But I notice that a certain type of older women there can be a little racist with how they treat certain people. They have nasty attitudes, think that we all are alike so they develop these attitudes to everyone based on how they look. They act like they are the ones giving use this benefits out of their pockets. I went in there the around the first of the year, not having any information or knowledge from anywhere that starting in the beginning of the year, they were taking just people with "Appointments Only". I just needed a few questions answered and one being if I had the right documents for my issue. The guard was cool. He was the one told me about the "Appointment Only" and said maybe someone will answer if I got the right person. Obviously I didn't. Not only did she not want to answer my few questions but had the meanest attitude with me, not even really giving me a change to ask her if I could ask her a question. She just told me to put my forms into the box in the by the door and I did. It's going on 4 months and I haven't heard anything concerning my issue. The messed up part was, I was waiting for a transit service to come pick me back up. I was inside the facility for 50 minutes as I watched her send away about 20 people within that amount of time. All except one man. He didn't have an appointment but she was willing to help him with all his questions

I took a Friday off of work to go get the license. The whole prior to that Friday I tried to get more information from their website but I kept getting a Server error. I also could not find a phone number to call. So after checking every day that week, we just decided to go to the clerks office as planned. We stopped by around 1 PM, first its very difficult to find parking in "downtown" Rockford. We walked into the office, there were 2 employees and zero other customers. A short woman walked over to use and rudely asked what we needed. We told her that we wanted to get a marriage license and she said we need an appointment. I told her of the issues we had with the website and lack of contact information and she disregarded it and said make and appointment. So we made an appointment for the following Friday. Jump to the following Friday, we show up and there was no other customers in the office. The same woman, I believe here name is Ava, walked to us. She asked if we had an appointment and we told her we were there for a marriage license. We went through the process at the counter, basically providing our personal information, swearing what we told was the truth, and paying the $20 in cash. All of that took 10 minutes. All of which couldve been done the previous Friday that we came in. She seemed to believe that her time was so important that we could only speak to her if we had an appointment. It just reaffirmed how government employees feel like everyone has to bow down to them. We were so annoyed after we got our license that she seriously made us schedule an appointment for something that took 10 minutes.

It is not up to me to tell the man when to pour. When I asked him to come back and fix the crumbling crete around the drain, he said if he thought it was bad enough he would, otherwise he would not. I explained that I paid for a job and expect it to be right, and he just kept saying,I did my best. He also said that I threatened him when I told him that I was going to BBB and Home Adviser. Needless to say. he never came back, because he said and I quote, "I dont care, I'm going back to Mexico next month."

Locations on different websites are a bit misleading, some directing you far away from the actual sculptures which are southwest of the Nicholas Conservatory along the Rick Rive Rec Bike Path. It's not too far from the Boys & Girls Club of Rockford, and you can park somewhat close to them but will still need to walk a bit. This is worth the adventure of discovering the spot though, as I'm not sure anything similar exists nearby. For me, as a big video game fan, these really gave me the feeling of being surrounded by giant stone warriors - except that you can take a picture with them. With the river in the background, you can get lots of beautiful pictures with them as a quartet, though you also want some closeups to get some of the finer details. Throughout the armor, there's definitely a mix of different colors and textures and these stand with a variety of different interesting poses. Overall worth a stop if you're in the Rockford area, but also worth a special trip to visit Rockford for other fun tourist opportunities as well, particularly during the warmer weather months.

The Rockmen Guardians statues is a fun thing to stop and see if you're in Rockford. Located along…read morethe Rock River, these statues are on the side of the Rock River Recreation Path. If you're going by car, the nearest street address is that of the Rockford Boys and Girls Club (1040 N 2nd St #1). Once you get there these 10 foot statues are impressive to see. This is a great photo opportunity. I highly recommend The Rockmen Guardians!

For 3 years now, I have tried to get the Rockford Chamber to sponsor events for the arts of music…read more There is a lady named Lynette Jacques who states that music bands are not good enough to play and that we are considered to be noise makers. She rather spend the Community funds on public events at the Women's Day Spa.(Unquote). This Chamber has a newspaper called, "The Voice" this paper says absolutely nothing about how they have supported the Rockford Community but how they can hold events that has nothing to do with any Community Projects. The mayor get more funding from this Chamber than any real community event. No one seems to be watching this lady's actions and she surely do not have the time to return a simple phone call or help assist in making plans to support any events for the Community of Rockford.2. My music band has been discriminated against for my color, and my gender of being a female by the 4th of July Committee and now that Joe Marino (who still has a statue in his honor for being just a yearly fire cracker), stated before he passed away, that My band was never the "Right Type" to play for the community of Rockford, when music is suppose to be UNIVERSAL. So here it is 2019 and the bad comments, racism and discrimination still continues........ One day we the musicians and singers of the world will over come......again some day.

But even so, I've…read morecome to this location twice in the past 4 years (renewing license both times) and in my opinion, this location exceeds what the reviews say. Comparing my last experience 4 years ago to this experience, I feel like they have a better system now with most everyone going to an initial "information" counter, then receiving a number and going to whatever side of the waiting room you need to go to based on your needs. Most of the employees are much more friendly than the movies and stereotypes give them credit for, and I was very pleased by the friendliness that they showed that I didn't expect. Granted, there are a few crotchety employees (what sector of government doesn't have those), but they were the minority in my experience. Also, I think if you treat them nicely, they'll show the same back. The physical place isn't anything to write home about. You can tell it's older but they keep it pretty clean. They have way too many signs on the walls, so you end up not paying attention to any of them. It didn't bother me, but just a suggestion for whoever handles the signs, it's overkill. My wife and I both came around lunch expecting to wait for hours, and we both renewed our IDs in 45 minutes from the time we walked in to when we left. Now, I wouldn't go in with that expectation, but I just say that to say they've become more efficient over the years and I'm definitely a fan of that!
