Three months later - finally buying new car - go to take out down payment loan - Declined. Why ? ( I have high 700s credit rating ) Too many inquiries. I went down to the bank which I have traded for 30 years home and business and was told - wow you should have had a personal line of credit - I said OK how can I get one ? No - too late you blew it - too many inquiries. I then asked- ok so I have a US bank Credit card with a 20,000 limit with a zero balance but you cant "loan" me 20,000 ? Nope sorry. They refused to even consider any explanation after being a 30 year customer. Switching banks now - worst customer service ever.
