My first barber experience.... Loved it! I took my 1 year old son to get his hair cut. Michael did a great job and duplicated a photo I showed him of the haircut I wanted that he just glanced at! He was able to keep the attention of my son up until the very end which is an accomplishment in itself! The shop is really nice inside! The tinted window had me initially nervous since I didn't know what I was walking into but the inside is very modern and "barbershopie"! *update: the tinted windows were hanged to blinds which is much more appealing. Guy was so disrespectful on the phone. I asked him do you take cards. He says we take debit card. I say okay do you take credit cards. He says we take debit card. Okay well I don't have my debit card on me SO "do you take credit cards." He then hangs up on me. I call right back,"so do you or do you not, take credit cards" He screams, "I tell you three time, we take debit card!" And hangs up. Out of shear disrespect I turned around and went home. I still don't know if they take credit cards or not. If your gonna man your phone staff with disrespectful people who don't understand basic English, the you don't deserve your current stars. Extremely friendly accomodating people but my cuts there both times were sub par. The first time the fade was too high and I repeatedly requested skin tight but very low and fade up. The second time the skin tight but wasn't blended well on the fade. I was in a rush because I was on my way to an interview so I didn't check it out as thoroughly as I normally would. Mike is an amazing conversationalist as well as barber. I moved to Philadelphia from Maryland in April. I have been visiting different shops all over the city to find a haircut that was on par with my go to barber in Maryland ever since. I have finally found him!! I asked Mike for a skin fade and he went above and beyond. He took out his foil clippers to finish up and made my head silky smooth. I've only been here twice, but that's enough to leave a good review in my opinion. The first time I went the actual owner cut my hair. He is highly skilled and after chatting with me for a bit knew exactly what I wanted and cut my hair accordingly. I was very excited to find a good barber so close to where I live. I'll start off by saying that I've tried my fair share of barbershops and salons in the city, prices ranging from $35-$65. This is the best I've been to in Philly! I went to salons in Rittenhouse despite the hefty price because I just wanted my hair done right. I bounced from place to place until i was referred to City Clipperz. Been going here for about half a year now and haven't had one bad cut. The guy is precise and listens to suggestions while working with you to find the best cut. This spot is also good for families.
