After only getting an estimate Carstar Utzig, with no authorization to perform work, with no authorization to release information or photos, releases information and photos to insurance companies before you've even decided to use them for the repairs. Something about their relationship with insurance companies doesn't pass the smell test. And now, because of their actions the insurance company is refusing to repair all the damages.

Everything seemed to go well, until 6 months later. The car has no rust anywhere else on it yet suddenly there is all kinds of rust in the area that was repaired. I contacted Carstar again and sent them photos. Their response was that the car was already rusting when they got it and that they repaired the collision damage, not rust. Clearly whatever repair they did made caused more of an issue or maybe it is what they didn't do?. Shortly after buying the vehicle, it was involved in an accident caused entirely by another driver, and I brought it to Hesser's collision department for repairs. Communication and initial thoroughness were lacking. I had to follow up a week after dropping off the vehicle just to receive the initial estimate, which overlooked visible damage to a scuffed rim. Furthermore, because the car had only approximately 250 miles, I explicitly requested new OEM parts to restore it to factory condition. Instead of advocating for OEM components, the service team pushed to use aftermarket or used parts to align with the insurance adjuster's preferences. I expected a much higher level of customer advocacy from the dealership where I purchased the vehicle brand new. Due to these service and quality concerns, I can't recommend this place to anyone.

They gave me a free loaner car to use for the week and only expected that I return it with a full tank of gas. They got me into a loaner truck while they worked on my baby. They even re-glued the door ding guards twice after it left their shop. Everything was fantastic. It was a total 5 star experience! Fast forward to March 2018...... I hit a deer. Driving for 20 years and it finally happened. Called Budget before I even heard back from my insurance company. The girl that answered the phone was almost rude. I made an appt to bring my baby back in for an estimate and to glue those darn door guards again. Jamie came out and took pictures for the estimate. I told him that after the impact, my check engine light came on. He didn't seem to care..... He did assure me that he would check, and if it was deemed to be due to the accident, it would get fixed. He did not check the code at all at that time. I then asked if I could get a loaner truck while he fixed it. He told me that they never do that. He seemed more difficult to deal with. This is not the experience I got last time at all. Maybe he was having a bad day. So he went to get the estimate ready. I didn't even get a paper copy of the estimate. I had to find out the number from the insurance company. I called a couple hours after I left to see if it was ready, and the office girl told me very rudely that 2 more people came in after I left and he was busy helping them. That didn't seem to be a very good excuse either. I mean, I was there first. Shouldn't he have been getting my stuff ready instead of helping other people? So 2 days later, I finally get the go-ahead to stop by and pick up a paper copy of the estimate. The office girl basically threw it at me. That was THE LAST STRAW. So I cancelled my appt to get the front end repaired at this shop. But I still needed to get those stupid door guards glued back on. So I tried to set up an appt to do that. I was told that I have to leave work early so I could be here before 3:00. So, here I sit. In their lobby. Waiting while they glue those guards back on. I made sure to be here by 1:30. The last 2 times it took 15 minutes to glue it and be done. This time I have been here sitting for 70 minutes as of now. Jamie has said like 10 words to me, the office girl has walked past me 10 times and hasn't said a word. Also kind of rude. Honestly, I will prolly never return here to have work done.
