Circle of Care for the 7 years I have been in Florida have been wonderful to me . All of the front desk staff are amazing and caring and go out of their way to help . I'm speaking solely for myself. My therapists Dr Gates and Roberta Van Dusen I will seriously miss both of them . My mental health has had its challenges but Circle of Care has helped me through the years. They get a lawsuit from me. I called and asked do you offer inpatient counseling. Group and individual too? I was told yes. I got there signed in for 3 days of intense counseling and signed myself out the same day. I was denied my health medication for 16 hours. I got violently ill because of it. Was scared for my safety. Stayed 2 days by their force. Not one counseling session. Feared for my life by other patients. Don't ever go there!!!! read more

Circles of Care off MLK blvd doesn't care about helping as much as they care about chatting. They keep the facility at a solid 63 degrees at all times of the day winter or summer. They have little respect for those with serious issues and giving favoritism to those who are voluntarily there. I was a voluntary patient. I respect everyone, so you'd think I'd find no issues. Wrong. I saw it with my own eyes. The belittlement. The effortlessness. The audacity to express that "If you fail to keep the bathrooms clean than I'll just lock the doors and y'all won't have a bathroom to use". Are you serious Phillip? The nurses could be nicer, the techs deserve to be admitted themselves cause they're all narcissistic. Larry is a horrible human being. Nuff said. I just read all the reviews from 8 years ago, and to see nothing has changed, like wow. Insane. Everyone at circles of care needs held accountable for the mistreatment of patients who cannot help themselves, that's why they are there. But nah, the staff really has no idea how incredibly awful of people they truly are, yet they hide it with the fact that they work in a hospital. Trash. Waste of college degrees and time spent in education. The groups were amazing. The patients are truly wonderful people if you actually love humanity. Joe needs to be arrested for mistreatment of a low functioning autistic patient. He's clearly not a father. Not a good one at least idk how he'd ever have gotten laid. An absolute disaster. I wore a blanket the whole time, and on the third morning some tech wanted to tell me to leave my blanket in my room, trying to get some resistance to incite an injection. Idk know his name but buddy if you ever read this I hope you ran over a patch of nails on the road. In the name of all things good in this world, please don't go here if you want help. This barely helped me. I only benefited from leaving with the resources to get the actual help I went there to get, isn't that just convenient? Shut down this facility at once please for the love of God and let his mercy follow all who are there involuntarily. Night shift worst shift. Morning shift had all the sweet staff I loved Amber and Kelly they were super nice. Some others I didn't get their names but there were some very sweet nurses and techs, but it's like 20% of the entire staff of the whole facility. To the tech who woke up a patient (Rodger?) and literally, and I am not making this up, he just walks out looking back at me and smiling. Worst care! While being there the staff would verbally abuse the children. An autistic eight year old was thrown in the quiet room for crying when his mother left after visitation. The staff started laughing while looking in the camera and opened the door to yell "you're never seeing your mom again". He starts bawling while they get a good laugh. The doctor in easy words doesn't know how to talk to kids who have mental illnesses, calling them dumb and stupid is not the way to go. As for the staff behind the counter in charge of letting us call our partners before bed time, she wouldn't let me talk to my mom because I was "fake crying". I've never been in a situation before, I was only 13 and scared, started hyperventilating... and she called it fake crying. read more

Absolutely the worst mental health provider I have ever experienced. I've worked in the mental health field for years, and this place broke every single law that there is to break. They refused medication for a diabetic (pills, not injections, so no excuse about needles there.) They also refused to let me speak to a psychiatrist or social worker while I was there visiting a patient. The patient was cleared to leave by both the social worker and psychiatrist however they refused to discharge for some reason that they refused to tell me. I will be speaking to my lawyer tomorrow, and this place will be at the very least sued, at the very best shut down. read more

This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. I finally found a counselor that I connected with. She came to my home every Tuesday morning. I did this voluntarily, and I felt like we were getting somewhere then they agreed to do reunification therapy with me and my daughter in their office with a different counselor because obviously my counselor couldn't do it because it's a conflict of interest that did not go well then, when I called to speak to the supervisor, it turned into a religious conversation on her behalf about my beliefs. I asked to speak to her supervisor at that point I was cut off of all services because they were unhappy that I complained I do not feel this was right actually it's against the law so I do plan on taking this further because the people above Jeremy, who I spoke to who is a supervisor said that the people higher up would probably have no interest in talking to me read more

Bored and pissed off looking reception staff... appointment confirmed via phone not scheduled or cancelled without notice... charged 300 bucks for a sad excuse for a "psych eval" which consisted of an hour talk with a woman and a prescription recommendation... 300 bucks that I was never told about until weeks later when I called after they cancelled my appts abruptly without notice. This place is a joke. I willingly came for treatment for my addiction to alcohol. It is sad and frankly, disgusting that is how they run things. Unstructured and uncaring... yes, because that is totally what desperate addicts need at the point of treatment. I am glad to be away from this depressing pit of sad treatment. I have continued my treatment elsewhere and I look back on this as a pathetic hole of waste as a company. I hope they go out of business tbh. Crap treatment is worse than no treatment. read more

If I could rate no stars I would. They treated my girlfriend so horribly. Not only that when I called they made her feel bad for getting a phone call. They made fun of me and mocked me for complaining to the front office about how my friend is not getting any help. She was admitted on a Thursday, saw a psychiatrist on Friday that did nothing but make her super upset. The psychiatrist talk to her no more than 15 minutes and just made her sign a paper that she is staying for 72 hours and that was it. The lady when she first got there said it was going to be a 24 hour hold, turns out it was a mandatory 72 hour hold that turned into 4 days technically. She stayed until monday morning because they do not release people over the weekends. Which is BULL. That is not fair to the patient if your told a certain amount of time. The thing that makes me the most upset is, all she does at home is think she is an over thinker, and right now she is unemployed so she was going through a deep depression,. Then just to find out that they do not help you in that mental hospital and all they do is sit there and watch you no doctors no therapist no psychiatric help nothing. she needs to help severely and they gave her no help at all . Monday the psychiatrist talk to her it was a quick in and out just to say that she still not eating and still not drinking and still not sleeping . they gave her medication and sent her on her way . They gave her medication around 8 PM every night That did not work. She was also on her monthly and they only gave her two pads that were so thin and imagine being on your period when it's heavy and can't do anything about it . . x I would like to report them but I don't think there's any way that I can do that. read more

I had a wonderful doctor at the Rockledge Circles of Care. That particular doctor was transferred to a hospital so they sent me to a male part-time psychiatrist who was late and very cold. He changed my meds and there was not a follow up call after changing my meds. I started searching for my last doctor and found she was in private practice again and have made the switch. I called Circles of Care to cancel my coming appt and also said I am changing doctors. The guy answering the calls got my information and then ended by saying, "Ok." Cold, unprofessional and that goes for the psychiatrist whose care I had been under at the time. I cannot give this business any stars. They deserve none. read more

I was an inpatient earlier this year (2019) and if you have ANY other options, you should choose them. The facility I was in was taken care of, the food wasn't bad, a few of the staff were pleasant, but, for the overwhelming majority of my stay (one week), I was belittled by the working psychiatrist. I was given a false diagnosis (or lack-thereof a diagnosis), and taken off my medication which my previous psychiatrist had prescribed. Needless to say, by the end of the week I was a wreck. More of a wreck than I came in, which is astounding. Cannot recommend to anyone looking for improvement. read more

I'm sure whoever started these facilities had grand visions to truly help people in need. And maybe they do still help some people? However, in our experience, which I believe to be typical, status quo for Circles, I sincerely doubt it. I can't know if the system has just eroded over time? Or if they have fully failed to recruit qualified doctors and general Nursing staff? There are multiple locations so I can only speak for this one. It is important to know that I, personally, was not in this facility, my Fiancé was, in November of 2014. However, I was in contact with them the entire time. Because the nature of the business of Circles of Care I don't want to put personal information 'out there', but I DO want to essentially tell people that if you have any type of untreated (or treated) mental illness and sincerely want to get better, THIS is NOT the place to look towards for help. My Fiancé received NO help from any Doctor at all. There was ONE, THREE MINUTE (that's 180 seconds, folks) meeting with THE doctor on the staff. There was absolutely NO: "therapy", "testing" (but you can bet we were certainly billed for it), prescriptions (not even the ones they were supposed to be taking daily!), or help. None. Nothing. The ONLY person that was nice or tried to help, other than, what would likely be considered 'lowly' employees, who were very friendly and as accommodating as they could be, was an Intern who was not technically even employed there. She listened, assured my Fiancé that they would receive medications needed and provided her phone number and name (but I don't believe this interaction to be a typical one as they actually knew each other from outside of Circles of Care) The 'head Nurse' was "Rude, ridiculous and an absolute joke" according to my Fiancé. The point I want to come through is, mental illness is a serious matter and if you need help for yours, please do your research and think twice before going to Circles Of Care. Mental illness is a disease and if you need help, it is so freaking hard to go through all the crap you have to go through to get it. Would give 0 starts if I could. They do not actually help you they just give you meaningless paperwork. Some kids are in there for depression and Dr. Kapori just talks so disrespectfully to all the patients. The doctors degrade the kids and call them nasty things. Kids who are in there because they tried to commit suicide are forced to write apology letters to their parents????? There is no therapy or actual trying to get better, instead you are just forced to stay there and do the same nonsense over and over again until the doctor decides you are "fit" to go home. Keep in mind you only see the "doctor" for like 10-20 minutes every other day. read more

I was put in the CCSU and I was practically treated like a prisoner! I was constantly told I wasn't allowed to cry (when I was having panic attacks) I was constantly called a crybaby and the doctor tried to tell me that I didn't love my mother One of the few people on the staff that were nice was Ms.Cara (an amazing nurse!) there were a few others but really I would say the whole experience was borderline traumatic This was clearly not the right approach for me! read more

I have experienced Circles of Care at 2020 Commerce Drive in Melbourne. When I moved to Florida a year ago from another state, I became a client to get medication checks and prescriptions for meds I was already taking and tolerating well. Everything went well except for 3 occasions with the check-in desk. The first two times, I arrived early as they requested, only to find out the nurse practicioner assigned to me was not in the facility that day. I was told someone called me to reschedule, but i didnt receive a call either time.They have my correct number AND my email address. The 3rd and last time I arrived for my scheduled appt. the required 15 minutes early, only to be told the nurse practitioner was now working inpatient. The admin looked at the computer and said someone tried to call me in December, but my phone was disconnected. My phone has NEVER been disconnected. What followed was an argument full of insults and aggression directed toward me by two women working at the desk. I was told I probably hadn't paid my phone bill and was made to feel it was my fault that I hadn't been informed. I was told I'd have to reschedule for a later date with a new provider and "UT would be awhile". Then they said they had so many clients and we're so busy they couldn't try to make contact efforts besides one phone call. In addition to my connected phone, there is email and snail mail, for which they have my addresses. My point is, the rudeness they exhibited was appalling, especially for a center whose prime goal is to treat people with all degrees of mental health concerns. That demands kindness and understanding, not rudeness, ridicule, and offensive assertions of self-righteousness. I have cut ties with this organization and will seek care elsewhere. I would like to commend the office personnel at Circles of Care who act appropriately and do seem to care about clients, for there are some. read more

My wife was self admitted on January 27 2017 at Twin Rivers at 400 East Sheridan in Melbourne FL. I was lied to many times about whether she could have phone calls. I was told she made her only phone call in January 26. That was a full day before she was admitted. I became very concerned about her care so I notified Melbourne pd to do a welfare check. They refused the officers entry twice and also denied Melbourne FD. The night of January 28 I was able to get an officer to respond and get past the administration desk to do the check. Today on January 31 I received a phone call from my wife telling me was going to be released at 10 am on February 1. I asked to speak with the director of the facility. She informed me that my wife had no restrictions on being held there. Really? I asked why she couldn't be released now. She became angry and hung up. Five minutes later I received a voicemail with the director clearly trying to impersonate my wife with her release time. I'm going to the district attorney's office in the morning to file charges. Stay away from this place!!!!!!!! read more

This place is so dirty and disgusting. The wait room for intake STINKS and everything I touched was dirty. I watched patients spit and do things that were never cleaned up, just left to dry. The bathrooms walls are covered in mold and smell like mildew. Be sure to dress warm and in loose/comfortable clothes so you don't end up being put into a brown hospital style gown. Bring extra socks to keep your feet warm. Do not expect the staff to take you seriously. I got there just after dinner time. The orderly was nice enough to make me a sandwich and keep me fed, but I had to wait HOURS for a blanket and pillow (after repeatedly asking). You sleep on a plastic mattress (very thin I might add) on a wooden framed bed. Your pillow is plastic and you only get 1 blanket (so you are left to sleep on the plastic, and keep in mind this place is COLD). You will definitely appreciate the comforts of home. Your shower has no curtain and completely soaks the entire bathroom floor (which will stay wet 100% of your time unless you want to use your 1 towel and mop it up), you share a room/bathroom. Everyone is constipated and has terrible gas (from medication and food). On my second night there, someone pulled the fire alarm so we all got woken up at 4am and had to shuffle outside. The next morning when I went to go to the bathroom the light would not turn on (so the room was pitch black). I was told to just prop the door open and that they would get maintenance in there. Apparently maintenance does not work on the weekends (though I reported it repeatedly on Monday and they didn't do anything about it). You have to drink water from the tap, so no one really does which is probably what causes the constipation. The food comes in from the hospital and is their special/meal of the day (YUCK). It was always either over salted or had no flavor. No happy medium. You get what you get and if you don't eat your meal, they are supposed to document it (though I found that no one really pays attention, they might ask 1 or 2 people, but they are too busy talking to each other that they don't really watch). I was roomed with a lady who talked to herself. She would hold conversations with herself all night. The first couple of nights I slept with one eye open until I realized she was harmless, just very sad. My last night there I had another girl move in to my room who was having issues with her roommate (who was aggressive, mean and would keep her up ALL night doing things like put her socks on her feet and direct traffic). They do not separate the dangerous or seriously mentally ill from those that are there for addiction, depression or other. You are just put with whomever. My sad roommate was very large and needed help going to the bathroom, showering, brushing teeth, etc.- the entire time I was there, no one helped her with anything. She did not use the bathroom for ANYTHING once. She had one accident during the fire drill, but I noticed she was not eating or drinking anything, and none or the orderlies noticed. It was awful! When I told them, they tried to tell me she was eating, but there were others who spoke up as well, and then they sat with her and tried to get her to eat (which she didnt). I still worry about her, because that light was still out and I knew no one was paying her any mind since she was quiet. read more
