When she saw we were done eating, she delivered containers, a bag, and everything she did was so courteous. She is young and dynamic, with an amazing, delightful personality. Excellent food and excellent service!!! We were looking for good Indian food on our last night in Calgary and we randomly asked an (Indian) stranger in an elevator what his favorite local spot was. He named Cinnamon and he was not wrong! The food was flavorful and delicious. My personal favorite was the lamb Roghan Josh.... Came out looking red hot and danced on my tongue! Paired gorgeously with the butter and garlic naan which was absolute perfection. The service was also amazing. Simran was our server and she had excellent recommendations and was very kind! Visited Calgary and stopped by Cinnamon for a quick dinner. Parking was extremely hard to find and in the end they allowed us to use their 5 minute parking spot for delivery drivers. We ordered family style for 3 of us, everything was authentic and delicious. The daal was very creamy and the paneer was cooked to perfection. Really tasty! read more

Indian food is one of those things that I forget how much I love, then when I have it again it makes me smile and satisfies all of my cravings. For NYE I wanted something different and Indian seemed like the perfect choice. Cinnamon was recommended by friends and they had the perfect holiday special. I think most restaurants were overwhelmed by the flood of people ordering in for New Year's Eve and while it took a bit to get our order, it was well worth the wait. RATING: 9.5/10 - Cinnamon Holiday Special for 2 The biggest surprise for me was that the Chaat Papdi was my favourite. This is something that I generally wouldn't even order, but the combo of the yogurt sauce, mint and the crunchy chips pleased my palette beyond what I thought was possible. So yummy! The Maharani platter packed the perfect combination of little bites. While I wouldn't generally gravitate towards vegetarian dishes, this sounded too good to pass up. The Hara Bhara Kebabs were my fave of the bunch! Imagine potato fritters stuffed with cheese, it was the ultimate comfort food! You can't have Indian without curry! We ordered the Paneer Makhani and Butter Chicken, both of which were delicious and flavourful. My only regret is that they were very similar and next time I'd mix it up a bit more. Overall my first experience with Cinnamon was great and I'd definitely order from them again. The value of food for what we paid was right on and we're still finishing leftovers. read more

Went here as looking to find a new Indian restaurant since moving from another province. The service was extremely better then any other Indian restaurant been to where they actually come and ask you how things are and refill your water without me getting up and asking. The price was really reasonable for the portion size, the only issue I had is that the rice in my combo once got near the end was so hard to eat it almost made me choke and the chicken although was cooked and covered in the butter sauce and grave was so try and super chewy. Will be back to try something else but definitely recommend trying this location out read more

I forget the server's name, I wanna say Anna. Anyway, she's an absolute trooper and made for a great experience, despite having 12 of us to deal with. Most of the food is exceptional here. We got chicken 65, shish kabobs, and samosa chaat for starters. Best damn chicken 65 I've had in years! Samosa chaat is meh. The biryani will give your mom's a run for its money, just wish I got the goat. Banff made us kind of skeptical to Alberta's food scene, but places like this restored our faith. Keep it up y'all and get more staff like Anna. Really hope I'm getting her name right. read more

They lost our order and we waited 15 minutes for the food (they had to place the order again) after we arrived to pick it up at the indicated time. When we got home we discovered one of the dishes was masala fries rather than the fish pakora. It wasn't worth driving back at that point with hungry kids. No complimentary gestures for having lost the order and the extra wait, which would be offered in most restaurants. Food was good but we won't be returning since there are other good Indian restaurants in town that can get it right with customer service for take out meals. read more

Great place for Indian food downtown, with good food, great drinks, and at a surprisingly low price given the quality. The lunch buffet is a great deal with a fairly wide selection, and the staff was attentive and helpful in answering the questions we had. The only reason this isn't a 5/5 is the food, while great, was not very spicy. This might be because they didn't have Vindaloo as part of the buffet, but it felt like they played it very safe and didn't add much in the way of heat or spice. If you're looking for hot food, you might not want to use the buffet and instead order from the menu. read more

Flavorful and gosh darn delicious !!!!! I usually order the chaat papdi, an Indian street food snack and a friggin flavor bomb ... oh man an appetizer that you will crave and need to return for. Love the paneer appetizer that is grilled on the tandoor it is a little bit dry but the flavor is a grilled vegetarian delight. I bet they would put on a great catering cocktail party spread, impactful flavors in their small bites. I am not a vegetarian but I find with all the flavors in their main dishes I don't need meat to be satisfied so I usually choose the veggie dishes. The lentil, veggie and paneer mains are all so damn good. My only "complaint" is that I wish the descriptions on the menus were more elaborate/unique because sometimes I forget which items are which. That said, I have probably had everything on their veggie menu sections (a few times ordering what I thought was something else lol) and everything was unique and delightful - so glad I've tried all the dishes. I wasn't a fan of their house dish, cinnamon chicken, it tasted like plastic to me ... maybe it was just stored in a bad Tupperware containers or something ... The naan is excellent, the rice is good, super mango lassis ... I just love this place !!!!!! Oh - and the staff is down to earth and authentically friendly and kind. Just ordered the Hydrabad biryani and bigan bartha dish. My wife and I am of Indian decent and we can absolutely say this is the worst Indian we've ever had. The Biryani was clearly not fresh and we know what fresh rice and biryani looks like and more importantly taste like. The bigun dish was oily and not even tasteless, it was absolutely awful. When I had googled this restaurant I was hungry and excited as it did look good on the pictures, so I braved the - 28 degrees outside and walked over. The first alarm bell was there was one table occupied, but that could have been due to the cold weather. When I got home as soon as we opened the dishes we knew right away it was not fresh. I hate writing a review like this about a restaurant, but I am so ticked off at wasting 30 dollars on these items, I cant even bring myself to call it food. Do your self a favor and skip this restaurant, it is an insult to good Indian food. read more

This place is a party of flavors in your mouth!! I am Indian, I love Indian food and have had it all over the world. The only other place where I had such incredible Indian food was in Budapest. Their chef is from Delhi and used to work for an Embassy there. His cooking and presentation of the food are excellent. We asked for spicy food and it was soooo good. My family is vegetarian so we ordered the Maharani Platter for appetizers. Do NOT miss that!! It is a slate full of deliciousness decorated for a Queen. The price: We paid for four people how much I pay for two people at a mediocre restaurant in the San Francisco Bay Area. Excellent food at an excellent price in a nice ambiance with really friendly service. Our server grew up in Milan and even made a great ice cream recommendation for a really nice ice cream place nearby. I am definitely coming back here when I find myself in Calgary again. read more

their maharaja platter is worth trying. but I am rating it 2 because we ordered dal makhani and missi roti . Roti was tasting sour but we felt might be it's change in our pallet. When we came back to hotel, three of group members had gastric disorders. one had severe pain 1 hour after eating. I think all three facing the problem cannot be coincidence. Cinnamon is a MUST try! I have honestly tried most Indian places in Calgary and this is our favourite! We usually order takeaway every week or two. Everything on the menu is tasty. Have been to the lunch buffet a few times and the selection is unreal, way more options than most buffets. Owner is very kind and the staff are very friendly. Definitely give this place a shot.
