around for some pirate paraphernalia.

What a great show for kids and adults alike. The show is billed as a pirate show but it's far more..... it's a combination of action, high flying gymnastics/acrobatics, swashbuckling and throw in a few sea lions to boot. My whole family was engaged from the moment it started until the end and kept talking about it for the whole ride back to the resort. Our server was Crispy Bacon and he was on it all night. He was attentive and when there was a mixup on the meal tickets he resolved it. We had ordered a vegan and a vegetarian meal but they didn't give us the correct tickets to signal that to him. Kudos Ctispy for doing right by us. The food was good not great. There is a ton of it. I mean I'm a big guy and I was full. The kids can't eat all their food so plenty to go around. The drinks are pretty standard bar drinks. You can get them in a souvenir cup for an up charge. We would not hesitate to recommend the show to coke again if in the Myrtle area.

Decided to check this dinner show out since we are into pirates. We purchased the VIP tickets which gave us entry to meet and greet with cast members, lanyard, and we got front row seats. They also do a photo shoot for you when you enter but we didn't like any of the pictures ($35 if you buy the first and 2nd was half priced). The have pre-show where you can buy popcorn and different drinks, visit the gift shop, see the mermaid and take photos, and even get your face painted ($24.99 for face painting). The staff was friendly but not as enthusiastic as I would expect from being to other dinner type shows (i.e. tournament of kings, etc.). The servers were efficient. Now we were pretty impressed with the food. The soup and biscuit were delicious and our favorites. The ham, chicken, Mac and Cheese, and corn were also very good and flavorful. We tried both the chocolate coconut cake and apple turnover, which both were good but the apples turnover was better. The drinks included are coke, water and sweet tea. The food we got was probably the best and most plentiful of any similar type shows we have been to. The show itself was very entertaining and a great variety of acrobatics, theatrics, special effects and lights and special appearances by flying parrots and Salty the Seal. The entertainers were all very talented and entertaining. Personally, unless you have kids, I would just go with the basic ticket and not the VIP ticket. Any seat would be a good and have a decent stage view. We actually dressed in pirate attire and had a fun time. Overall, we had a great experience.

Great place to take family and or friends. The food was okay nothing to write home about but it's dinner and a show. It fun for everyone. If you haven't done this at least once you should. It is interactive you want it to be. I was able to get out there with the kids, did get my shoes wet but it was fun to do.

Ahoy Mates! What an amazing experience we had at Pirates Voyage Show! This adventurous dinner was an unforgettable experience! We purchased tickets in advance for the 6pm show. We arrived at 5:20pm to catch some of the pre-show performance. When we arrived, we noticed they had metal detectors prior to entering the building which made me feel good. One of the benefits of purchasing in advance, is we were able to show our tickets and walk through instead of stopping to purchase. We were stopped right past the purchase counter to take souvenir pictures. Once we got to the back where the pre-show was happening, there was nowhere to sit on the lower level. We stood in the souvenir shop area and watched what we could see. There was an option to go upstairs to sit but we didn't. They opened the doors to the dinner show around 5:45pm. There are quite a bit of stairs. I did see signs for elevators as well. Once in the main area, I was amazed at how real everything looked. The service was phenomenal and flowed so nicely. The entire process of when they brought food out and the timing was seamless. I must say that there was a lot of food. I didn't feel rushed but there were times when I stopped eating because I felt like I didn't want to miss a moment. There were also brief times when the lights were too low to eat. I'm not a fan of eating in the dark. Haha. The food is as delicious. Whenever, I know I'm going to eat at a place where everyone is getting the same thing at the same time, I worry about the flavor of food. There was lots of flavor. The tea was sweetened just right. There were packets of sugar for people like my husband who love tea with their sugar. The soup and biscuit paired well. We weren't given spoons which I realized pirates drink soup from the cup. Haha. The chicken was moist and flavorful. The ham was true ham (kinda salty). All the sides were delicious. Oh, and there were gluten free options as well. The entire show was phenomenal! There were pirates, mermaids, sea lions, and lots of acrobatic performers. I mean bravo from start to finish. They even had a glow in the dark section. They had some of the audience be a part of the show which was pretty cool. The only negative thing I have to say is be prepared to sit cozy and close. And once you're in, it's hard to get out. Your whole row will have to get up. So it's important to be on time and take a trip to the bathroom before you sit down.

We really had great time at show. There's a pre show downstairs where you can grab nachos and adult beverages or regular beverages until you're called to go up to show area. Very well put together and incorporated seals and mermaids and Davy jones and Blackbeard.. the pool makes this a totally different exper than other shows.. the waiters and waitresses were great bring our meals and we had great time

A truly colosseum like experience, with amazing fun performances and really good food. The performers a really skillful, some doing acrobatic jumps and summer salts in the water, others performing hanging on rope, climbing poles and playing with fire. In between there are live animals joining the show as well, multiple sea lions, dogs and artificial sea animals. The crowd interaction part was really entertaining where participants join in different competitions for their teams Crimson (Red) and Sapphire (Blue). I was really surprised at the quality of the food they served starting with an excellent quality biscuit. Then got a giant piece of jerk chicken, then a pork slice, a corn and a scoop of mac and cheese. Later two were the best items among all to me. The meal ended with apple pie or a coconut cake. The servers were attentive through out the night and did an incredible job of serving all guests while also participating in the show at times. This was a really unique live experience show for me. After the show ended, the exit was through their gift shop. It had some really cool pirate style merchandise and apparels. This area also has huge dining space and a make area where performers get ready for the show.

Truly enjoy the show. So many things going on at once. Swing, fire, acrobats and jumping into water. The show itself is definitely 5/5. Big portion of food. They bring out the food for you one by one: bread, soup, chicken, Mac&cheese, ham and corn. Also drinks and dessert (coconut chocolate cake or apple pie). I'll give 4/5 for food. Honestly great experience. Highly recommend!

Always a good time for everyone, we've been here several times over the years but it was my daughter's boyfriend first visit to the beach. We were giving him the full tour. I ordered the tickets online with a discount and opted for the souvenir mugs for the pre show. (I do remember the pre-show being longer) but it was still funny. The menu had changed up a little bit since we were there but still good. Roasted chicken, mac n cheese, corn, slice of ham, cheese biscuit with veggie soup, then a choice of dessert apple turnover or chocolate coconut cake. The show was great and some changes to it too. I highly recommend.

Ask the Community - Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show

One of our kiddos is in a stroller, but can't use a high chair yet (5 months old). Should we get seats in the wheelchair accessible area?

We had two year old with us and put him in a booster seat. he was fine with the whole thing.

    How much are each ticket?

    Closer to $70.

    How long is the show?

It lasts for about an hour and a half

Are you able to take your leftovers home?

Yes they give you to go containers if you need them

    Is there a bar?

    Yes- in the preshow area.

    Which are the best seats?

All of the seats are good! We got the preferred seating and were really close to all the action. But the arena isn't as big as the diagram of the seats make it seem, so if you don't want to pay extra for super close seats, the standard level is… Read more

Is the $20 pirate makeover with face painting any good? Anyone have any photos?

Yes! We did it for my six year old, and it was fantastic! Money well spent!

I got preferred seating. What is the difference between preferred and regular? Is it that your just closer to the performance?

Yes you are only closer to the center stage. We purchased the preferred seating as well due to being told the cheaper seats were "sold out." During the show I realized there was plenty of empty rows in the cheaper seats. After the show I… Read more

First off, very beautiful venue, easy to find the seats and where the seats are located. Outside looks like an old time opera house, they do have stairs though. Inside they have a little gift shop and food stand. While entering the smell of popcorn fills the hall. Ticket attendents got the line moving and was pleasant. Got inside and the seats were comfy. As for the show, itself Killer Queen, didn't really like it as much, and for starters the band didn't open with a familiar song like Bohemian Rhaspsody. In my opinion a good show starts with 1 or 2 familar songs, then in the middle have a few new hits that may be unheard of, then close with another 2 popular songs. to add from Queen I only know of songs like Bohemian Rhaspsody, We Will Rock You, We Are The Champions- now while those were played-- waited until the very end to hear them. Also the band had to pull everyone out of their seats multiple times- and I mean if one plays a popular song, we will automatically get up and dance! Also to add, background- I remember in the Queen Movie they showed how to do the dance of both We Will Rock You, and Radio Ga Ga- show it in the background so that the audience can do it! or have a band member do it! Will admit for me, I'm more than likely to spend my money on a show based on a band that I know- like Taylor Swift, The Jonas Brothers, Miley Cyrus, Backstreet Boys, to name a few! Would be cool to have shows like that at this theatre! Anyways, despite this experience, we may be back for another show!

Unfortunately, I left wondering if we were all talking about the same place. The ticket says to arrive no later than 6:15 PM for a 7:00 PM show. We did exactly that, only to be herded into a small, overcrowded bar area for nearly an hour. There was one tiny bar trying to serve a packed room, and the bartenders moved at a pace that made the wait even more frustrating. By the time the show started, plenty of people were already visibly intoxicated. The waiting area itself felt old, dirty, and rundown. Two pool tables took up a huge amount of the available space, which made an already cramped situation even worse. Once seated in the showroom, things didn't improve. The tables are packed so tightly together that you have virtually no personal space. You're shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers the entire night. As for the comedy, there were three comedians. The headliner was fine, but the first two acts were rough. Humor is subjective, but judging by the lack of laughter around the room, I wasn't the only one struggling to find them funny. The biggest issue was the complete lack of control over the crowd. The tickets clearly state that drunk and disruptive patrons will be removed. That never happened. People were yelling, having personal conversations, talking, and creating constant distractions. At one point, a guy behind me answered his phone and carried on a full conversation during the show. Staff either didn't notice or didn't care. For a venue that emphasizes comedy, the biggest laughs of the night came from the disconnect between the rules printed on the ticket and what was actually allowed inside. As a local, I won't be back, and I genuinely don't understand where all these five-star reviews are coming from.

Though I love a good comedy show, my preferred way to enjoy them nowadays has been on Netflix or even YouTube so this would be a pleasant change of pace for sure. Once you were seated in the main event space of the club you were required a two drink or two food item minimum and since I no longer drink, I was glad to find a few decent food items to enjoy during the sets. In addition to the large Sprite I had an order of their hot pretzels and the mozzarella cheese with tomato and basil. The wait staff was friendly and kept checking to see if anything was needed across the night. My mom had some kind of dip and I think my pop had the same thing. We were there to see comedian Greg Morton who secured some popularity after appearing as a contestant on America's Got Talent. He's quite good and does a number of character voices. I can say that some of his routine is a little spicy in the language dept but that didn't offend me at all. He also did some costume impressions and one of the funniest was his Tina Turner. I wasn't expecting that at all. A Gripe. Though their club policy is no refunds, a member of our party had fallen ill and was no longer coming. This is not a cancellation that should not be honored in some fashion. The person wasn't planning on being sick and its not cheap for some of the shows. The venue should have at least offered some of the entrees or a round of drinks to make good on this. It would have been nice and I ALMOST dropped my score to a "3" because of it but I chose to leave it alone. I understand policies for sure but some circumstances should be worked out a little differently. So I did have a good time but will I return? That's unlikely since I not only live so far away in NYC but I also prefer live music events, theatre and conventions over comedy happenings. Of course if its comedy or sports will go for comedy. If you really go for this stuff then you should check out the Comedy Cabana as I don't think there is another club like it. Don't quote me on that though since I can only do so much exploring in a few days visit.

My folks are not the photo takers that I am so if they did this and I didn't recall the mention, there is no photo evidence to the matter so here we go. Presented at the St. John's Inn, the event takes over what appeared to be the entire inside event space. Once the line moved the crowd inside we were greeted by staff in traditional garb and handed leis. Another person played a ukelele to welcome everyone and it set the mood. Inside were all the tables, the stage of course and a small gift shop with items that had an island flare along with a pay per drink bar. The food was set up as a buffet and there was some pork, a fish dish, chicken along with a couple of vegetables and some rice. Some have balked about this being all that was set up to eat but I was actually okay with it. I admit that I thought there would be more along the lines of seafood but I am fussy about that stuff for the most part. The emcee/host was also a part of the musical group that performed a few radio hits with an island flair and I got a kick out of this and then it was time for all of the island presentations. It's difficult to describe it all but there was lots of hula being done by lovely dancers, along with a menacing Haka dance. Then a pause in the night happened while a protective netting was set up between the stage and the patrons and this was done to prevent any accidents with the batons and assorted other items that were used during the fire performance. This was a super exciting part of the night and I give credit the performers for their skills and amazing display. My high rating was mainly because I had a really fun time and had never been to anything like this before in my life. If you're visiting Myrtle Beach and can secure a spot at this show its a worthwhile event. I was able to be sitting closer to the stage which made it all the more thrilling. Thanks for reading.

It was definitely a night to remember!
