Too often I have wanted to run to get an apartment from the photos but when I got there it was a different story: Poorly maintained lawns, broken screens, very poor curb appeal. I'm no longer taken in by internet or photos, I go to the reviews first. So this is my review of Carrington Lane. What you see is what you get and more. The curb appeal is pleasing to the eye, the maintenance crew do a magnificent job and respond quickly to any need, the buildings are all in tip top shape and very recently renovated, the huge oak trees give you a feeling of being up north and yet the palm trees remind you that this is beautiful Florida. Whatever you need is rarely more than an 8 minute drive to such places as the mall, theaters, Home Depot, all sorts of restaurants and shopping. Should you need any medical care there are Urgent Care Facilities, a hospital and yes for Veterans a nearby large clinic. The downtown area is special to walk through, view the old but never abandoned building and store fronts, the park and so much more. You will never be bored. If you enjoy horses, tour the many horse ranches and mansions on a scenic drive. There is plenty to do in Ocala. I left the best to last. You can have nice buildings and grounds, pretty trees and amenities but if you don't feel it's home, it's not anything. Here is where Caitlin, Rebecca and Lindsay come in. They are the three women who make Carrington Lane not merely a house to live in but a home to enjoy, have fun and be proud to say: I live at Carrington. A lot of apartments offer something special at Christmas, Easter and other major holidays. Carrington Lane does that too but so much more. They are like thinking 24/7, how can we make our residents involved, happy and yet not be intrusive. They do it. I'm not a golfer but that never matter as the community gets 5 stars for all kinds of things to do. This isn't The Villages so there is not AS much going on. But was fine as it is not a zoo like latter either. You still have absolutely enough activities and fun clubs in OTOW. We really enjoyed the music both within the community and just outside the gate by Chandler Hills. Library, ping pong and wood shop were just a few of our favorites. Excellent fitness centers! Pools can get a busy at times but that's to be expected. Timing! Now for 3 stars. High HOA. Most places go up over time but it was pushing here. That said, you still get lots for the money. Put it this way. I wouldn't let $100 keep me from staying here. Personal advise. Wherever you move, OTOW vs the Village or elsewhere, look for a home that doesn't back up to common road. We lived on street with no road behind us. That was a smart buy living wise. Probably made our house sell that much faster, too.

We tried contacting him before returning to FL and got no response. We chose a Hotel in Lady Lake and went to the closest Realty office which was the Remax on route 441. This is where we met Realtor Gerrie C. Matias. We had a list of 3 homes we wanted to see and Gerrie made short work of making appointments. The first home was in need of repair and although it had a lot of promise it needed an architect and builder to make the home function. Feeling certain that there was better, we moved on to a home on Treasure Island with a million dollar view over Lake Griffin. The small home had been unoccupied and had needs but due to the super location we asked Gerrie to help us prepare an offer. The seller came back with a silly high counter offer and stated that the home was only for a special buyer. I took that to mean a "sucker" and we moved on again. We met Gerrie at the third home which showed much better than the previous homes. This seller was represented by some seemingly bipolar realtor. I could see Gerrie was not happy dealing with her but did what was necessary. An earlier sale fell through on this property and the seller didn't want a repeat. We made an offer and it was accepted but the contract was returned with a reduced closing time of 30 days. Gerrie recommended a home inspector and we had him do the inspection. He was thorough on some items but totally overlooked other pertinent items. I wasn't happy with him but we got the reports needed for home owner's insurance. We had an issue with her Remax office sharing the full inspection report (not just the required 4 point and wind mitigation) with the insurance company they own and had to purchase insurance elsewhere. We returned to our home state and began to expedite the mortgage process. We made calls multiple times every day in order to receive the mortgage in under 30 days and returned to Florida. It turns out that the seller was having difficulty moving out in time. We meet the seller at the closing without her realtor and come to find out that she had no "time of essence" issue and she found out the same about us. The seller's dumb ass realtor made that contract change without the knowledge of her client. As far as Realtor Gerrie goes, she was always available to us. She did everything immediately and nothing was overlooked. She helped us understand differences between Florida contracts and those of our home state. She dealt with a difficult seller and realtor. She got the most money off of the selling price for repairs that the contract would allow. I would definitely recommend Realtor Gerrie C. Matias if you are selling or buying a home in the Villages, the lake region, Ocala or Mount Dora.

If you review your camera footage, you will note that there was already someone present in the leasing office at the time I arrived. From my understanding as a prospective resident with a scheduled appointment, it would be reasonable to expect that staff would either acknowledge my arrival or provide direction if additional steps (such as formal check-in) were required. At no point was I approached or instructed to check in, despite being present during my scheduled time. Given the visible camera coverage throughout the facility, I was simply ignored. I arrived on time but are not greeted. The guest card was created only after I called a second time to follow up because I had not received a confirmation email. I have timestamped call logs reflecting my prior communication with your office. Lastly, I'm no longer interested in pursuing or securing housing with this overtly racist property. But, I assure you, this will not be the last of it.
