Many of the table ornaments were boxes that my kids kept wanting to put things in, eep, very nervous that we would leave something behind because kids hid it. The kitchen was very nice to use with bowls and spoons for cereal, glasses for water or wine, mugs for coffee, a full sized coffee maker in the room, dishwasher and a full sized fridge. With a grocery store just down the road, it was easy to fill the fruit basket-pantry-fridge with everything we needed. The kid bedrooms were decorated beach or nautical and had their own sinks but shared a tub/toilet part of the bathroom. Pocket doors made the tight bathroom spaces less snug. The master bedroom was lovely of course. The mattress was certainly not one I'd want at home but worked fine for a week. Ceiling fans all over kept the rooms cool and air fresh. The patio was really cool during rain but totally useless otherwise because of mosquitos. The ceiling fan outside probably helped but walking on thousands of dead bugs to sit outside didn't appeal to me. The night we checked in, we found a couple maintenance issues, and a very nice man was able to help us the next morning. Housekeeping kept us in towels and took out trash every day. They were great. Maybe it's a California thing, but I had a real problem throwing out cans and bottles. They don't have a way to recycle.

It was noticeably musty and dusty, with an odor that honestly reminded me of a dirty sock. We reported the issue three separate times, but unfortunately, our concerns seemed to go unheard. After completing a survey on our final day, I received a call from someone at the front desk. The conversation felt very transactional, and he later called back to offer a $40-per-night refund, which I declined. Compensation was not the reason I expressed my concerns. I had hoped for acknowledgment and reassurance that the issues would be addressed for future guests. Without that, I'm not sure we would return. The quality of the air you breathe is important, and the air in our room did not feel clean or fresh. We could also visibly see what appeared to be mold around the AC units on the 9th floor, where our room was located. For the price, I honestly do not feel it was worth it. We paid over $800 for two nights, and given the condition of the room and the lack of attention to our concerns, the value simply was not there. This property has so much potential because the location, grounds, and views are truly amazing. With better maintenance, cleanliness, and attention to guest concerns, it could be a wonderful destination.

I checked into the hotel on 03/27/2026 and checked out the very same day because the room condition was unacceptable. The room was not clean and did not meet reasonable expectations for a hotel stay. I was uncomfortable remaining there and chose to leave rather than stay overnight. Despite the fact that I never actually stayed at the property, the hotel has refused to issue any refund and is keeping the full charge for the entire stay. I attempted to resolve the issue directly with the hotel and through Expedia, providing clear communication about why I left the property the same day. Communication from the hotel was delayed and unhelpful. I received responses saying the matter would be sent to management, but no meaningful resolution was ever provided. What made this experience even more concerning was the dispute process afterward. During my credit card dispute, the hotel reportedly claimed that I "never checked out," which is completely false. I did leave the property the same day and have documentation showing my attempts to contact the hotel and resolve the matter. A disappointing room is one thing, but the lack of accountability, refusal to reasonably address the situation, and inaccurate statements made afterward are what ultimately led me to leave this review. I strongly encourage future guests to thoroughly inspect their room immediately upon arrival and keep records of all communication if problems arise.

What makes this place unique is the beautiful tropical gardens. The down side is that it does not have a heated pool. All through the winter months ,the pool is unusable except for the most hardy. Also, if you have any trouble with mobility you will have great difficulty getting to the beach because there is a huge sand dune that you must climb over to get to the beach. There are two tennis courts and a hot tub. Many other resorts have more amenities. We give SeaWinds 5 stars for its excellent location, close to restaurants and shopping, beautiful gardens, ponds and wildlife, convenience of condos with garages and driveways. The pros far outweigh the cons.
