I had my solar system installed in september. I waited until now so i had a gauge of how it performed over several months as well as time for any kinks to show up. I called 3 different contractors. All 3 used a mapping program to get an estimate of how well solar would work before installation. One company said solar wouldnt work at my house due to shading. They were wrong. the remaining 2 companies send people to my house to do an onsite evaluation to finalize a proposal. Circulars was the one that seemed to fit my needs. My goal was to provide in the neighborhood of 60-70% of my electrical from the sun. Installation wasnt without flaws. the actuall installation took only one days. it turned out there was a problem with teh inverters that took a couple of weeks to correct. It wasnt the fault of circular but was an inverter specific issue. Circular stayed on top of teh problem and got it resolved. after operating for 4 month my utility came out and said there was a problem,in that I had the wrong meter and no agreement with the utility. this was something I ahd though circular had taken care of. It turns out that the agreement WAS in place and the utility had misplaced it. Thats why the utility hadnt replaced my meter. They came out and met a circular rep and the meter installation took only a couple of minutes. Again I cant fault circular for someone elses issue. After 3 years of great uses of my solar system my SMA shutting down . Try calling Circular and they moved to Dallas. Email them and they gave my information out to some installer. Try email again and no reply. The reason for the review is they want your business but they don't take care of you in the long run. read more

I was intentionally waiting to write this review after having gotten my Solar installation done in August so I could factor in the impact on my energy bills over several months. The process to getting solar panels installed isn't a quick one no matter who you go with. It starts out with getting bids from several companies and then there are a bunch of things related to rebates and dependencies on the City before you're finally enjoying the benefits of Solar, but so far I couldn't be happier now that it's all done. I got bids from 3 companies including Circular, and both of the other companies I talked to sent sales reps to my house while Circular went through their presentation over the phone. Circular's planned system included enough panels to generate about 2/3 of our historical energy usage in a year and had comparable rate of returns to the other companies. After I had the three initial bids/plans, each company had to make a determination whether Austin Energy rebates would be attainable given the direction and pitch of my roof line. The other two companies sent different reps to get on my roof and they both couldn't say for certain how much of their planned systems would be rebatable. Circular was able to make their prediction remotely via satellite imaging which was quick and convenient and they were certain the plan would qualify for the full rebate given the precision and accuracy of their software. This made the choice an easy one and as it turns out, they were completely right. The Circular customer rep that I dealt with throughout the process was always extremely responsive and helpful even on nights and weekends. She got me in touch with the right people to get an energy audit on the house and address things like leaky duct work and adding insulation to the attic which was required for the rebate. She also handled communications with the City of Austin for getting the necessary inspections done and for filing for the Solar rebate. For the installation, Circular sent a large team to the house to put the panels and inverter on my house. In all this took less than a day to complete. It was obvious from looking at the finished install that their team did a high quality job securing the system to the roof. All that was left was waiting for the City to complete their inspection (there are at least a couple) and then install their meter. This ended up being the longest pole in the process - in all this took just over 3 weeks after my system was up and ready to go. Now that I've had over 4 full months with the system enabled, I say without hesitation that it was totally worth it. I still had a bill above $0 in August but it was over $130 less than last year - I realize the usage from year to year may vary but this is a significant difference. And the last 3 months have resulted in a net credit each month which get applied to my other City of Austin utility bills. In all, the actual savings have been higher than the projections which is a nice surprise. I highly recommend Circular Energy as a solar provider based on the totality of my experience. They delivered on all promises and exceeded my expectations when all was said and done. read more

At one point in time I thought that this company was great,.... however, if you ever have to have your system serviced, they are a NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!! I have literally sent 15-20 emails over 1 year AND 2 months now and my system is STILL NOT WORKING!!!! HOW LONG SHOULD IT TAKE CIRCULAR? Their service department SUCKS! I shopped around and got several proposals from solar installers in the area. The one which stood out was Circular Energy. They were able to answer all of my questions and responded in a professional, timely manner. Melissa, the rep I was working with, was very helpful with getting the paper work done for the solar rebates. In fact, she did all of it for me and just showed me where to sign. In the end they installed a high quality solar array on the roof of my house at a great price. I can't recommend them enough. Circular Energy was professional before, during, and after the installation of my solar photovoltaic system at my residence. Vincent is intelligent and knowledgeable, asked about my goals, and listened well. The documentation and proposals provided before the contract was signed was comprehensive, I cycled through a number of proposals until I made up my mind, and Circular was very patient and responsive. Vincent, Tomas, and J.C. were available as needed, and their crew, Rene and the rest were engaging, listened well, were clean neat, and as quiet as can be expected. They also well-handled my quite difficult rooftop. My selection process involved visiting the Austin Energy "approved installers" list, visiting the various web sites, and contacting my top 5 choices. Of those 5, only 3 responded. Of those 3, only 2 responded to a request for an estimate. Of those two, one nearly fell off my admittedly treacherous roof and (not too surprisingly) never responded again. Regardless, Vincent made Circular easily the top choice. Circular has also done very informative (and not "salesy") presentations in the area. read more

Circular Energy installed 6.25KW system in August 2012. They put 14 panels on the south side of the roof and 11 panels on the west side. Installation took 2 days. It's been more than a year and we did not have any issue so far. As for the production: Our production exceeded Circular Energy's estimates (I guess they use government's PVWatts for estimation). Production exceeded estimates in every single month between 4% and 38%. Note that this may be related with the unusual sunny weather (i.e. drought) in Austin area. The yearly estimate was 7,550KWHr, but our system generated 8,867KWHr energy (+17% difference) in the first year. read more

Oct of 2012 the solar companies were going door to door in Sunset Valley as it was the beginning of the new budget for the fiscal year and solar rebates from Sunset Valley were available as well as from Austin Energy and the 30% Fed rebate. I was approached to do business with Circular and agreed to do business with them as the sales guy was rapid response and seemed honest. My neighbors next door had done business with them and even threw a get together at their home so I thought if it is good for them then it must be good for me. The neighbor two doors down even wanted to do business with Circular. I only had two requests and I was told that they had the same ethics and could accomplish the mission. I wanted all USA or German made parts from the railing to the panels to the inverter, no other foreign made parts. They said we can do that. I also told them I wanted ALL AMERICAN labor. They said they could do that too. Jan of 2013 swings around and my neighbor is getting her solar array installed. I tried talking to the laborers and they did not understand me when I was asking questions about the railing system they were installing. I then spoke my second language, being fluent in Espanol, and they understood me perfectly and could converse with ease. Hmmmmmm... Next day the panels arrived, they dropped the pallet on the street near the curb of my neighbor's house. I'm next in line to get dolar installed from this company, so I go take a look at the panels because I love technology and I know to look things over carefully before you buy. To my dismay, I saw large "Made in Taiwan" labels on each and every one of the solar panels. Being laid out in public domain I went to go get my digital camera and take pictures so that I would have the proof as I had already decided I'd seen enough NOT to do business with Circular. I immediately called the sales representative that I had been commnicating with and explained everything in detail and he let it go at that. Lost sale because of lack of honest business ethics. I then went to Yahoo and posted a negative review and it stayed up for a while until Yelp got with Yahoo and now Yelp is the review site for Yahoo I believe? Fine with me, I like Yelp! That was not the end though, I kept getting e-mails from them and I had explicitly told them take me off of their mailing list. Took several weeks for that to happen. Then around November they send me a wonderful brochure and thanked me on the purchase of a solar system and tell me if I refer a friend and they buy a solar system, then myself AND the friend would receive a large screen LCD TV for FREE. Hmmmm, after everything that I experienced, do you think that I would recommend Circular to anyone? Trust this honest veteran, there are better and more honest solar companies out there, do your research and take your time, it is your $$$ and your investment! read more

We had our solar panels installed last year with a total project cost of over $33,000. We did not have a monitoring system installed so we have no way of knowing how much we produce or use from the 24 panels installed nor any way of knowing if they are producing what we were told they would. We naturally thought a monitoring system would come with the purchase price, but when we inquired shortly after the project was completed, we were told it would cost an additional $800 for the monitoring system. Now this of course would have to be an out of pocket expense because we could no longer incorporate the cost into the financing we obtained. For this reason, I only give them 3 stars read more

I had circular install a large solar array on my house, and they did a great job. All of Circular's employees were super nice (from the sales office, to the installers, and the young lady scheduling everything). The installers were very detailed--I even checked to make sure all lag bolts hit rafters, which they did. At one point, the electrician spent probably an hour or more on one complicated conduit bend so that it would be atheistically pleasing. No wires were left hanging, which I have seen on a few solar installs in my neighborhood. I highly recommend Circular Energy. read more

Please ask for Paloma Guerreo when emailing or calling for information on Solar panels for your home. I wanted them for my home and Paloma was straight forward with me, at first, more than I wanted to hear. After researching Google Earth, I was told that my three 60 year old oak trees, which we love, would have to be cut so much that it would ruin the beauty of the trees. Paloma said that it would be my decision, but we opted not to get the Solar panels, and save our trees. No hard sell here , just true honesty, and professionalism. Installation great. And a lot of money was spent for this system. But they are in Austin and I'm in San Antonio.  If you have a problem Circular Energy won't acknowledged you when you contact them.  You can call.  You can email.  I have reached out to SolarEdge Solutions.  They are in California and contacted me quickly and offer some help.  But if you need hands on.  SolarEdge Solutions says you must contact the installer.  SolarEdge is a good system.  But once installed, if you have a problem you are not going to get much help from Circular Energy.  Recommend you find a better company.  Your warranty promises a lot.  But try to get the service promise and you will have a great deal of problems to make it happen.  I'm working on try to get a phone number or email of corporate Headquarter. If and when I find this I will post so other can contact SolarEdge headquarters about this particular vendor. If Circular Energy installed it, they need to acknowledge that you contacted them. And at some later date will restore the system to fully operational. But that is not happening. read more

BASICALLY THEIR SERVICE IS NOT GOOD. WILL NOT RECOMMEND THEM. Got my SunPower 5 KWatts system installed from Circular Energy Austin in 2013. Transaction and installation for the system very smoothly. At the time of purchase and even it is in SunPower warranty it says that if the product fails it will be replaced and even labor cost will be paid. In early 2016 noticed that my electricity production had fallen to half. To make sure monitored it for 15 days before calling Circular Energy. Firstly they started pointing fingers to neighbors trees etc but eventually they sent and electrician to check. The electrician found the problem was with the inverter. The inverter got replaced but the labor had to pay out of pocket. At the time of initial talks, Circular Energy had clearly said and it is also printed in the warranty documents of Sun Power that if there is any fault it will be replaced free of cost to the end user. Which was the main reason for buying SunPower system. Circular Energy instead of helping, are not even bothered to respond to emails. It has been more than 6 months and have been sending them reminders but till date no meaning full response. read more
