The oversized recliners, cozy blankets, in-seat service, and a good movie? That's a solid date night. Now onto the important part. My biggest tip is to arrive 30 minutes before showtime so you're not trying to read the menu by flashlight once the previews start. Since we caught an afternoon showing, I wanted something a little lighter and ordered the Harvest Bowl, while hubby went with the bison burger and sweet potato fries. I treated myself to one Old Fashioned, and he kept it simple with a beer. Everything arrived before the movie started, which I always appreciate. Just be warned... once those lights go down, you're pretty much on your own trying to guide food from plate to mouth. I find it to be a fun challenge. The Harvest Bowl was fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving with chickpeas, quinoa, avocado, and plenty of green. The sweet potato fries were good too. I would've loved a little more crisp on them, but let's be honest that's usually the trade-off with sweet potato. The portions were just right. Filling enough to enjoy without immediately falling asleep in those dangerously comfortable recliners. (Although... maybe skip the late-night showing if you're anything like me.) If you're looking for an easy date night with good food and a comfortable movie experience, iPic remains as my solid choice.

The menu apparently had the information in fine print, but there was no clear explanation or reminder when I checked out that an 18% gratuity had been added. When I questioned the charge, I spoke with the manager, Christian. Instead of taking responsibility for the lack of clear disclosure, he blamed it "new ownership" and on "new policies" that he is required to follow. He also told me that the 8% tax was because the theater is considered part of the Beach, even though the location is in Eastern Shores. That explanation did not make the situation any more reassuring. Regardless of what the internal policy may be, customers deserve clear and upfront disclosure of mandatory charges before paying. An 18% gratuity is significant, and hiding it in fine print or displaying the notice in a way that customers cannot reasonably see is not good customer service. I left feeling that the theater was more interested in defending the charge than addressing a legitimate concern. If you visit, carefully review the menu and your bill for additional charges before paying.

I kept an eye on their upcoming screenings and saw that they had an 11 pm showing on Labor Day weekend which was perfect. We purchased tickets online and got a confirmation email with a QR code. Parking was easy and free. Once inside, we purchased a $5 prop bag which contained a mini squirt gun which was pre-filled with water, part of a magazine, small bag of popcorn, party hat, party blower and medical exam glove. We made our way into the theater which was pretty full. We found seats towards the back where the 4 of us could sit together. The cast performed on the stage in front of the screen while the movie was playing. There were spotlights on them so that you couldn't see the bottom part of the movie. There were a lot more callbacks during the show than there were many years ago when I last saw it. Seating was very comfortable with recliner seating and lots of leg room.

Seats were clean and I always loved the clean sweet smell of the theater. Throw blankets were waiting for us as well. Our waiter came to us just as our movie started. Drinks and the charcuterie plate took about 20 mins. This has been the standard wait time, especially with a full theater. We had a great time and enjoyed our movie.
