It's quiet. The ladies at the front desk were absolute rockstars. We just wanted to leave our backpacks and come back in the afternoon to check in but they let us check in when we got to the hotel at 8:30am without hesitation! They were super nice and friendly. There's a restaurant in front of the lobby. Our stay included breakfast but we left before breakfast hours. Our room was huge. Lots of cabinets and storage space. Our balcony had a nice view of Matterhorn and has two chairs. There's a separate living room with a TV, couch and seats, and a dining table. The bathroom was a good size with a separate shower and a tub. There are robes and slippers in the cabinet in the bedroom. A few steps outside the hotel, there are restaurants, cafes, chocolate shops, shopping, museum, a church and it's just picturesque. It's a beautiful place to be. They have little e-trucks that look like tuk tuks that can take guests/ luggage around/ to/from the train station. But we didn't need it since we didn't have luggage and the train station is like a 2-minute walk.

Had issues with the TV but staff came and fix the issue within 3 mins. They also offer free pickup/drop off from the train station. We choose this hotel due to its close proximity to the train station. No issues with notices from trains. Walking distance to city center. Front desk clerks all courteous and professionals! Satisfied with the breakfast spread. Enjoyed their assorted fruits, breads, cold cuts meats, hot items i.e. eggs/bacon. Hana did an amazing job/service during our two breakfast visits. He's really helpful and breakfast, though typically Italian and not really to my taste, is very good. The place represents good value for money in an already expensive town. There are a few downsides though. First, it's difficult to get to with ski boots on. You have a long flight of stairs to contend with no matter which side you approach from. This would be fine if it were just boots you were wearing as the ski lift is very close, but if you're carrying skis it's a task you'll dread every evening! The ski lockers are excellent and very secure but also tricky to get to - yet more stairs! To mitigate this, they have a deal with the ski rental shop next to the ski lift. You'll get a 20% discount with them and they let you store the skis there overnight. If only we'd known this before booking our rental online at a place that's a bit of a walk away (but still on the way to the other lift in the village)! Overall, if you're coming to Cervinia despite my review of the overall ski resort, this place is really lovely and I'd recommend it!

We work in tourism and I myself travel often visiting different hotels and areas across the globe. We were very excited about our stay here and ready to relax. Upon arrival, we had booked two rooms for our group of five. We have stayed in many reputable hotels already on this three week trip through Europe and I always call the booking company to make sure there are no issues with us having three people in a room together. They had said everything would be alright. Upon check-in, we were greeted with a look of disgust from the young lady behind the counter as if we didn't belong there. She was extremely upset we had five people and not two per room. I explained the situation and she said it was against policy to have additional people without a charge. In the end, we agreed to pay the charge. However, the way the entire situation was handled was extremely unprofessional and has left a foul taste in my mouth. She didn't once apologize that we had been giving misinformation or explain any of the issues stated above in a kind way. She was abrupt, rude, and extremely judgemental. Maybe because of our age which is ridiculous. I run a production company as a profession and if I ever caught an employee of mine treating people the way we were treated I would be utterly ashamed. We have also called the front desk to ask a few questions and have been brushed off, no professionalism, no accommodation, no hospitality. An establishment of this caliber shouldn't brush off paying guests. Hopefully, this experience improves, but we are off to a horrible start.

We just…read morespent two nights in Zermatt and Hotel AMBiANCE was a sanctuary for our stay- centrally located but away from the crowds of Bahnhofstrasse. Room was a Junior Suite with Matterhorn view. Incredibly comfortable, clean and well designed to have space to relax and decompress. Room matched pictures and exceeded it as you can't see the room's balcony in the photos. That provided a wonderful place to sit in the early morning or at sunset to watch the alpenglow. The inn is family run and the pride of ownership comes through in every detail - Stephanie and Alain were wonderful hosts. Breakfast selection was perfect for diverse tastes/dietary restrictions - critical when traveling with others :) Inn includes a sauna and whirlpool to allow you to relax after a long day of hiking, skiiing or other adventures. Overall, highly recommend!

Of course, none of this is the fault of the hotel or my party. Bad things happen, it is how you deal with them that counts. I booked through their site directly - cut out the middle man and increase their margin - so I thought I was doing them a little favor. We knew at least 1 week ahead of time that we couldn't make it into Zermatt and let them know. Unfortunately, they refused to give us any refund or credit - I guess they are following their rules. At the same time, we are out thousands of $$$ because we tried to help them out a bit. My advice is to NOT book directly with this hotel, instead, work with a booking company that will protect you in case of odd circumstances. I learned that the Ambiance is going to return any favors... Finally, I will note that all (4) of the other hotels and condos (in other parts of Switzerland) gave us our money back without question or hesitation.
