This vintage coffee shop is hidden inside of an unassuming building around Tyrone Elementary school. One word to sum it up: Cute! When I walked in I was completely caught off guard by the shabby chic decor! This seems to definitely become the local hang out. Teens, police, groups of friends, they all congregate here. There's unique tables of every size to host your "tea" party. & I quote the barista, "everything you see is for sale". I came here to complete some work away from work, but it's kinda loud, so I'm writing this Yelp review. If you like flavored coffee, this is the place. It looks like they have about 30 different flavors to choose from. I had the lavender vanilla iced latte and a chocolate croissant as suggested by the friendly baristas. Both are delicious and worth a try. The croissant is full of chocolate & crispy. Yum! My total came to $7.42. By the way, the baristas were very helpful & friendly. I really wanted to like this place. Local, good reviews. It started with a sign that said they are closing early, 4 PM. I inquired, and I was advised it is because they are short staffed. OK, well I can still squeeze in 30 minutes. I bought a tea. Then, a gentleman was sitting here waiting for his wife. At 3:30 PM, the young man working the counter told him he was shutting down the espresso machine and asked him if he knew what his wife wanted, as he was shutting it down. Even though we had all been explained the place was closing at 4 PM. In 20 minutes time, they allowed two customers to walk out without an item because they had already shut down and didn't have the products they wanted. At 3:50 PM, the same young man came over to me to tell that they "are locking the doors at 4 PM". Very curt. Not, "Hey, just a head's up. We are closing at 4 PM." No, you need to leave and be out of here before we close, as I'm locking the doors. I said, "You've let a lot of customers walk out." He walked away without a word of thanks for my patronage. He was so incredibly rude. At 3:55, a young couple came in. They asked how they could help them and the proceeded to tell them they had no coffee made. It's a coffee shop! The guy was nice and said he would just use the restroom and leave. They said the restroom was closed. I commented to the customer that it seemed they didn't want to do their jobs and had been rude to me. The same snarky young man said to the other employee, "I'm not sure how I was rude." This was my first and last time at this cute little shop. They don't want to do their jobs. They don't appreciate their customers. Don't bother coming here. I would love a refund, but the register was already closed too. Edit: As I was sitting in the parking lot, the same young man continued to be hostile towards me! He should be fired. Absolutely fabulous! Inviting atmosphere. Friendly staff. Such a good place to stop if you are ever visiting Tyrone. I've worked out of Circa a few times. (Pro tip: The front of the house is warmer, the back of the house is cooler. Both areas are nice for meeting and working.) Circa is quickly becoming one of my favorite 3rd locations in the area. Baked goods are nice. The coffee is great. The lattes. Wow. Lattes are my go to drink when it comes to visiting cafes. So today, I was delighted when I saw an autumn special: "Horchata Latte". OH MY WORD! This latte is DELICIOUS. I also like that they offer regular cup of coffee refills. It makes sitting down and enjoying a conversation with a friend, reading, or working so much better when you are not worrying about monitoring your coffee intake. Also today, my daughter (age 3) comes with me for coffee runs when I go get coffee to go for my wife in the morning occasionally. The staff told us about a special kids drink called a "steamer". She ordered a raspberry steamer, which is essentially steamed milk with one flavor and whip cream. She loved it! It was her very first hot drink from a coffee shop. I'm so glad I checked out this hidden gem in Tyrone! It ended up being the perfect meeting spot. Circa's Coffee House is attached to Circa Antiques Marketplace just next door, and it's a bit easy to miss from the road. Look for the "COFFEEHOUSE" sign! Ordering and receiving my drink was quick, but I was disappointed when my dine-in order arrived at our table in a to-go cup. I got a peppermint bark latte which was very subtle in flavor. They had a long list of other seasonal flavors to choose from, and their grab-and-go food cooler seemed very reasonably priced and made in-house. Ordered a drink with matcha powder, the barista told me that she would not make me the drink because she didn't want to clean the machine used for it, came to me three different times with changes she wanted to make because she was being lazy, modified my drink, still charged me full price, the drink was awful and tasted like corn syrup. The coffee and service are always phenomenal! I travel out of my way by at least 15 minutes to get their coffee! We are never disappointed. The side where they sell antiques is outstanding as well. This is such an awesome coffee house and shop! I highly recommend it. I'm evacuated from my home due to hurricane Irma and they gave me a free pastry along with lots of kindness and encouragement. The owner is phenomenal and so was the barista! They have a large selection of drinks (I had the very delicious chai latte), pastries, and snacks! I was working in the area a few weeks ago and needed a cup of motivation and I hit the trusty Yelp App and it led me here. I was greeted by a very nice barista who was able to fulfill my motivation goal with a quad shot latte. The decor was awesome so two thumbs up to the interior designer who the barista claims was the owner. The owners of the coffee shop owned the antique shop next door also.
