She was so very knowledgeable and friendly and took a huge amount of time to explain the origin of where they get their spices and also how to use them in a lot of ways. I ended up buying multiple packages of the recipe kits for some of the Indian recipes so that I can try some of the seasonings that I'm not familiar with prior to buying. I enjoyed looking at Dash & Albert rugs, throw blankets, throw pillows, scented soaps, pretty glassware, little dishes, Ina Garten cookbooks and sweet baby gifts. Everything was beautifully displayed and all of the fabrics I touched, whether it be dish towels or pillows, felt quality. The owner of Recycling Retro used to hang out at the Montsweag Flea Market, and I was simply devastated when one year I went back and she was gone. However, once I realized she had simply moved down the road to open an -entire store dedicated to pyrex- my tears of sorrow quickly changed to tears of joy. This place is literally the best vintage shop ever. Not only is everything beautiful, plentiful, and totally practical (STILL) for day-to-day use, but everything is organized by COLOR - the most visually aesthetically pleasing way to organize a shop. She also has a massive collection of pyrex she rotates in and out of the shop, and she's super knowledgeable about all things pyrex and related. Looking for that one obscure print? She either has it or is looking to get it. Seriously, this place is a bright shining beacon of 50s-60s (and beyond) glassware and bakeware, the likes of which I have never seen before... especially on the east coast. Reasonable prices, beautiful items, amazing selection, like, I could literally just go on. If you don't believe me, peak that instagram for a taste.
