I wish I had slept in my car. At least then it would've been comfortable and clean. I was very tired so I did pass out for two hours, but then I woke up and was up all night because the bed was so creepy mushy spray all the pills were three different textures so disgusting. The overhead light didn't work. The barstools are broken. The closet door is falling off and everything is stained and grimy and just disgusting. Needless to say I woke up. I'm exhausted. My body is killing me and I checked out. I canceled the rest of my days. I'd rather sleep in my car or just go home. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! The rooms are old and run down. Musky and moldy. Sheets and pillows smell like old Body odor. Staff act as if you are an inconvenience. Room was not stocked for all guests. Light fixtures do not work. On top of all that, they will charge you more than what you agreed to pay, then hold that amount hostage threatening to charge a "cleaning fee" if you insist on pushing the issue. The reservation was made for 3 adults and a child with a service dog. (I literally had to email the dog's paperwork ahead of time just to get the room.) Not once was a rollaway fee or pet fee discussed or quoted until it was already drawn from my account. Noah was short, rude, and difficult to deal with. Stay as far away as you possibly can. read more

From 0 stars to 5 thanks to Bert at the front desk who saved our vacation! Covid review: My wife and I pull up. An old lady with white/blond hair starts yelling at me. I walked away and figured we'd leave. But Bert took care of the situation as that woman was a nobody employee. Our stay was fantastic and we can't wait to go back. The coquina walls are thick and beautiful the old Florida charm was overwhelming. Sure it's old and has a few flaws but if you want to lay in the pool and pretend it's 1933 this is the place. read more

Wis, the manager, and his employees were extremely helpful! They worked with me on when I could make payments since I was getting money throughout the week and didn't have the full amount up front to pay for a full week in advance, but as I got money throughout the week I payed before the week ended. In my third week or so however, I ended up leaving before my week was over and so I received my refund for the days I did not stay. They were also regular on their room service in the mornings and provided fresh towels and etc. They even have dishes you can pick up in the office you can use in your room. There is also a water fountain inside the ice machine so you have options for both. They serve a continental breakfast of snack bars, pastries, juice, and coffee every morning from 8-10am. There's 3 items of gym equipment for use upstairs in one of the rooms and the other room is like a conference room/lounge where you can hang out and read the paper, relax, bring your laptop in for use, etc. There's also a restroom up there in between both rooms. The wifi is difficult to reach the rooms because the facility is made out of coquina rock so the signal has trouble getting through. I recommend sitting outside on the porch of your room or using the conference room/lounge because the signal works better in those places. Also sometimes you just have to dial 0 for room service on the room phone to ask them to reset the internet router for to work faster. It's located in the gym equipment room in front of the treadmill if you know how to reset it yourself. I'm a cat lover and enjoyed the cats they had living there that would walk right up to me and were social. Some even stayed with me in my room (by my choice of course not required). The rooms are fully cleaned so even if you are allergic to cats as long as you don't let them in your room or pet them you should be fine. I met up with someone who was allergic to cats when I stayed there and their allergies didn't act up. If you're not into cats please at least be nice to them if you see them walking around the premises. They are harmless and most are afraid of people especially since some of them were abused. No need to be their care taker if you don't want to since other employees do that. Just please be kind or keep your distance. read more

As a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys we really enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are clean, staff is very friendly, the hotel gives you that old charm feel and there is a neat rail going to the intercoastal waterway behind the hotel that we were able to explore. Rates were very reasonable given the holiday. The only thing to improve is the continental breakfast, its a little sparse. Everything else was very first rate. read more

They have new management and have become more restrictive with their pet policies. Per their pet policy they have a limited number of pet friendly rooms. 2 dogs max, must be under 40 pounds, no Rottweilers, Pit bulls, or "unpredictable breeds". $10/dog/day. No other animals allowed. Plenty of grass and areas for dogs to roam on leash. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Me and my boyfriend have stayed here several times in the past because they are pet friendly. We have brought the same 2 dogs with us each time. I went to make a reservation and they said they don't make reservations for pit bulls....and I said that's funny because I've stayed here 3 times before in the last 5 years and it was never an issue before! Why all of a sudden is it an issue? And then they proceeded to ask me what my name was, and what those reservations would have been under and claimed they had no record of either one of us in the system! I am extremely infuriatated! We don't rent to pit bulls is all they kept saying!!! I'm curious as to when that started? Because the ONLY reason we stayed there in the past was for our dogs. Screw this place! read more

From desk staff extremely friendly. Checked in went to room. Room had a very strong musty mildew smell. I went and asked to change to a different room. I then got the other room which was a little better. But still had that smell. We ended up staying. Never got the hot water to stay on longer than a minute so had to take a quick shower. Bed mattress was firm whIch was a plus. Room just wasn't what we expected with pictures. It is an old complex so I guess it has that historic bit of charm. Nothing fancy. Quiet, clean, comfy, old Florida charm. Pet friendly with cats in residence. Joanna in the office was soooo nice. We knew we would like our stay here as soon as we met her. Marking this as a place to stay whenever our travels bring us this way. Call ahead though. It seems that enough people have discovered this gem that rooms are often full. A definite step up from the usual chain motels. We plan to sleep well tonight. read more

This is one of our favorite places to stay. It has everything you need in olld florida fashion. Nothing fancy but rooms are very clean and quirky. Rene is the best house keeper we ever seen and Janice is kind and wonderful! We have been coming here for 18 years and still choose it first for short escapes. Only wish the new management would walk the grounds and take note of the amount of trash that people are leaving around that is ignored by the maintenance men. read more
