What a NIGHTMARE! I walked into my first appointment and the doctor was SCREAMING at the patient in there before me. A little unsettling to be sure. Then, it was my turn. What a condescending, arrogant, RUDE, asshole! I have never had a worse experience at a doctor's office. He was snotty and completely dismissive about everything. Then the nerve conduction test...which if you can avoid, do. I swear he cranked it up just to annoy me. Painful, horrific and he zapped me 2 more times after I said to STOP. Although this man is competent, He is probably the rudest man, certainly the rudest doctor I have ever met. I have seen him talk to patients who have burst into tears and left his office never to return again. He is condescending. He refuses to communicate . He will not recommend any other doctor Even though he will describe to you Problems you have that he cannot or will not treat. Twice he threatened to cut off my pain meds prescriptions If I did not let him work on some of my injuries. Having severe arthritis in my knee , and needing immediate relief through what is called supartz injections, you told me it would be 10 days before we could start that process. I had to go to an orthopedic surgeon to get it done as I could not walk and was in great pain. When I returned to him 3 weeks later he told me I needed to find a replacement for him. He was no longer interested in treating me and was very disappointed that I had the procedure done by another physician. read more

Dr Citek routinely is the on call doctor for the answering services for various doctors and practices along the Central Coast. i have dealt with a doctor that has such a low level of interpersonal communication which when coupled with the medical emergencies he is meant to handle creates a situation that very closely borders on gross medical negligence. People he communicates with via the telephone should still be able to receive courteous professional and ultimately humane care. Dr Citek is a disgrace to the medical profession. read more

Came in for a follow-up EMG for a Worker's Comp. Dr. Citek was confrontational and rude as soon as I entered the joy. No warmth. No compassion. No caring. This test felt more like a cross-examination. When my toe was TWITCHING after a lengthy round of shocks and other prods, he demanded me, quite rudely, to "stop moving my toe up and down." Sir...this is a TWITCH. It didn't help that I asked him to "please be nice" within entering the examination room because he kept confronting the information I would give him. Of all the doctors I have had through this 2 year leg injury, this was BY FAR the worst experience I've had. Rude. Just rude. I have never felt more uncomfortable in my life until today. My mother is a CRNA and she was the one who implored me to leave this message as well as contacting everyone I could, including my lawyers. The visit was simply THAT BAD. Be prepared if you have this doctor for WC concerns. But I would never visit him, ever. Period read more

My entire family and I have all been seen by Dr Citek at one time or another (yes, we're a little clutzy)... My husband however is permanently disabled and Dr Citek has been his overall specialist and pain management Dr. for almost 16 years. He is one of a very few REAL pain management specialists on the Central Coast... Will he dole out drugs for just any ole reason to keep you happy? NO! Will he sweet talk you and baby you at every visit? Nope (we think his dry sense of humor is awesome). But will he truly bust his butt to figure out what's wrong, call things as they are, help you help yourself and truly treat someone's pain? HELL YES he will! If you're looking to be coddled, buck the system or milk an injury for all it's worth, find another Dr - HOWEVER, if you're looking for real true medical assistance, we couldn't recommend anyone more highly! read more

I was referred here for a work comp injury. When I arrived, The receptionist was very friendly and told me I had paperwork to fill out. I overheard the Dr from behind the counter complaining about something not being where it was supposed to be to his staff and he carried on and it seemed rather unprofessional. They led me to a room where the Dr. entered a moment later without closing the door he sat down and started going over paperwork. I said hello first. He was not friendly and treated me as though he had other things that he would rather do. I did not feel comfortable at all while I had my nerve test. Frankly, I think he enjoyed poking me with all those needles. Go somewhere else if you can! read more

I went there for the very first time and the receptionist in charge of workers comp treated me rudely very meanly very noncaringly and angerly!! I was very hurt... ! I sat in office for half an hr waiting...then she treaed me like this... all I wanted was to get info as to if my husband, who had broken his back who had a 10 hr surgery was approved to be a patient. She went off on me omg!! The younger receptionist was very nice to me...its the more mature? one on the left who made me cry..I asked when she told me he was on a wait list where was he on the list...she just said No...I have to put my foot down its lunch time....I said I guess you dont need any new patients...she didnt once say I will call u after lunch very easy to do...she just kept saying it is lunch time and she deserved taking lunch...I have worked for dentists lawyers doctors and waitressed...NEVER HAVE I BEEN TREATED SO UNPROFESSIONALLY AND MADE TO CRY BY A FRONT DESK PERSON EVER!!! Maybe the doctor is good but I will NEVER KNOW AS I will never EVER STEP FOOT IN THERE AGAIN BECAUSE OF HER TREATMENT....GEEZ sooooo wrong and sad read more

IN short, I was ignored, belittled, and shown no compassion whatsoever by this man. I suggest anyone that needs help with chronic pain seek assistance elsewhere. Shockingly unprofessional. When it was time for my appointment (after arriving early and waiting 35 minutes after my scheduled appointment) I hear a man arguing with an older lady walking thought the back area of his establishment.. Sounded like she was complaining about his attitude as well (later I will learn that she had good reason). Next thing I know, this older gentleman murmurs my name as he walks by the doorway into the back area.. seems like he didn't want to bother with any of the upcoming experience I was about to have. I looked around and then he came back, irritated that I had not understood his murmuring and said my name again.. It all went down hill from there. He pointed to a room and told me to go sit down.. inside the room was an odd young woman that was also very unfriendly and avoided eye contact or any greetings at all costs..The majority of the session was the Dr and what I guess was his "scribe" whispering to each other..The level of unprofessional behavior displayed was unsurpassed by any dr I had met prior to this.. This man is ready to hang it up.. he hates his job/life (?) and it is painfully obvious. RETIRE ALREADY DOC! This is the first time I have felt the need to right a poor review of anyone in the health profession. I feel that people need to know what to expect from this man. Horrible. STAY AWAY read more

without a doubt the best doc I've ever seen. I'm a 100% disabled veteran and deal with pain. if you're looking for sympathy look between s--t and syphilis in the dictionary. if you're looking for a doc who cares, knows what he's doing and tells the truth this is the doc to see. He's heard it all, seen it all so don't BS him. I recently saw a doc at Twin Cities ER who looked me in the eye, demonstrated extreme compassion and concern but it was obvious that since I wasn't bleeding or had a broken bone sticking out of my leg he could care less about my complaint. don't confuse bedside manner with competency. without a doubt, he's the best. read more
