I used to come here all the time, but it's been a while. We were pretty disappointed with our recent visit, for a few reasons. Mainly because we were hoping to order food, but their oven was broken so literally all hot foods were unavailable. They also didn't have bottled water. There was no attendant to check our tickets or tell us which theater to go to. We found our seats (you have to choose which seat you want beforehand now) and waited. And then waited some more. The trailers played for a good 30 minutes before the movie began. Maybe I just haven't been to a theater in a while but is that the norm? I swear it used to be 15 minutes. It was so boring and we were all getting restless. I almost forgot what movie we came to see. I think we'll end up driving 10-20 mins out of the way to the next nearby theater just to avoid this one in the future. read more

This is a pretty decent theater to see a movie. They normally only have a handful of people working so sometimes getting your snacks can take a little bit, but otherwise it's a great place to go. The popcorn (which is what we're all here for right) is tasty and the large cones with one free refill - a bit annoying that it's not multiple refills if you're sharing with the whole family, but that's a corporate thing and not the fault of this location. It's typically not packed if you go at reasonable times which I appreciate. read more

Place has gone downhill. Prices have gone up, understandably as so has everything else. I planned on getting food here and didn't eat lunch before I came. Wrong move, I tried to order and they said the oven was down. I asked if there was any other hot food I could order that didn't require the oven and they said nachos or popcorn. I couldn't tell if the worker was trying to make light of a bad situation or was being condescending when she said this. I reluctantly went with nachos as I probably would have died if I didn't eat actual food. Maybe I'm just annoyed with the situation but I'll be looking for a different theater next time because it seems like there always an issue when I come here. read more

There are no recliner seats. That's expected nowadays. Food options were decent & it wasn't crowded when we went.

It's a good theater, clean and good snack bar. However they show entirely too many commercials. The movie was suppose time was 1:30 pm. We arrived 1:15. Commercials started aprox 1:25 pm till 1:55 pm. Too many!!! Not enjoyable at all. read more

This is a decent movie theater for a small city. I'm not sure I agree with the 1 and 2 star reviews. It's not the greatest theater but it doesn't suck either. Quick Highlights - Decent selection of movies to select from - Leather seats that do lean back (not a complete recline) - Decent concessions counter that moves fast - Concessions accept Apply Pay - Place was clean - Mens restroom has a lot of urinals, which I can appreciate when everyone is going to piss at the same time - Cinemark supports Fandango so you can purchase your tickets with your phone or computer Even if you get your tickets online, you still have to go to the ticket counter to obtain a paper ticket. Very rude manager and poor customer service. Johnathan was dismissive of our concerns. I went to go watch a movie and wasn't carded. My 17 year old friend went to watch the same movie and was let in with no problem. Then we go together and get told we can't go in because I am not an adult. Which I found to be quite ageist to say that me, a 22 year old, is not an adult. Johnathan continues to follow and harass us until me and my friends left the theater. He argued back and forth with me for a solid 5 minutes. Y'all need to work on your management and make sure everyone is on the same page when it comes down to the rules to watch a R rated movie. Called corporate before hand to make sure we would be able to enter with an 18 year old, made a 30 minute drive just to be told we had to be with a parent. Lady was so quick to call manager as she couldn't handle the situation herself. Don't come with any younger siblings. read more

This used to be a good theater but I have slowly come to the realization that those times are gone. In fact I've had so many bad experiences at this point that I'm openly embracing streaming new movies to my TV & letting cinemas die. And I hate to sound like an old person saying "Get off my lawn" but a lot of it has to do with awful (and I mean totally awful) teenagers. I have been in almost 2 fights, 1 of which actually had the police show up even though they fled before their arrival. I have been threatened, bullied and harassed. I'm not the only one either. Just stay away from this place. They either can't or won't do anything about it. Both times I almost got into a fight the staff seemed to know exactly who it was that was involved. read more

This movie theater is located in Salisbury, NC. It's convenient to shops and restaurants. The prices are pretty good. They have nice leather recliner seating. I believe there are 14 theaters shows. So that's nice. It's clean. They offer a lot of coupon deals on email for weekly deals. Our family loves going to this location. I love Cinemark Theatres. They tend to have the best popcorn and soft drinks, and Tinseltown is no exception. The service is also good. Some of the rooms are a little outdated, but more recently others have nice, leather chairs. Tinseltown has a good selection of films and great ticket prices. It's a wonderful option for those living in Salisbury and even beyond. My in-laws live in Lexington, but they always drive to Salisbury to see movies at Tinseltown. read more

Today's movie review is on "Lincoln Vampire Hunter", my family and I, have a scale from 0 to 10 to see how we like the film, and tonight this movie gets a 9, the movie was so great written and the blend between real history and fiction of the vampire world really nail it. If you already red the book is not to much in line with the story on the movie, there's a couple things the were not portrayed on the film, but for a night out with my wife it was pretty enjoyable. This review is for our overall experience at the smalltown Cinemark...yes, it's outdated...but on our visit last night, it was clean, the concession counter employee (a teenage girl) was polite, helpful, made suggestions (I got a 1/2 cherry 1/2 coke slurpee based on her idea - YUM) and I think the added fact that I didn't have to fight the traffic at Concord Mills made it all the better. We saw Super 8 on one of two screens offering the newly released movie, enjoyed popcorn, drink and a slurpee and it was a very enjoyable evening for a date night! Sometimes small town feel is just the right fit and this is a great example...we'll be back for sure! read more

Never been to this theater . I was given a gift card for the place. I called and asked if the seats reclined. The person I spoke to said that they do. Upon arrival I found out the seats do not recline . If I was told the truth on the phone I would have cashed the GC in with one of those coinstar type machines and went somewhere like Starlight cinema where I can watch a movie comfortably instead . To be fair I called back to the theater after the fact and asked the same question without sharing any backstory and the girl who answered that time told me the truth . First of all I have to say that I have not been to a movie theater in a few years what with 100 movie channels or more on my television and access to free DVD rentals both of which at no cost . Anyway I was "talked into" taking a couple of rug rats of friends of ours that it would be a nice " Christmas gift" something that they would remember long after the toys went to the way side. I remembered that prices where going to be high and I do not consider myself as a cheap person considering I have dropped over a $100++ a person at restaurants. 2 adults two children under 11( should there not be a price break between 1 and 11?) , 4 Cokes 1 large popcorn $48.00 .Here in my opinion and why this was not worth it at this location. If you have to go to the bathroom there is a maze of marquees making a wall in front of the bathrooms that the only reasons that I could figure where a) They did not want you to go to the bathroom 2) I guess that may stop people that where just driving by and wanted to run in to go to the bathroom both of which seemed like a NO! Ok so we had not been in a while but, I figure if the light is own on the multiplex marquee inside, that means you can go in ( of course no signs or anyone to tell you other wise) So here we go, you walk down steps to your seat( there is a rail of course) so I touched the rail and gum that had been there ( I am not sure how long ) was on the rail YUK ANYONE GOT A WIPE? As we look around the only seats left are so close to the screen that you could lick it but, that is all that is left . Every step that you take you are stepping on popcorn,popcorn boxes drink cups, candy and candy wrappers. Then when you sit down your feet are on top of the same and I think, * I saw 4 people taking tickets* Well really one the other 3 where there for the conversation. As an avid movie goer my wife and I love going to Tinseltown in Salisbury...we have a theater that's closer to where we live but this one is so much better. This is not some mega theater with 20+ screens, but at 14 screens it can handle the major new releases including the 3D varieties. It's all-stadium seating and they offer self-service ticketing kiosks as well as online ticket purchases. As with any movie theater the concession prices are expensive, but it's always clean and the location is great. read more

It's been three years since my last review and nothing has changed. Sub-par movie theatre that is showing its age and does not pass the test as far as modern-day movie theatres are concerned. Walls between theatres allow you to hear the movie in the theatre next door way too easily (and not just the explosions or deep bass). I'll say it again, Salisbury deserves a new movie theatre...any decent competition would put serious pressure on this Tinseltown. read more

But just be alarmed that concessions are a little expensive, some rooms are more out dated than others, but I've seen a lot of movies here and its a nice place to go. last time i went though, the people behind us, their daughter seemed to be sick, and coughed the whole time, so it didn't make the movie very enjoyable. and the sound in there is okay, but not amazing but i recommend this theater. the bathrooms are clean. theres a arcade located in the entrance of the theater. its expensive. the ticket prices are ok. but definitely not amazing. i give the movie theatre like a 2, 3 or 4 out of 10 because I've experienced better. read more

Ridiculous. The theater was switched for our movie and we weren't notified. Rather, we were told to go to the wrong theater and looked for the correct theater for 15 MINUTES. It was a date night and after finally being told where the right theater was, all the seats were taken. Needless to say, this theater's management and employers are not doing their job. read more
