Great customer service from Ana, Rosa, Grace and the staff of Citibank, Northridge, Fashion Ctr, 9051 Tampa Ave, Northridge, CA 91324. This was my first time to give a good review for this branch, which I should have done when I opened accounts with Grace in 2020 and then opened a CD with Rosa last year. This morning I went to the bank after 10:30 am which was one hour early (had an appointment with Rosa at 11:30am) who was with a customer. Ana, a banker/teller asked me if I need help. I told her that I have an appointment with Rosa at 11:30am however I have to go to the auto mechanic and I can't make it at 11:30am since it may take more than 1 hour for the car maintenance. Ana helped me renew the CD in few minutes which gave me enough time to go to the mechanic and I didn't have to come back to meet my appointment with Rosa. This review is for the drive thru atm only. FYI this is the only Citibank that has a drive thru that's closest to me. Been trying to make cash deposits the past 4 times at this atm drive thru, and EVERY single time it won't accept my cash. No, I don't deposit more than 50 bills (like stated on machine), and the cash I use is not wrinkled or damaged. So I don't understand why it won't take my money. I depend on this drive thru cause I always have my baby with me. It's just very frustrating and inconvenient that I have to take my baby out of his car seat and go down and make a deposit. Horrible customer service. Came in to cash my state check the gentleman who did not have a name tag or even a name post on his window deposited the check then put a hold on it. When I explained it's a state check and that I didn't want him to deposit but cash it he played dumb as if he didn't hear me . And told me he cant do anything about. I asked to speak to manager on was not available she was with a client and asked me if she can call me back as it will take a while this branch is always short staffed and the the staff her barely understands anything you are talking about. I tried to open a CD online through Citibank as their rates were pretty good. They had me open an external savings account from which to access money to be transferred to the CD. The process seemed rather complicated with them making small additions and subtractions from the account and then having me call them and tell them the amounts. It is a security protocol I am sure so OK I did that. Rep said fine the account would be open in 3 days. In the mail I received letters welcomin me to Citibank. However, when I checked I found no money had been deposited. Called them Said bank account was not operable even though they had made deposits and withdrawals to account Bottom line they told me they could do nothing and closed the account. They had no way to determine why the transfer wouldnt go through and it was up to me to find out why. I do not work for the banks involved. I am the customer. Since it worked for the small deposits and withdrawals, why didnt they find out what went wrong? Said they could start an investigation which would take some time. Really? There is a reason this Branch gets 1stars . They have no respect for clients or their times. Walked in at 3:50pm to see a banker to open an account, keep in mind only one person ahead of me . At 5:00pm during closing time i was asked "if I needed help" . After sitting there over and hr you get asked. No sign of management, except for this elder lady who was barking out orders to other employees. Even with 4 tellers they had a line of 6 ppl. They recently remodeled this branch and it looks very nice. Now I'm not too much of a fan of Citibank but they did a really nice job with this place. The ATM area is good looking, there are plenty of machines, everything is well lit. When I had to talk to someone I asked the information desk if I needed to go to the tellers or what and expected her to be really surly but she was very polite and was able to help me right there, and made me feel a lot better about what was quit frankly sort of a dumb thing-- I forgot my pin number after years of having it. I personally dislike that they have the windows facing out to the street and the windows are very wide so the ability to maybe look over your shoulder is increased, so obviously beauty won over functionality, but it sure is beautiful. read more

Came in on June 3 2017 asking for a print out of previous bank statements from 2013-2015 but was told that they have to order them so the request was put in but a week later on June 10 2017 I come back asking for the statements banker informs me will charge $5 each statement . I asked to speak with manager she never came out was busy with a dual for 2 hours. After a hour of waiting they finally agreed to waive the fee out of courtesy. I needed the statements for a emergency medical reason and the delay and fees caused more problems. I have been a customer with them over 20 years I haven't expecting trouble with them during the time of need. I was hoping they would have been more understanding. I was going to give them a 1 star but even after a wait of 1 week and 2 hours in the bank I'll give them 3 stars for their courteousness. read more

I am so appalled by the workers who pick up the phones for the Citibank corporation. My mom had questions about her account so She called the 1-800 number for Citibank and was talking to a man named George. He was then talking to my mother very rudely and when trying to give her his ID number ,because he's a supervisor, he used these exact words "B for beaner" and when She had tried to correct him and tell him it was very offensive because She is a Latina, he continued to use the word Beaner . I am very disappointed and still very shocked at the language that was used against her today. It was very unprofessional for a supervisor to say that. Unacceptable . I'm only giving decent stars because I appreciate one of the bank tellers who's always on point when I come, wish I could remember his name, and also because after Chris saw my irritation he gave me great customer service, he also was the one who signed me up for my credit card and the experience was great! however I'm very dissatisfied with the customer service provided by female manager (strong accent) I called prior to coming in for service I asked the older female manager (strong accent) if I should make an appointment for the service I needed done, I was informed that right now lobby is empty but no guarantee that it will be when I come (still didn't answer my question) so I assumed they didn't take appointments.. I asked if I would need to go to the window or sit down with someone, she said I need to see a banker I said ok so I need to sit down with someone, she said no you would need to see a banker, I said ok so I need to stand in line she said yes.. so I come in stand in line at this time Bank is empty with one person in front of me, 2 tellers at the window both with customers.. about 4 ppl walk in after me, one I guess made a choice to go to the atm instead of seeing a teller and it didn't go as planned so he apparently gets to skip the line and get helped (odd, he made a choice to go to the atm, his problem, not mine) anywho I finally get to the window and am told I need to "sit" with a banker lol go figure that's what I asked over the phone and she told me I needed to get in line ! So now there's a line to see a banker she tells me to sign in, I go to sign and guess what it asks... if I have an appt. at this point I'm super irritated.. Me being a communicative person I confirmed with her if I spoke with her and told her it was not ok that she gave me improper information over the phone (time is Money lady, you need to be clear on what the customer is asking and provide the proper info) .. which she sharply spoke back to me along with a side eye roll.. How are you managing a bank with that type of attitude ... it's no wonder this bank has stars in the Yellow with 9 reviews lol.. maybe needs better customer oriented management.. she works customer service by choice, she needs to handle situations a little better maybe add a smile and a sincere response for the miscommunication... read more

I'm only giving 1 star because it is required. The employees here are rude and inconsiderate. As a matter of fact I'm sitting in the branch writing this review waiting for someone to help me open a new bank account. I walked in here this morning trying to cash a check for a significant amount of money. The teller rudely informed me that I would need to open a new account since the amount was too high even though it's a citi bank check. Does this make any sense?? No! Regardless I said fine. The teller then calls over the manager to examine the check as if I'm some kind of criminal or something!! Possibly because I have tattoos? Who knows! Now I'm sitting in front of the manager who just told me she won't open my account because I am expressing my frustration regarding the unacceptable service they have provided to me.
