Newly opened and I cannot say enough good things about this place. Located on Miller Lane, Dayton, Ohio, where the Steak and Shake previously stood (I miss them too) with plenty of well lit parking, friendly service, especially Jane who took my order, and some of the best tasting food I've ever had. I started with a beef brisket sandwich with regular bbq sauce (they have 3 or 4 sauces to choose from), which was out of this world tasty, loaded onto the perfectly chosen freshly toasted bun, which did not taste like a lot of bread. So tender, hot, and plentiful for $8.99. The cole slaw was mouth watering and fresh, as was the 3 cheese Mac and cheese. For desert I enjoyed the banana pudding which was excellent. Fast service inside, nicely packaged, and still warm when I arrived home. Nice to know that there is still a restaurant that obviously cares about their business and tries hard to meet the appreciative public standards. I'm sold on this place!! read more

The City bbq in Centerville, OH was always finger licking good!!! we would go there at least once a month as our splurge, for many years. The food was excellent!!! we decided to try the Miller Lane location for the first time since Centerville location is much farther from our home. The brisket (which is my favorite) was so salty, I felt my blood pressure rise. The collards greens were full of large stems. It would've been nice to have more greens than stems. I gave this location 3 stars because the ribs and pulled pork were very good. Not sure if this location uses a different receipe to season their brisket but wanted to share my experience. read more

I was down near Dayton today as I live about an hour away, decided to stop at City BBQ to bring some food home. Service, helpfulness, quality is all good. There was one issue. I purchased the Judges Sampler with peach cobbler, some sandwich buns, and a tea. I also opted to pay extra for the larger two sides. Got home and unpacked the sack of food, the corn pudding and baked beans I had requested as sides were missing. Everything tastes delicious what we did receive. My caveat is for those who live more than a couple miles and you are going through any drive thru, check your complete order before driving off the property. In my haste, I failed to take that step. Since I live an hour away, it wasn't worth the cost of gas or time to drive back down to Dayton Miller Lane to correct the omission. read more

I absolutely love City BBQ. I've gone to several locations around the state, and the food is always very, very good. I live in Huber Heights, Ohio, so the City BBQ I go to the most is the Miller Lane location. While I'll give the food an A+, I would give their order accuracy between a C- and a D. 90% of the time they'll always forget something that I ordered. I've also heard this from other people who go to this specific location. I've been compensated a couple times for mistakes, but I would rather them get my order right as apposed to the compensation. I now check my bag (s) before I leave the drive-thru instead of getting home and realizing they forgot something on my order, and even then I'll notice something they forgot to put in my bag. I would typically go to another location, but the next closest location is in Beavercreek. So, if you go to the Miller Lane location, be sure to CHECK YOUR BAGS!!! because they will definitely forget something. read more

I always try to go inside to order because the drive thru does not seem to communicate with the kitchen. I was pressed for time and went thru the drive thru, big mistake. I always order the small end of the rib because if you don't you will get literally bones and gristle with hardly any meat. When I got home guess what I had ,six middle pieces that were inedible because there was hardly any meat on the bones and they were mostly gristle. I was very dissappointed to spend almost $30.00 on something I could not eat and had to throw away. I will never go thru the drive thru at the Citi Barbecue on Miller Lane in Dayton Ohio and I will think thrice before I patronize the restaurant again and I will warn all of my friend to never ever go thru the drive thru because this has happened to me before. read more

I was invited to this new location to participate in the Friends and Family night. I choose the pick 2 with the breast wing and 3 rib bones. My sides were the fresh cut fries, 3 cheese mac and corn pudding. Best chicken I've ever had! Ribs were delicious! The sides were perfect! Everything was hot and yummy! Corn pudding was my favorite! I was disappointed because I ordered the Motherload for 8 people and it was supposed to have 6 sides but I was missing my green beans. Then I ordered an extra half # brisket and pork and never got either. My group enjoyed the rest of the food so that's why I went with 3 stars. read more

My mother and I stood at the counter for at least three minutes before we were even acknowledged. The young lady at the register had her nose down and despite our arrival at the counter did not greet us not said that it would be a moment she just was engulfed in what she was doing at the time. When she finished her response was not I am sorry about your wait but we were met with a stare. Finally my mother advised we are waiting for you to ask about what we would like to order. The young lady then responded by laughing and saying "Oh you want to order" which is also not an appropriate response to guest. There seems to be a huge problem with their online ordering system concerning Door Dash. I placed the order several times and there was an issue with Door Dash cancelling it (more than once.) Thankfully Sam from City BBQ was keeping in touch me concerning the order. This was a working lunch with an auditor in house, like that's not stressful enough. Door Dash finally showed up, and because the order wasn't ready (because they kept cancelling it), they left. We ended up having to have someone go pick it up. The food was great, the customer service from City BBQ was also great, we were given a couple free desserts to make up for the mishap that wasn't their fault to begin with. The only reason I gave them one star is because I couldn't give them a 1/2 star. I ordered online on a Tuesday night, they accepted the order and 10 minutes later I get a text message from City Barbeque stating "Your order has been cancelled, please check your email for details." Frustrated I proceeded to check my email and the excuse from City Barbeque for canceling my order was the fact that "They were currently too busy to make my order. " I was staying in a hotel a half block away from this restaurant. I called them directly and asked if there was a wait or if I could get right in and they stated " We have plenty of space there is no wait." I looked out the window and I counted 7 cars in the parking lot. I am not sure how that is too busy but they will never get my money personally or when I travel for business. I will find other BBQ restaurants in the Dayton area and make sure that I tell everyone what happened. Shame on you City Barbeque for being lazy, there are restaurants doing everything they can to try and keep the doors open during this pandemic time in our world and because you are lazy you turn away business.
