In the short few years since my initial review, there have been numerous changes that now require…read morean update. Jollibee is still more popular than ever and these four stars are really for what I hope they'll stand to achieve, not what they've been as of late. :: Red Ribbon is of no more (#1) and now Jollibee stands practically alone in its own little corner of the plaza. Instead Baker's Son By Valerio (#2) across the parking lot has become the pseudo Filipino carb hotspot that is resonating well with the community. :: Things are more expensive than ever. A 10 piece is practically $25 and family meals (aka bucket treats) are anywhere from $39-53. In spite of being one of my most made-up words in review form, Foodflation deserves another mention because it absolutely applies here. :: They now have mac and cheese on the menu. It has the same consistency as Popeye's or KFC, which is really not good. it's salty, tastes artificial, and is paltry in portion, especially when considering the price. :: They are also slower than ever. Even when there isn't something happening at NRG, the wait has been as long as 45 minutes for group and I, and even longer for a large order. This is for both takeout and dining in. For drive-thru goers, one will be directed to an open parking spot where they'll eventually bring the food out. :: For folks needing points via the app, it can only be applied using a phone number. They have no ability to scan anything on the app itself. It's just a tinge backwards. The other Jollibee locations are better in terms of execution, but this just happens to be the only one inside the loop. Location is not everything. __________ (#1) https://www.yelp.com/biz/red-ribbon-bakeshop-houston-3 (#2) https://www.yelp.com/biz/the-bakers-son-by-valerios-houston

In the past, I never understood the Jollibee hype. Being a Filipina, I know that's unusual... But,…read moreI do appreciate it much more as of late. It's been YEARS since I've visited a Jollibee, and it seems both the individual locations and the brand as a whole have made a lot of upgrades and changes for the better! The kiosk ordering system is a nice convenience, and (specific to the Houston restaurant) the establishment has been renovated for a more modern & minimalist look. Also worth mentioning: The restaurant was clean, and the crew was organized and efficient. Go, H-Town! Now, the food: I don't dislike the spaghetti, but it's still not my cup of tea... I still can't wrap my head or my tastebuds around the sweet & sugary sauce, and the addition of fatty hot dogs just don't do it for me. The adobo rice is overrated, in my option... a lot of garlic and salt, but missing the essence of adobo. I'll also pass on the biscuit next time (dry and didn't have much going on). However, I totally get why the fried chicken has become so viral! Super crispy, but not greasy. Great flavor & seasoning without being obnoxiously salty (think Popeye's cousin who went to college). And, thanks to TikTok, I enjoyed a chicken skin taco (skin stuffed with rice and drown it in brown gravy). Yummmmm! ChickenJoy is definitely where it's at.

But the menu is very confusing and no matter which burger you order, all patties are the same size. I just wanted a plain burger with lettuce and tomatoes and no cheese. She suggested the deluxe burger which I didn't see on the restaurant's board. After I finished the burger I was left wondering what the difference is between deluxe and the amateur. Amateur has no lettuce nor tomatoes according to menu. The cashier told me the difference was the inclusion of cheese on the deluxe I'm looking at the takeout menu and the amateur does have cheese. Why can't they just sell a burger and charge you extra for the cheese. These folks need to simplify the menu, especially if the patties are the same size; and they're tiny by the way. I could redo their menu if they hire me. Another thing that perplexed me was that the "amateur" description says meat and the "deluxe" says patti. They should just list one plain burger and go down the line with increased prices as the options like cheese are added. The sesame bun is quite tasty but overwhelms the minute beef. Let's just say I wasn't knocked out with the confusion. Where's the beef?

The service was very friendly but unfortunately the tacos just weren't very good especially for the cost. The Tejano beef meat tasted weird. My order was ready quickly, and the staff was welcoming, even though I didn't dine in. I ordered the chips and queso with Tejano beef and sour cream and yessirskii it was fulfilling. Instead of using the chips they offered which were good. I used Doritos lime flaming hot chips. That combo took it to another level. The queso was rich and creamy, and the beef added just the right amount of flavor and spice. The sour cream balanced it all out perfectly. Honestly, I could eat that every day seriously!! The chicken fajita tacos were just as solid juicy, flavorful chicken with nicely charred edges, wrapped in warm, soft tortillas. Everything tasted fresh and well-seasoned. Even just walking in for pickup, I noticed the space is bright, clean, and inviting definitely somewhere I'd return to for a casual dine-in meal. Great food, great service, and a great vibe. Liberty Taco is absolutely worth a stop if you're in the area.

My burger was hot & delicious; fries were tasty didn't have to add salt and I was welcomed to all the Ketchup my heart desired not to mention it was my favorite unlike some restaurant that give you two or three packs of off brand Ketchup. At first, I ordered a single burger but then I upgraded to a double when I saw the customer's burger next to me it looked a little small but the single would have been more than enough, I shall be back great experience!!

After eating dinner on Saturday elsewhere, my boyfriend and I decided to maximize on our eating during our short trip in Houston together and go eat more food. The line was a bit longer than we expected when we arrived, but it moved pretty quickly. We ordered one OG Burger, one OG Burger Combo, and the Blue Wave Lemonade. The combo meal comes with fries, which we shared. The fries were great. They were hot and crispy. The burger itself was good. I was satisfied with it and definitely felt full after eating everything, given I had eaten less than an hour beforehand. The parking lot is quite small, but we were able to snag a parking spot. The inside is very spacious. There are tables suited for large and small parties, too. It's clean and very lively inside.
