Today, during the Saturday World Cup Watch Party, I decided to go to the movie. Now some may say that was the less smart part, but I disagree. Even though I wasn't there to cheer on Colombia, the excitement of the whole scene was palpable. And when I ducked into the cold AC of the theatre, I felt smarter indeed. Today's movie was Tuner, which has a 94 score on Rotten Tomatoes. Dustin Hoffman plays a great supporting role. Suspenseful, emotional, exciting, a but nerve wracking. A popcorn-shoving spectacle to behold.

The Parker is an elegant venue with the opportunity to upgrade to The Haller Club! Totally worth the additional ticket! First, the Parker Team are all incredibly friendly, welcoming and professional! I'm amazed every time I attend a concert they are consistently welcoming! The renovation is absolutely incredible! Beautiful! Definitely upgrade to the Haller Club! The atmosphere is relaxing, comfortable even for a single person... The display of food is 5 Stars! The options are endless! From cheese, fruit, salad, fresh rolls, butter, always 2 hot appetizers, display of mini desserts and fresh fruit! A dedicated bartender with complimentary wine,beer and water bottles. The mini spanakopita and pork sliders were our hot options. Delicious! The service, food and ambiance are all 5 Stars!! Now to the Happy Together tour! Brilliant performance by all involved! Each act outdid the other! The audience sang along to each song! Especially with Gary Puckett! I hope the venue continues with showcasing the bands from the 60's, 70's and 80's! Yes! Baby Boomers are in Florida year round now! With expendable income! The Parker is the poster child for the rest of the Country! It's always a 5 Star Experience!

At the entrance, there is also a bar offering drinks--somewhat on the pricey side--as well as snacks. Once inside the auditorium, the atmosphere shifts to a more classic aesthetic, highlighted by beautiful ceiling ornamentation that adds character and charm to the space. The theater itself is relatively small to medium in size, making it well suited for plays and more intimate performances. Now that I've discovered this venue, I'll certainly be keeping an eye on their upcoming shows.

We attended one of the Candlelight tribute shows to Bad Bunny and it was amazing. Much to my surprise, the sound quality was impressive throughout the entire theater. Free parking is provided in the Gateway Shopping Center with a two minute walk at which time we got a chance to gaze at the customers in creepy costumes and some were decked out in Rocky Horror theme. The 75 year old Gateway theatre still has it's name above the illuminated movie marquee, although has recently been sold and operates under the Paradigm Cinema banner. The interior lobby still has that 1950s ambiance with the vintage framed poster of the Rocky Horror red lips hanging on the center wall to excite every customer. For $5.00, the staff provided movie prop bags of popcorn, squirt guns, party hats, elastic glove, party popper, and a sheet of newspaper (these are all items that encourage the guests to be interactive during the film). A verbal disclaimer was issued at the beginning of the night alerting everyone that if you are easily offended and in fear of getting wet then "Get the F**k out !" This alone confirmed that this was going to be a night to remember. The sold out theatre has general seating with a large stage in front of the screen and recently upgraded with plush recliner seating. The first thirty minutes was dedicated to teach the Rocky Horror virgins the rules of the night including a costume contest. The underrated culturally integrated film was entertaining with the ability to throw popcorn, squirt people with water and the added motivation to dance in the aisles while methodically singing along to the freaky sexually descriptive songs in the film. Perfect theatre to host this legendary event.

I took my mother and my adult daughter on a Wednesday night. We had handicapped seats, which were first come first serve, so I wanted to arrive early and get a good seat. We arrived about an hour early, and were able to park just steps from the entrance. When we walked in, we saw a room full of concessions : soda, popcorn, cotton candy, nachos, and all of the usual circus foods. There were only about four other people inside the big tent, and we were worried that it was going to be an empty house. Little by little it started to fill up and it got to be about half full. The handicapped seats were really good, lower level center, about five or six rows back. Before the show and during intermission they had vendors coming around selling the cotton candy, popcorn, soda, and also chocolate covered apples, chocolate covered, strawberries, and all kinds of light up toys that were catching the eyes of children. There were a few children there, but not too many since it was a Wednesday night. The show started pretty much right on time. There were dancers, jugglers, and acrobats and all kinds of dazzling costumes. They opened up with a big production with many people, and then went into an act with an aerial performer who swung by her arms , her feet, her hair and who also juggled while suspended. There were several different acrobatic acts, men and women in groups completing daring feats of balance and all sorts of gymnastics that included platforms, ladders, and even blindfolds. They also had a modern clown who entertained the crowd between acts. During intermission dancers and acrobats walked around selling novelties and taking photographs that they would try to sell. (I doubt anyone got out of there without spending an extra $15-$10). Overall it was very entertaining and something a little out of the ordinary. I know they had special prices for children....so don't miss it if Cirque Italia comes to your town!

I believed I was using the Cirque Italia website but it turned out to be a secondary seller that tripled the price of tickets. There is absolutely no recourse for cancelling, exchanging tickets and it is very difficult to get a real person to talk to about the issue.
