In my experience, this Citgo often has some of the least expensive gas prices in the Hartford area. I live near here, so I don't really have the need to use the convenience store. But this Citgo has four two-sided rows of pumps and two cars can first on each side. I rarely notice any hiccups, such as out of order pumps. This is a reliable gas station. read more

This is still the cheapest gas on the pike. Hess sometimes matches the price for regular unleaded, so if it's packed here and you need regular, that's a great option. But, Citgo can be 30 cents cheaper per gallon for premium. You can pay at the pump, grab a coffee for a buck, and occasionally see an angry customer yelling at someone else who cut them off to grab a pump when the lines are long. This station, and it's identical cousin three miles down the Pike in Berlin, are generally speaking the two cheapest gas stations in the state of Connecticut. As of the date of this Yelp, the average price of regular gasoline in the state is $2.92, while this station sits at $2.67. Quite a difference when you've got a truck to fill (and a hybrid, so don't get THAT mad at me). I find that while other stations' prices fluctuate wildly, they do their best at these CITGOs to absorb price changes, and keep things as predictable as possible. It's nice to fill up your car and not come back the next day finding out that prices had changed by a large margin. Convenience store, air for the tires, no more car wash though. But -2 stars, because these places are most always ridiculously crowded during the rush hours, ESPECIALLY when gas bottomed out at $1.89 earlier this year. Not that I'm complaining about low prices, but if demand is so ridiculously high at their current price structure, doesn't that mean their prices are too low? Just sayin', economics 101! People here cannot read arrows. Most gas stations will not turn the pump on if a car is facing the wrong direction. They should follow this example. I'll be going to SAMs Club from now on. People there are not as ignorant. read more

Do not buy any tobacco products at this location, or any Citgo along Berlin Turnpike. They demand a Driver License and scan it. This against my privacy they are collecting data. I told them I did not wish for their collection of my PRIVATE information. They refused to sell me a tobacco product when I protested. I asked what they planned to do with my Private information, they could not answer. Citgo is perhaps using this information in Cahoots with the tobacco companies. Do not go there. There is no security of your private data. No information related to the collection of identifying information and I flipped out. Every employee copped an attitude. I told each one they had no right to collect my private information on a DL scan. Scumbags each one. Do not GO to this location or any CITGO to do any business whatsoever on Berlin Turnpike. Do not surrender any ID that is able to be scanned. It's a clear ripoff of ID and personal information to be used for fraudulent purposes. BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! don't buy gas there, don't do any business there. Your personal information will be compromised. Again, DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR ID. Although they demand it for purchase of any tobacco product. DONT! Now they are scanning it. Protest! Your information, name and address is being captured unauthorized. Go somewhere else for your gas and purchases. I am reporting this too to the department of consumer protection in Connecticut. They are using a Bar Code Scanner to scan your DL. This is a data capture device on the POS which enables them to sell or compromise your information. DO NOT GO THERE. You have been warned. Go to Cumberland Farms instead, or some other place on Berlin. Absolute Scumbags. Every employee had an attitude when I protested. Boycott this place. read more

Cheapest gas station that I know in the newington area.. Depending on what time you go you might hit "gas Traffic" especially mornings and rush hour it gets pretty packed.. Usually a line of cars waiting for gas. Staff is pretty cool as well. They've been helpful when filling my tires. Overall good experience! So has prices.. What's better?! read more

I used to go to this gas station every week. After today NEVER AGAIN!. I am pretty good at remembering the pump's number but today I did not. My son distracted me and we got to the register. I realized I did not look at the pump number so I asked the lady behind the counter if she knew what was the pump number behind pump 4. She was so rude. She pointed down and I asked her what happened and she pointed again at a sign which I could not read well which said "you are responsible for knowing your pump's number". Really?! I understand if you work there. You SHOULD know everything about your job if not you are slacking. Or if you are in training and don't know the pumps' numbers just asked a coworker. You should try to help your customers ( that's why you are there) It is not about the sign or knowing the pump's number (that's silly). But that's not the way to handle your customers. I felt disrespected. BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE. I did not pump gas there. I went to another gas station down the road. You lose a customer and you lose money. (maybe losing one customer it is nothing for you) but hopefully she changes her ways. read more
