Restrooms were ok - typical truck stop. I have never seen such bleak restaurant decor, but the table and chairs were clean. The cheerful lady came out with menus and then brought our food to the table. The food was some of the best restaurant food I have ever eaten! I got the Grilled Lemon Catfish. It was a gourmet quality dish with luscious mashed potatoes and crisp Texas toast. My husband got the Chicken Fried Steak and raved about it. I can't even give it one star! This place is a shit hole! We stayed in the rv park and it is no doubt the worst!! By looking at the pics the hotel is not a motel 8 it is now called republic hotel the only thing good to say is the diesel gas was priced good so we decided to get gas there. And now the restaurant is "temporarily" closed. Probably waiting for someone of a certain ethnicity to reopen under that certain ethnicities type of food. I was very timid about eating at a truck stop but am glad I did. The food was wonderful. It was enough to fill me up and some for a doggy bag. I got the hamburger steak and it was delicious. My girlfriend ate the grilled fish with veggies and she said it was great too. The service was ok considering the amount of people that were eating at that particular time. I would highly recommend stopping in and eating dinner here. Anytime!!! read more

This place was an absolute mess. We stopped in for bathroom breaks while driving along I-10, and next time I will do what I can to avoid this place. The restrooms were God-awful! In the men's restroom, 3 of the 5 stalls were down for "remodeling", however it seemed like someone dropped a bomb in the toilets and they had just never been fixed. The floor was disgusting, and the urinals were just as bad. Can't speak for the women's restroom myself, but my wife was absolutely disgusted. She actually refused to relieve herself there, and was willing to hold it until the next exit (and that is really saying something!). Gas prices here were atrocious. Easily 20-30 cents higher than anywhere else in the vicinity. I was sitting at a quarter tank, so I decided to wait till a little further down the road. Inside the store, the prices for snack foods were hiked up as well. Overall, this place is just nasty, and they are awfully proud of their merchandise. I don't know if there's an agency that this establishment could be reported to, but it is downright disgusting if you plan on making a stop to use their facilities. I sincerely hope the condition of the restrooms are in no way a reflection of how they clean or maintain their kitchen! No soap. Human waste in stalls. Backed up toilets. This stop is gross and nasty! The mens bathroom was disgusting! It smelled like urine and the floors were unacceptable! A line for the womens bathroom but im sure it was in horrible conditions too! Seriously, is kindness that hard for some people in the customer service field?!?! Gas station cashier was so rude. I stood with my husband who wanted something from the "hot deli" which was Chesters. Got three chicken tenders and mashed potatoes. The potatoes were cold, not even the slightest warm. The chicken, tough and chewy, had to have been out for hours. Should have known better than to stop at a place that's literally in the middle of nowhere. If you're heading East on I10, do yourself a favor, go down about 25-30 miles, there's a Road Ranger at exit 400 with Tejas Taco and Chesters, if you're looking for a place where you can get food and fuel at same place. read more

Could have done without the hair in my food. My husband ordered a sandwich with no mayo, it makes him sick. They served it with mayo, ended up getting sick. If your going for gas DO NOT GO HERE. All the auto pumps have tape across them so you have to go inside to pay.. Once you pay for your gas and pump it, the pumps show the wrong amount. It shows the correct dollar amount you pay for but the gallons are off. It gave us 4 gallons less than we paid for which added up to $10.00 we paid for but didn't get. The pump next to us was the same. Either the pumps are trash or they have them rigged . read more
