We recently spent the weekend here. My kids enjoyed the pool and waterslide, though the pool chairs get claimed very quickly. Unfortunately, there were several issues. There is no room service, and the in-room TVs were basically unusable unless you wanted paid content. We eventually had to order DoorDash from local restaurants. I had visited once before, and just like last time, the entire building had to be evacuated because of a false-alarm fire alarm. Overall, it was disappointing. My experience at Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa was deeply concerning and far below the standards this property advertises. From the outset, the resort was misleading about what we were purchasing. We booked what was clearly represented as a golf package. Upon arrival, we were told we did not have access to golf that day. Golf was a primary reason we selected this resort. Clear, accurate representation of packages is not optional at this price point. When a resort markets itself as a premier golf destination, transparency matters. The accommodations did not reflect the luxury image presented online. The villa was outdated and worn, amenities did not function properly (including a broken coffee maker), and we experienced repeated unnecessary disturbances from staff knocking and ringing the doorbell. The condition and service level were inconsistent with what was advertised. Even more troubling was the professionalism of a golf manager during our stay. This individual winked at my minor son in a way that was inappropriate and made both of us uncomfortable. Regardless of intent, that type of interaction with a child is unacceptable in a professional hospitality setting. When I calmly raised concerns about the golf package confusion, the condition of the villa, and the overall experience, management responded with deflection rather than accountability. I was even told I should have given advance notice regarding my son's disability and booked a "disability room." That comment demonstrates a serious lack of training in guest relations and ADA awareness. This is not about minor inconveniences. It is about misleading representations, unprofessional conduct, inadequate accommodations, and a failure of leadership to take responsibility when legitimate concerns are raised. At this price level, guests should not have to push repeatedly to be heard. Transparency, professionalism, and respect -- especially toward families and minors -- should be baseline standards. Corporate leadership should take a close look at how packages are marketed, how villas are maintained, and how staff are trained. Eight of us will never go back to Hammock Beach Resort. We have visited and golfed here a few times over the last 6 years. But their prices now are so outrageous, that regardless of how much money we have, it is not worth $457 (incl. Service Charge, 3% Credit Card Fee and after 1PM discount) to golf 18 holes there. The purpose of the trip was to celebrate a birthday. What we got in return was a very disappointing experience. First be advised - this is NOT a place for couples. This is a family oriented resort. Even in areas designated for adults, children of all ages will be running around and yelling. Upon arrival the hotel computers were down and the place was chaotic and the concierge staff were miserable. The whole resort was tied into the computer system so even if you wanted to buy a bottle of water it was back to the old school way of filling out forms. This is also not a hotel per say as 300 of the 700 units are rented out while the others are for residents. Our room smelled of mildew, the toilet made a loud noise for minutes with every flush and the air handler was 5 feet from the bed preventing you from getting any rest due to the noise. The room we rented was the King Ocean Suite. The cleanliness of room was fair at best and we dared not walk barefoot on the carpet. The room needs renovation and so does the facility. Its very dated. There is only one place to get coffee, water and snacks. Its open from 7AM to 3PM and there is not any room service. Room service was discontinued in 2019. Otherwise you are forced to get food from one of the restaurants which is open till midnight. Be prepared to fight for your lounge chair. Pool chairs are not accessible until 9AM and most people just drop towels to declare ownership and leave. It's very unpleasant. We ended up being forced to reserve lounge chairs via their website at $15.00 per chair per day to guarantee seats. Delfino restaurant was OK. The pork chop milanease was good but we did not like the pasta dish. Atlantic Grille was a complete disaster for the birthday dinner. I ended up eating alone as the other party had to wait for the entree to be fixed two times and then it was declined! They did end up comping us the meal but it was a complete disappointment. In short, I would not recommend this for a vacation. You can do a lot better and overall the staff are miserable and poorly trained. However, Mia, the manager Alberta and Collin did their best to make a bad situation a little bit better. While the resort property is beautiful and presents a variety of entertaining family experiences, the Lodge rooms are lacking adequate "lighting." Not one lamp in the rooms is as bright as it needs to be. And, there needs to be a floor lamp with "reading brightness" beside the one lounge chair in the room. NOT having a bathroom fav is unheard of at a resort. Each of these items, lack of adequate room lighting, and lack of bathroom fan, drops the rating one star. For the comfort of my family, I rate this a 3-star hotel. Hammock Beach Resort does not offer "resort-worthy" rooms in the Lodge. The beach is beautiful. Room views are lovely. Rainbows after brief showers are always magical. The Atlantic Grill located in the Lodge was superb--Patrick was our waiter and he was great! If you're looking for a place where you'll feel genuinely celebrated, I highly recommend this resort! I had an incredible experience at the Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa! I called the morning of check-in to see if they could help me surprise my husband for his birthday, and the staff truly exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with a bottle of wine and even a birthday song at check-in, which immediately set the tone for a special stay. When we got to our room, there was a thoughtful birthday card waiting for us--such a personal touch. The team also gave us excellent recommendations for where to find a key lime pie (his favorite birthday dessert), which made the celebration even better. This review is for the remodeled Premium 1 Bedroom Suite in the main tower with ocean view. I can't compare it to the old version. As a mom of a preschooler, I've got a few pros, a few cons, and a lot of thoughts. THE PROS: Updated Features The remodel is great! The kitchenette has lots of counter space, a stovetop, microwave, and a roomy fridge/freezer combo. Ours even had a wine cooler, which I filled with water bottles and juice boxes...vacation hydration. Tip: bring an air fryer and you've basically got a full kitchen. They provide dish soap, sponge, plates, cups, utensils, but I say bring paper plates and call it vacation self-care. Sleeping Setup The pullout couch = standard foam mattress. Not super cozy, but fine for a kid. We had our daughter sleep in the king bed for nap. Just know: no door or divider separates the space, so nap time meant my husband and I had to sit silently in the dark like fugitives. The bed is firm. Really firm. And tall. At 5 feet I had to hop in like I was mounting a horse. Those 3am bathroom runs? Use caution! it's a drop! Bathroom Wins (Mostly) Loved the dual sinks, huge shower, vanity mirror, blow dryer, and full-size shampoo/conditioner/body wash/lotion. BUT: no tub. And if you've ever tried to convince a toddler to take a surprise shower, you know the struggle. Also: no full-length mirror. So yes, I spent the week wondering if I had snack wrappers stuck to my rear. Couldn't trust my husband or child to tell me the truth Pools on Pools Three outdoor pools, a lazy river, and a few hidden gems if you follow the map. Sandy beach pool, adults-only pool, and a main slide pool. If lightning shows up, everything shuts down, even the pool cafe, but the indoor pool and hot tub stay open. Yes, it's cold. But it's open. Resort Food = Meh Let's just say... you'll survive, but you won't write home about it. Most people probably cook in their condos. I am not most people. Every kids' menu was the same: chicken tenders (greasy AF), grilled cheese, pizza, and burgers. Mom guilt eventually kicked in. "When was her last vegetable?" I whispered into the void. No veggie side options either. Not that she'd eat them. I like to offer and feel like I tried Delfino's was the best dining experience. Pricey, but great pasta with half-portions available. The pub was super casual, aka fried food central. The lobby cafe had great coffee (so good I bought a bag to bring home). But after Day 2, we started going off-property for variety. Kids Club = MVP Used it one night and we scored big. Shoutout to Chloe, the superhero of childcare. Our daughter was the only kid that night, and Chloe went full Pinterest Mom mode--crafts, glow putt-putt, seashell hunting. My kid came back tired and happy. Worth every penny. Room Service We didn't use it, but pizza from the on-site spot will deliver to your room. Sometimes, that's all the luxury you need.. Extra Fees for Fun Stuff This was the one bummer. $4 per s'more. $5 per person for glow putt-putt. I love a good activity, but not when it feels like I'm paying per smile. We ended up skipping most of the extras. THE "MEH" ZONE: -No free family activities, especially during rainy days. -Firm beds and no privacy make naps feel like a covert military op. -Resort food could use more variety (and vegetables for crying out loud). -Shower-only setup not ideal for young kids. FINAL THOUGHTS Would we return? Maybe. Do I recommend it for families? Yes. But not a full-throttle yes. If you're prepared, know what to expect, and are okay with bringing your own paper plates and veggie pouches, you'll probably have a great time. Yet at your course, not only was this unavailable, but his golf balls were handed to him in a ziplock bag. A ziplock bag! This utter lack of sophistication subjected my husband to ridicule from his friends, who mocked him, suggesting the balls were fished out of a pond. He was humiliated in front of them. Is this your idea of luxury? Because it's pathetic. To make matters even worse, when I called your management to address this embarrassment, my call was rudely disconnected. This level of disrespect and unprofessionalism is outrageous and reflects just how far your standards have fallen. If Hammock Beach Resort wants to continue pretending to be a luxury destination, you have a lot of work to do. I recently stayed at this older hotel in need of major updating. I was charged 2.5% for paying for my hotel stay with a credit card. This was not on the website when I booked the reservation. When you arrive, they have a small sign telling you this. It doesn't seem to be fair that if they accept credit cards, then they should accept the fact that there is a fee that they are supposed to pay. Passing it on to the consumer seems very unprofessional. My only thought is that they are in desperate need of money, especially based on the condition of the property. The personal were very friendly and they were all very helpful except with removing the credit card fee. The restaurant staff was very friendly and the food was good. The room is dated and towels are very old and scratchy , the heating/AC system is in the closet in the bedroom, which goes off all night long. The furnishings are dated. Even the rug in front of your room is very old and dirty. At one of the entrances leading to the open space there are tiles that are loose and covered up with rugs. The golf course is extremely expensive at $300 per round . It is not a five star golf course. The pool area has two levels. The pools are nice and the waterslide is nice as well as the lazy river, but unfortunately, there are no towels on the second level and no bathrooms. Also, there is no staff to help move the umbrellas around as the sun changes and the staff is not checking on people regularly. The food at the pool area is not very good. I would not stay here again because of the condition of the property, the heating /AC system being in the bedroom. But mainly, I will not stay here because they charge a fee to use a credit card. This is the first time I've ever run into this in all my times of travel which are many. I just found it quite surprising. They would charge this fee and supposedly them being a high end resort. I did speak to the front desk manager, she never got back to me. I then also called again and no one returned my call on this issue. I will assume they really don't care about satisfying their customers or dealing with customer issues. All in all, I am very disappointed. I had been saving up for quite some time to stay at this higher priced resort and found out it just wasn't worth it. I wish I had read some of the reviews on Yelp and TripAdvisor closer before I had booked the reservation because based on the lower star reviews, I would have not stayed at this place. read more

Spectacular views, an amazing golf course, and attentive, friendly service. The rooms were huge with a seating area and a large balcony where you could see the golf course, and ocean. They have beach access, several high quality restaurants, as well as fast casual options. Really not a reason to leave the resort, but St. Augustine and Daytona are both about a 30-minute drive if you are looking for some more to do. Had dinner at their reservation chop house one night. The sides and appetizers were just okay, but the porterhouse steak was 10 STARS and easily made up for it. Great drinks and huge bourbon collection. The resort looks appealing, but it isn't worth the cost. We booked a villa for a long weekend family getaway, drawn by the variety of pool amenities and family activities. Unfortunately, it resembled a spring break all-inclusive resort. The only rule of the resort that appeared to be firm was the 48-inch height requirement for the pool slide. Our 47.5-inch son was denied access. Meanwhile, patrons littered the pool area with empty alcohol cans and trash, and staff ignored the mess as if it didn't exist. There were nowhere enough tubes for the lazy river given the people and beer cans floating around made it even less desirable. The most enjoyable part of our stay was the off-site activities. While the resort has high appeal, it didn't live up to the hype and we won't be returning. read more

We had a fun family weekend staying in a 3 bedroom. Lots of pools to choose from during the day and I think we went in all of them! If we could do it again, we would get there when the pools open to get chairs together. It rained several times (it's Florida) and when they closed the pools due to lightning, we went quickly to the indoor pool to wait out the rain and get chairs in there and then got chairs at the main kids pool when we were allowed back in. The guys played golf two days on two dirterent courses and we got to see them when they were on the 18th hole on the ocean course, from our 7th floor balcony! The main tower is quiet at night and it looks like many of the regulars don't stay there every weekend. The 1 bedroom suites were all fully booked on Saturday night so book early if you just need one bed and one room. The place is clean, could use some updating but truly is clean. I recently stayed here and had a nice stay. My friend and I stayed in The Lodge building - which is right by the beach. It's a smaller building (especially compared to the main part of the resort) that is only two stories with all the rooms upstairs and the downstairs is the restaurant The Atlantic and store. We had a beautiful ocean view and enjoyed sitting on our balcony. There is a pool at this building (as well as several other ones around the resort, including an indoor pool). We did not go to the pool, only the beach. I had reserved lounge chairs in advanced for the beach. I also reserved an umbrella but because the wind was over a certain mph we could not use it. The main hotel lobby was really nice. There are several restaurants at the resort. We ate at Loggerheads and The Atlantic. Both were good. At night there was a lot of activity going on with mini golf, live music and more. They have Adirondack chairs overlooking the golf course and beach that we enjoyed chilling in. We also enjoyed some time at the spa. We got spa pedicures and the woman who did us both was great. She did a great job, but also was a joy to talk to. Our room at The Lodge was really nice and clean. The bed was comfortable and the furniture was nice and more updated. The only reason I'm giving a 4 stars is because twice we asked for somethings (more pillows and the 2nd time a hair dryer) to be brought to our room and even though we were told it would be brought it never was. I would most likely come here again and bring my kids since it seems like a great overall family resort. read more

What an amazing trip! Starting with the valet at the front giving us clear directions to our building after we checked in. The valet is available for you but mostly for people coming to events or one of the 6 restaurants. The front lobby is large and has a great store with fun buying choices! Our checkin went fast and smooth even with the social distancing. They gave each of us a card with our name on it like a credit card hooked to our card at the end, to use all over the resort instead of money. It was also your room key and pass to get into private areas. Our 3 bedroom condo was incredibly beautiful and everything is easily walkable. Well, I broke my foot and was using a cane, so I just called the shuttle stand and they would send a golf cart for all of us and our gear for the day all the way to the beach! All we did was tip him every time - ask for Kyle - he's so sweet!! The pools were very well kept for their age - you can see some renovations need to be done soon but they must have a plan because everything was taken care of and the landscaping is outstanding. Their are kid pools, adult pools w/bars and a small lazy river that looked fun but we never made it there. Overall, the staff is attentive and kind and I can't WAIT to return!! read more

The reviews don't lie!! Reserved a 3 bedroom condo in the Ocean Tower. The ocean -- while able to see -- was a LONG way away. Kinda got the impression our balcony would be near the beach. Negative. The biggest problem was the bedding situation. In their defense, they did state that types of beds could not be guaranteed BUT they NEVER mentioned that a possibility would end up being 2 Tiny and I mean Doll-like Tiny beds in the 3rd room. Grown adults could not fit on these and ended up sleeping on the pull out couch (that was at least 25 years old) and had a Bar down the middle of the SKINNY mattress. Brought this to management's attention with absolutely no resolution - other than a 'sorry'. Nearly $700 a night for this?!? Stayed here recently for a two night stay. First off, it's expansive. It's basically a Vegas sized building in the middle of swamp land Florida coast. The room we had was a king with a sofa pullout. Decent size with a small kitchenette - small fridge and microwave. We stayed here in February and the place was pretty empty. It was kinda weird being in such a huge place with very few guests around. Not complaining. Just strange, empty. Seems this place has a lot of wasted empty space, too. Pool area was real nice. Large, multiple pools, both indoor and outdoor. Slides, lazy river. Gym, sauna, steam room. Good stuff. Food options on site. Not the greatest. Loggerhead's bar and grill - not good. So, I order the chicken sandwich which states clearly on the menu that it comes with fries and cole slaw. Waitress brings it out. First off, I kid you not, there are about 8 french fries on the plate and no cole slaw. And the fries are each about a half inch long. Obviously, bottom of the deep fryer refugees. I am puzzled on a couple levels - number one; why the infant sized fry portion; and two, where is the cole slaw? I ask our waitress, hey I think this comes with cole slaw? She then says, yeah, we've been having an issue with the cole slaw and says she will check. ??? If you knew there was some regional cole slaw shortage, then why not offer me alternatives from the get go? If I didn't say anything, nothing would have been said or done. Weird. Anyway, she brought more fries. We also tried the on site sushi place, which was decent. All in all, service at this hotel was ok. This was our first time going to Hammock Beach resort! Good food at the resort and great local spots nearby. The pool, lazy river and slide were entertaining for all! We stayed the week of 4th of July and there were lots of extra activities for the kids! The kids loved the day with a ton of jumpys on the lawn and the glow dance party was an awesome touch to the holiday week! We had one maintenance issue and it was addressed and fixed quickly! I've been coming to this resort since I was a little kid and have always loved it here! From family vacations to weddings we've had so many memories here! The condos are absolutely gorgeous, they have so many restaurants on property to choose from, you can walk to the beach, and the outdoor pool area is AMAZING! I've spent countless hours in the lazy river and going down the water slides! They have other pools in the back by the bar where you can just relax and drink away from all the splashing kids playing. It truly has something for everyone! The also have a great gym with lots of different options to choose from and a super relaxing spa! My stay was very disappointing. This was my second time booking this resort this year. I have family that live in Palm Coast so I visit often. I decided to stay at the Lodge this time since it is close to the beach. Big mistake! It is a self park area and upon arrival there is no one to help with luggage. It is confusing on where to check in. The first night I stayed I had a extremely large Palmetto/Cockroach in my room that I discovered a little after 1am! I called the front desk from my cell phone because the room did not work! No answer. I packed up my suitcase and brought to my car and walk to the main building and spoke to the front desk. It took a while for him to assist me and then about half an hour for someone to help me move my luggage from my car to the new room which was only 2 doors down from my original room. Now its close to 2:30 in the morning! Basically got no sleep and had spa appointments for myself and daughter early in the morning. . I got no apologies from none of the staff about the issue and then on my 2nd day there housekeeping asked when was I leaving.. Went down to the front desk and they didn't even have record that they moved my room. And my key card no longer worked. They were more concerned about the incoming guests they had scheduled for that room. No apology for the inconvenience!!! Honestly I must have spent over 3K during my stay. They should have offered to credit that first stay or upgraded me to a better room for the inconvenience, instead I was downgraded in my whole experience including the room! read more

I was so excited when I finally earned enough points to book this place. . The total bill was ridiculously expensive, which is why I worked so hard to save my points to book it ! The room seemed outdated and had a weird smell to it. Then we found a cockroach crawling on the wall. The first day we arrived It was raining so they had the pool and the pool bar and restaurant closed which I can understand if there's thunder lightning nearby however we arrived around 3 PM and it stopped raining around 4 PM and the sky was clear and sunny yet they did not open the pool for a few more hours. When my friend and I arrived there. We were very hungry because we were excited about our trip and wanted to wait till we arrived to eat. However, we were unable to get food anywhere. We walked the pool where the waitress were sitting there on their phone to tell us that everything was closed due to the weather. They said, however, the Atlantic Grill was opened. We walked over to the Atlantic Grill in the rain around 3 PM to be told. They don't serve food until 5 PM just drinks and all the other restaurants were closed as well till 5 PM .The next day they had the alarm go off in the hotel once in the morning and once around 8 PM, which both ended up being a false alarm. Multiple times during the day their computer systems "went down" and they were unable to assist us not to mention how much money we spent Just eating and drinking in one day . It also didn't help that while we at the pool the whole entire day there were gnats swarming you! Luckily, they were not the biting kind. Our waitress even mentioned that if she had bug spray she would give it to us because she knew how bad the bugs are there. We ended up making reservations for breakfast one morning at the Atlantic Grill and it was the worst service and food. For just two of us we were there for almost 2 hours for breakfast because our waiter kept disappearing for 15 to 20 minutes at a time we would constantly have to ask another waiter to find our waiter for us. Once we finally got Our food it was cold and I had to ask for my coffee multiple times, which I did not even receive until after I got my food . I would not recommend you stay here unless you want to waste a lot of your money on nothing. they also charge you a 3% surcharge for using your credit card however they do not accept cash. I will say that all the servers and staff were very friendly and kind and understood the frustration that my friend and I were going through. I'm just very disappointed that I worked hard, saving my points to book this place and had to spend so much money on food and drinks that I was very disappointed about. I understand that someone who has a lot of money would think this doesn't matter but someone like me who is a single mom and lives paycheck to paycheck and had to plan this trip for so long and experience nothing but disappointments seems like such a failure. What an incredible resort. I have a few colleagues who own condos here. You can use your condo or allow it to be rented out by the hotel and get some income back. The outdoor pool area has a massive spiral slide and a lazy river. There is an indoor pool as well. The beach is also nice since it is private and far from any public area so you can find plenty of quiet areas. They had yoga on the putting green when we were walking around. read more

I think your money is best spent at another resort here in Florida, the check in at 4PM is too late due to overbooking. The pool was overcrowded and a definite COVID-19 risk with nobody wearing masks except for staff. The 3 bedroom suite which I stayed in was very spacious but the amenities are dated. Also I am unsure of the quality of cleaning as I found two giant hair clumps on my shower and a nicely brown stained towel that I was going to dry off with. Overall 2/5 stars, better off going somewhere else. read more

CONS: The room we had in The Lodge was in much need of a redo. Old and worn, dirty lamp shades, one didn't have a finial and spun around when trying to turn it on/off, dirty grout in shower, plumbing fixtures nearly ready to come out of holes, outdated lighting in bathroom making makeup difficult, bleach spot on rug under desk table leg, no ice bucket in room and when we called to ask for one we were told we would need to pack that item -- really!! Dirty and moldy windows in our room, peeling paint on balcony furniture and severe peeling paint on balcony banister. Internet connection inadequate, TV channel selections poor and TV remote didn't work consistently. For cost of room plus $75 per night for our 17 lb. well behaved dog. And they charge a service fee if you charge room payment on day of arrival. Who carries this kind of cash on vacation??? So many inadequacies for cost we paid, can't recall all of them. Asian girl working golf pro shop on a Wednesday morning, was rude and abrupt to everyone including those on phone call for tee times. And, we spent over $350 in pro shop because husband couldn't leave with a pair of golf shoes he saw there and still got lousy treatment from her. PROS: We went in mid-April and weather was perfect! If you can overlook the room inadequacies and the cost you've paid, you'll have a good stay. The golf course, ocean and beach are spectacular. The Atlantic Grill restaurant in The Lodge was very good 3 out of 4 times, which once I was given rotten fruit on my plate. The lazy river was fun. We went early one morning before kids arrived. Beach chair rental is conveniently done on-line, but $60 plus tax for two umbrellas and two beach chairs. read more

Over priced and underwhelming... The only thing this place has going for it is an amazing web designer that perfected the art of false advertising. Let's start with check in, they booked us in the wrong room, then told us it was our mistake even though we called and booked over the phone with their representative. Finally after much convincing, they moved us to the room we booked. Let's say "THE LODGE" also the only building the resort own owns for guests stays, smells like mildew and you can hear water dripping in the walls while sleeping (must be due to the missing roofing all over the facility). Every inch of the resort (please use Resort lightly) is falling apart and needs to be updated. The pool is over crowded and if you don't wait in line prior to opening , you will not have a seat for you and your family. Maybe 100 chairs at the "FANTASY POOL". The pool looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks, cups left all over the place from other guests, etc. It wasn't until we arrived that we realized it's a timeshare type of property where owners can rent their places out. All of the restaurants are understaffed and overwhelmed. Plan to wait forever to eat if you even get your food at all. They have a beautiful lawn that allows for kids to run around and play while parents relax and watch the ocean yet they have roughly 25 Adirondack chairs for 275 guest rooms (some capable of housing 6-8 guests or more). My wife took me to the Hammock Beach Golf Resort and Spa for my birthday this year so we could party in style! This place is gorgeous and quite enormous. The property is situated on 76 acres of prime real estate which showcases a Jack Nicklaus golf course considered to be the longest, and most difficult course in Florida; Multiple tennis courses (rated top 75 among resorts); a 91,000 square-foot pool complex featuring a lazy river and water flume; and a 50,000 square foot indoor/outdoor meeting and event space. There are several ways to stay with Hammock Beach: Vacation rentals: Feature fully furnished luxury condo's, and homes located throughout Cinnamon Beach, Yacht Harbor Village, and Ocean Hammock communities. The properties are within close proximity to the main resort but not actually on the property. However, guests receive all of the same amenities of the main facility if they decide to stop in. This is a great option if your family is staying in Florida for an extended amount of time. The Main Tower: Select from 311 individually owned/decorated rooms within the main resort such as the Oceanview one-bedroom suits, Premium one-bedroom suites, Luxury Ocean & Golf View Condominiums (3-4 bedroom), and 2-3-bedroom villas. The Lodge: a 20-room oceanfront boutique hotel on the grounds of hammock beach golf resort and spa. We opted for the Premium (700 square foot) one-bedroom suite ($300 per night). The room was located in the main tower on the 10th floor and provided a spectacular view of the ocean. The room was beautiful yet has seen a lot of traffic. At one time you can tell the finishing's were premier but now, not so much. Much of the wooden furniture is scuffed up and needs to be refinished, the ottoman chair and pull out sleeper sofa should be replaced. The refrigerator was not working and the AC sounds like my neighbors 6.7L Cummins diesel. Additionally, we had continuous issues with our room keys malfunctioning which became a burden every time we needed to return to the room especially after being in the pool. There is nothing worse than sloshing through a four-star hotel lobby in your swimming attire to address such issues. The biggest problem we encountered with the room was the drug paraphernalia (expelled CO2 cartridges) found in the crevices of the sleeper sofa and behind the coffee maker (WTF??). Although we were not crazy about the room, we were very happy with the resort's 91,000 square-foot pool complex. We spent the majority of our time by the pool and at the beach soaking up the sun and hydrating with alcohol! I am assuming beer costs $7-$8 each because our mixed drinks were $14 a pop. Guests are not allowed to bring coolers into the pool area, but Yeti cups are allowed, so making a drink or two in advance is not an issue. We did not order any food but from what I have seen going out it was not impressive. The pools were well maintained, however, the poolside bathrooms were not. I do not recall seeing any of the poolside bathrooms being attended for most of the two days we spent by the pool so wear those flip flops! The staff is required to wear face coverings and practice social distancing at all times however anything goes for guests. Of the thousands of guests coming and going and slopping around the pool areas, I counted about four people wearing face covers. There were times when I forgot all about Covid-19 actually being a thing. We utilized our masks quite often, but I appreciated the freedom to take them off when we needed it. All-in-all, I would return to this resort in the future but will be more selective with our room choices. The rooms are individually owned, so experiences will vary (hence the mixed reviews). We had a great time and enjoyed the opportunity to relax in such a beautiful place. The staff was wonderful, helpful and the hotel manager did accommodate many of our issues, and because of the feedback received from resort staff, I would recommend staying at this resort and plan to return in the future. read more
