The Hungry Chicken Country Store - Our chicken sandwich!

What a delightful place to enjoy a breakfast sandwich all day Love this place, so many cute things…read moreto commemorate your time here. Also delicious egg sandwiches bursting with goodness. Welcoming establishment friendly hostess. Picnic spot or a lovely park across the road. Plenty of parking.

There's a sign outside the store that reads "Area's Best Breakfast Sandwich". You know, what?…read more They're right. Not just that, but you get some bang for your buck as their sammy's (at least the one I had) were loaded and reasonably priced fer sure. From the outside and when you walk it it looks like a...little country store. And indeed it is, with the kinda stuff you find at a country store along with some locally made items. Everything from fishing bait to jars of pickled things. But behind the counter is a nice lady who not only runs the register, but also takes and makes your food to order. So taking that in account, it may take a minute, but really not that long. Seriously I've had drive through's take longer. Anyhoo, off their menu my eyes immediately went to a sammy called The Widow Maker. I mean with a name like that how could one resist? Here's the menu description: "WIDOWMAKER Breakfast Sandwich Are you HUNGRY? This will definitely fill you up! 2 eggs + cheese with all 3 meats (Sausage Patty, Applewood Smoked Bacon, Black Forest Ham).' Sounds like a lot and not just that, it looked like a lot. And to top it off, it tasted as good as it reads. Definitely filled me up. Can't speak of the other items on the menu, but the party I was with ordered different items and I can attest that they were just as happy with their food as I was. And though this isn't a sit down type of establishment, you can take your food to go, walk across the street with your sammy and coffee, find a picnic table and enjoy a nice view of the Mohawk River. Weather depending of course.

I can not believe I am the first to review this business. 36 distillery is right on route 5,…read morebetween the 103 bridge and the 890 bridge. It is in the old fire house turned into a distillery. I am not sure how long it has been there. I first noticed it when they had barrells painted on the side of the building. I looked up the website and saw that they made small batch local bourbon. I wa in! I told my husband we have to stop there. They seem to be open 4-8pm wed-sat. You can check their Facebook page for more info. It was a wed night around 6pm when we arrived. There was only one car in the parking lot, but there were open flags flying and the lights were on so we went in. There is plenty of parking right out front and on the side of the building. We were the only ones there. We walked in and an old cellar or barn smell hits you. It may be from all the reclaimed wood on the walls. It was dark and cozy inside. There is a bar and tables to sit at. They had beer and wine. They also had on site made, gin, vodka, and bourbon. The drink list on the drink board was great. Lots of choices for those who don't like their liquor straight. I chose the 36 bourbon on the rocks. The bar tender was very friendly and explained what the 36 was all about. He also poured a taste of the bourbon I was about to drink. This bourbon had many layers of flavor and was delicious. So good I bought a bottle. The bar tender said they usually have a food truck come on Fridays, and some Fridays they live entertainment. During the week they have light pub food. This is a great place to stop before you go to dinner or for a night cap. We are 100% going back and bringing friends. If you like small batch local liquor give this place a try. I was pleasantly surprised on how nice it was.
