He noticed my New England accent right away and actually paused to ask about it. That turned into a short, easy conversation that made the whole stop feel a little more human than transactional. It wasn't anything big or dramatic, just one of those small exchanges that sticks with you because it breaks the usual rhythm of these quick roadside stops.
