The upshot for us was to first have it towed to the car dealership, who quoted $18,000 in repairs. Some parts won't be available for at least 4 months, if then. In the meantime, we will not have use of the vehicle. Our tow trucker driver noted that he has towed at least 20 prior vehicles from this station for the same exact problem. He personally doesn't use BP because of this reason. I'm surprised there hasn't been a lawsuit against BP.

While eastbound on I-10, I found myself in need of fuel, a cup of coffee and a urinal, so pulled off the interstate and into this Circle K, on the south side of the interchange. Easy to get into. Filled up at a clean fuel pump, with hand cleaner. All good, so far. Popped in to use the restroom and grab drinks. (Coffee for me and an iced tea for the lady). Was greeted upon entry. Pleasant surprise. Clean restroom . The Subway girl offered assistance with the iced tea. Another clerk offered to help with the high-tech coffee dispenser. Imagine that... greeted AND offered help in a Circle K, by not one, but two associates. It gets better... I stepped up to pay, and the clerk behind the counter said, "Just that?" I responded, "Yes, please. Just the coffee and iced tea." He said, "Don't worry about it. They're on us this morning." The other clerk looked over and said, "Oh, yeah.. no worries, have a nice day." In hindsight, I should have tipped them, but I don't remember seeing a tip jar. That, and I was in shock. Kudos to the owner/manager of this store! I know staffing is nearly impossible. You've somehow defied the odds, and you can bet I'll stop in next time I'm in the area in need your services.

The gas station is located just across the street from a KOA and behind it is a Holiday Inn Express and Suites. Just down the street is a Best Western. The parking lot is pretty big. Inside they have the beer, soda and snacks that you would expect in a gas station convenience store. This exit is just east of Pensacola and all in all not a bad place to stop for gas and maybe grab something to eat. I would give them a recommendation for that, but can't say it is a great place.

I don't know if it's because the building was closed up for a year and a half, but it smells like there's an open sewer line inside. A truly funky smell. Too, the food part of the business closes at 4, which is retarded. That's about 2 hours too late to capture the lunch crowd and 2 hours too early to lure in people getting off of work and going home. I'm not in charge, so I don't get to set their hours, but this decision makes absolutely no sense. If you are going west on Berryhill, getting out of here is like flipping a coin about whether or not to shoot a bird at Death. The traffic can be horrible, and some people are doing 50 mph while others are driving 20 mph. I've actually made a right out of here, turned into the hospital, and then pulled back out to go west. I dislike waiting for 10 minutes for a break in traffic that much and am very aware of my mortality.

I am glad she has her restaurant in this location now because on a blizzard day like today, I was able to eat inside where it was warm.
