I also experienced very poor customer service from this office. Reaching someone by phone was extremely difficult. I left multiple messages for both the front desk and the doctor's assistant and rarely received a return call. On several occasions, I couldn't even leave a message because the voicemail boxes were full. The lack of communication was incredibly frustrating. Eventually, I was able to schedule an appointment and meet with Dr. Truong. During our consultation, I explained the symptoms I was experiencing as well as my previous negative experiences with other gastroenterologists. Dr. Truong reassured me that he would take care of me and emphasized that patient satisfaction was his top priority. An endoscopy and colonoscopy were subsequently scheduled and performed in March. The procedures went smoothly, and I later received a letter from the office with my results. However, instead of discussing the findings with me, I was simply advised to follow up with my primary care physician. This was surprising given the assurances I had received during my initial visit. I called the office again hoping to schedule a follow-up appointment to discuss my results and ongoing concerns. As before, reaching a live person was difficult. When I finally got through, I was told that the next available appointment was several months away. Given the symptoms I was experiencing, waiting that long was not reasonable, so I chose to follow up with my primary care doctor instead. To add to my frustration, the doctor's assistant contacted me approximately three months later to schedule a follow-up appointment. By that point, I had already sought care elsewhere. It left me feeling as though the results of my endoscopy and colonoscopy were not important enough to warrant a timely discussion with the physician. Called a week and a half ago, held for a long time, was dumped into voicemail, left message requesting a callback for an appointment--NO CALLBACK. Called this morning, held for about 8 minutes, then got a message that voicemail is full and to callback later--THEN I WAS HUNG UP ON. This office is run terribly. I just had my second colonoscopy with Dr. Sharma, which took place at Foothill Presbyterian Hospital (actually, I think it's now Emanate?), and it was as smooth as one could hope for. The entire nursing staff was wonderful, being very patient with me and my needle phobia. The anesthesiologist was such a soothing presence, and he took my mind off of things by chatting with me about running, the sorts of shoes I race in, etc. Then there was Dr. Sharma himself, who was also lovely and made sure to hat with me about my medical and family history. He actually remembered me from 3 years ago when I had the first procedure! Off to dreamland I go, and when it was over, another nurse gently woke me up, and seeing that I was still a bit groggy, let me continue to rest for a bit until I was properly ready to get up. It didn't take long, as the anesthesiologist nailed it, keeping asleep long enough not to feel a thing, but also not so doped up that I could barely wake up afterward (I have both woken up mid surgery before and been so medicated that I was unable to wake up for almost an hour after the surgery). I was referred to Dr. Patrick Truong back in 2022 and had an impressive and thorough interaction. Dr. Truong listened to my concerns and validated my wants. As a result, I had an upper GI completed that went very smoothly. Given the findings, I have returned for follow up as my former gastroenterologist did not impress. Again, Dr. Truong listened and provided solutions to my requests. I emphasize Dr. Truongs thoroughness as many doctors are quick to brush patients off and disregard concerns simply because of "age," I am 34, or lack of symptoms. Nonetheless, I highly recommend Dr. Truong if simply wanting to learn more about your concerns or for procedural purposes. Additional shoutout to Dr. Truongs assistant, Tina. Tina is also thorough and ensures efficient scheduling, review of procedures, and makes herself available for any contact. P.S. My scheduled colonoscopy a few days ago, admittedly, was a procedure I wasn't exactly looking forward to, as I can imagine is a perspective shared by friend and stranger alike. My first-ever gastro procedure, my reservations were calmed immediately by the professional staff at Citrus Valley Gastroenterology at San Dimas Community Hospital as they welcomed me with genuine caring, kindness, and professionalism. Erica (hopefully correct spelling) guided me in and quelled my inner worry with a natural ease, explaining thoroughly what to expect. Jen followed, my nervousness palpable, with a warm personality and bedside manner as she set me up with the saline prep. 'I think I'm gonna live after all,' I whispered to myself, half-joking, half-serious. 'Man, they're really nice here.' Then approaches Dr. Sharma to my bed---'the man, the myth, the legend,' I greeted him light-heartedly---with a disarming, welcoming presence that emanated effortlessly. I then felt even more at ease: 'I think I've just won the medical treatment lottery, can this be real?' my inner voice questioned. Dr. Sharma explained everything with clarity and reassurance, no less than the highly seasoned professional that he is. 'Let's do this!' I was indeed ready to roll. Speaking of rolling, I'd be remiss if I didn't give special kudos to Frank, who bed-wheeled me into the procedure room. "You're in for foot surgery, right?" he playfully deadpanned as he navigated me into the action room. 'No, no, wrong guy!' I played along, with a nervous laughter to boot. Frank is exactly what the facility---and a nervous patient---needs. The power of humor cannot be understated as a component of medical administration. Frank was the icing on the cake. Overall, a very successful, refreshing, and memorable experience! Dr. Sharma and his professional staff are to be highly commended. The next day I received a follow-up call from the facility, simply inquiring how I was feeling. Wow, what a nice touch. I believe her name was Cheyenne (forgive me if I'm wrong). This was the first time I ever had to have a colonoscopy. I was very nervous. Didn't know what to expect. Just things that you watch on YouTube from the time. I was there only had a wait a couple minutes before I was in the room. They are very nice staff there. Doctors stood real good care of me and I even got a nice warm blanket. Dr. Sharma was very nice. Took real good care of me. I was in and out less than 20 minutes and honestly, I did not feel any pain whatsoever. How surprised how fast everything went and I give him a five star after it was thrill he comes out and greet you and shake your hand and then you're off and you're ready to go home. Be aware they dont verify Insurance. my 1st time at this office. i actually like Dr. Snyder & the only thing i liked. but they make you pay for the visit up front without verifying your health plan coverage. my insurance has a health reimbursement account that auto pays all of my out of pocket fees and i am not happy to try to fight for the money back after they submit the claim & realize the contracted plan coverage I have.
