City Furniture is located in the lower level of the Ashley Furniture store at the Wellington mall. Ashley is a great brand but it's more traditional than I wanted. The lower level had the more modern things. I was searching for a tv console - -I didn't find what I wanted but there is a buffet that I might consider. The salesgirl who helped me was very knowledgeable about their merchandise and pricing. There is plenty of parking and the store is large so there is plenty to see. The moment there's an issue with your purchase, the responsibility suddenly becomes yours, and you're told you "should have read the terms and conditions" -- something they never emphasize while pressuring you into making the sale. I spent over $20,000 expecting quality products and customer service to match, but instead I was met with excuses, poor support, and zero accountability. For a company this large, the way customers are treated after the sale is unacceptable. If customer satisfaction actually mattered, they would stand behind their products instead of making customers feel blamed and dismissed. Extremely disappointing experience, and I would not recommend shopping here. To make matters worse, Kate, who appears to respond to Yelp reviews on behalf of the company, publicly replied to my review saying she would help me and even provided her email address. My wife and I came into the City Furniture Store in Wellington Mall looking to replace our master bedroom's mattress. Manager Robert Lange and Saleman Kingsley Denis were kind, professional, and focused on helping us to make the right decisions. City Furniture "F" vs. Macys. "A" We had a problem with a leather couch from Macy's (discoloring) and 6 leather dining room chairs (5 of them ripping) from City Furniture. Both pieces just about 3 years old. CITY: Salesman "A" Supervisor from Customer Service "F." She spoke to me with an attitude and continued to tell me "Our policy is we don't do anything if the furniture is more than a year old." I explained we only sat in the chairs maybe 10 times. I have an ongoing dispute with this store about its failure to deliver a table I paid for. It's been three days after the delivery date and I am still without the table I paid for. I also paid for premium delivery. I received neither. More details to follow. If you do decide to use this company be extremely careful with their delivery service. Don't sign anything when you can't read the dim dark cracked screen on the device they hand you to confirm delivery after you verbally confirm with them about what it says since it is completely unreadable. With regards to business owner reply: I already went to the store immediately on Tuesday to try to resolve this in person. I was denied a resolution and told I needed to wait for a stock audit that would take a couple days... Well it's been a couple of days and I've been in direct contact with my sales person several times in the last 36 hours and still no resolution! I doubt that emailing whomever manages the avalanche of City furniture's Bad Reviews will do any better. I gave them till noon today to resolve this. After that deadline I opened a dispute with visa. Your company is unwilling and unable to follow decent business practices. You can now deal with visa and all other relevant agencies that will take my complaints against you. First let me say, that I have multiple purchases from City Furniture. My review is based on their advertisement and lack of transparency. I went by the store and it said 30% off store wide and thinking everything would be discounted I went in and to my surprise the 30% was very limited. Similarly, I receive a mailing via USPS that says 50% off your next purchase , and the only way to use it is to call their service desk because there is no discount code. Don't even bother ordering from here. They're terrible At delivery and customer service. They never show up within the delivery window. First time they showed up 1.5 hours after 4 hour window. Ordered a bed (white), showed up covered in black stains. Then it becomes a full time job to get it fixed. After you finally get a hold of someone, they take weeks to replace the item. Suppose to have new item delivered now but they are over 2 hours outside delivery window and company can't get a hold of delivery crew. Told me I have to refuse the delivery to be able to reschedule it. It's been one nightmare after another with this company and no one will help. I ordered a couch and ottoman from this store in Dec 2023 and had it delivered to me in February. The ottoman was damaged and looked used - I was told it was on back order and i had to wait until early May to get a new one. May comes, and I was told it was not being delivered soon and there would be no guarantee when I would receive it. I filed a BBB complaint since this company has held on $550 for 4 months now. In the BBB complaint, City Furniture responded saying they've tried "reaching out numerous times " to reschedule the delivery of the ottoman, which is an absolute LIE. I only order items that they said they had in stock becauseI do know there are issues restocking their warehouse . My items were delivered Not on time but with no major delays. I submitted the claim of a missing item. The replacement delivery came in earlier this morning. After having my couch for a couple of weeks, my mom visited me and pointed out that my couch has a slight sag in it. After a couple of months the couch totally collapsed in the back! Update: I first want to say the Wellington store is amazing and now I see why. Megan the manager has more brains than the customer service manager or anyone I had to deal with about my missing chairs. Megan right away knew how to solve this issue without me having to explain. I was on the phone everyday with customer care and got nowhere as soon as I spoke with Megan not only did she have compassion and sincere apology in her voice she owned the missing chairs as if it was her business she was running. Megan and Dario saved me from canceling my order and going elsewhere. I would say if you order and are missing anything refuse the entire order or it will be HELL dealing with customer service. they sent 5 DEFECTIVE CHAIR DELIVERIES (before reading please note , not managers reply to this post below is a lie , they are not resoling issue ) ! I bought two reclining loveseats that were supposed to be top quality. I got one chair fine the other chair was lopsided . I had to wait five months for them to bring a replacement chair which showed up with lumbar switch broken. They brought back another chair that they swore would be inspected by a supervisor and that one was all rusted on the bottom like it had been sitting in water. I spoke to get another supervisor who said they would return the next one and make sure a supervisor handles it and make sure it's working they showed up with a chair that was stained and had a loose back and yet avain tbey insisted they bring another chair thatvwould be percect and i soected when they showed up they brought the wrong thing this time they bought a reclining loveseat that matched but not a chair and the reclining loveseat also had a broken lumbar switch. Dealing with customer service has been a nightmare. I offered to keep the loveseat if they sent a repair person over to fix the lumbar and transferred my furniture protection plan to the loveseat rather than the chair that I still don't have. No one would help me no response they asked that I pay $1000 more to keep the loveseat broken and they may be able to refund my money. They also offered me to return the whole set for a full refund. However given the delays of the furniture in terrestrial lately I will have nothing to sit on so I asked if I could keep it until I found something else and they said no. I am also waiting for a cushion on the couch I purchase from them that was staying. They say it's on back order you cannot speak with a manager no one knows what the other one is saying you can't reach anybody . From reading these reviews it seems that many people have had this issue of constant broken furniture that comes broken two or three times. Absolutely horrible experience with City Furniture. I ordered a $4,000+ couch online, and it was delivered in packaging. As I opened the packaging later that night, I found out that City Furniture sold me what appears to be a "used" couch under the guise that it was new. There was a large stain on one of the piece, of what appeared to be old urine, and numerous other stains on the other pieces. You could even see the pieces that City Furniture previously tried to "clean," but couldn't get the stains out. I spoke with customer service and they offered me a $200 gift card. Wow, thanks, a $200 gift card for accepting a used couch that was supposed to be new and cost me $4,000? Absolutely ridiculous. I advised that that I'm not here to haggle and for them to come pick up their used couch and issue a refund. The response that I got was that, upon delivery, you can no longer return an item, even if it has a defect. Then when I had to reschedule There accommodation was to give me premium delivery which I had to fight for.
