Went and got just shellac on my original nail the guy was very rough and rushed through it I asked him to fix it and he had a attitude :( 3 weeks ago I had another guy there speed through filling my nails his machine came out of his hand then cut my finger so Tina fixed my set from him .. this time I decided to let my nails heal and just do shellac well it was rushed my polish is all messed up , off my nail and just a mess . I definitely won't be back I tried coming back after my last bad experience thinking maybe they were just having a bad day but not to keep having bad experiences I definitely don't recommend them read more

Horrible experience!!! I got a manicure and a pedicure done as a gift from my daughter in law. The worker rushed the whole process. My cuticles and the edges of my nails wasn't tidy as they should be. The paint job on my nails looked like it was just slapped on. My pedicure didn't even look like I had them professionally done or done at all for that matter. My feet and nails basically looked like a 2 year old had done it. I made a complaint and was told to come back the following day to have them redone. Once I arrived I was told the manager wasn't available and couldn't do my nails today. A couple of other customers were upset as well. I had to go find another place to have my nails redone as I had an event I needed to go to. read more

So I stopped in today to get a new set of gel nails applied, and my manicurist was Tweety. That was by far the most painful experience of my life with this, my right hand she took regular nail clippers and started using those to try to clip my filing directly from my nail, I said ouch like 4 times and she kept at it, then she tried using a nail tip to dig under them and caused pain with that too before it finally occurred to her to try filing them down and soaking them off. I have never in all my years of getting my nails done actually said OUCH to a nail tech. The end result they look okay, so not worth the 60 bucks I paid and I will not be going back! read more

This place is clean, but a little hard to find. It is tucked in the corner of a strip mall. The staff is nice and there are plenty of mani and pedi chairs. It's not busy mid-day during the week, which was nice b/c I had my technicians full attention. She was so nice! I'd come back again and would recommend it to friends. read more

Came here for mani-pedis with my mom. In town for a wedding, and this place had the most decent reviews, so I made an appointment for us earlier in the week. No frills little salon, but that's fine since we just wanted to get in and get out. Brought my own polish because I'm picky like that, and had read that another reviewer said their color selection is odd. After looking at the selection I'm glad I brought my own. My mom did find a nice color for her toes though from their supply. Pedicure part was nice, but the massage chairs are weird- never have been in one that has butt massagers before! My mom said that her leg and foot massage was wonderful- my girl did a quick leg massage no foot massage though. However, she did do a great job scraping off calluses with a razor (they can't do that anymore in IL salons). Manicure was your basic manicure, however, I am super picky about how my nails are filed, and I wish I had asked her to give me a finer file so I could do the final smoothing out. I did not and of course have found rough spots that will probably get filed down later today. Oh well, that's my own pickiness and problem. Real reason for only 3 stars is the price. $40 for mani pedi is rather expensive, and this is coming from Chicago people! Our usual places at home are much less expensive! Overall though, this place did in a pinch and our nails will look lovely for the wedding tonight! read more

By far the worst nail experience I have ever had!! I went there for dip manicure and he ended up putting acrylics on my nails. I also asked for almond shape nails, but you could say they look more like stiletto. Not even 12 hours later my nails broke because of how small and pointy it was. Called the next morning and asked if they could redo them or even just reshape them, but their response is that they don't do things for free. Doens't even deserve one star is I could do zero stars I would!! read more

I would not refer anyone I know or come across to get their nails done here. For the most part the whole staff is very unprofessional. It's two that I believe are there to work and be professional. I've been going to City Nails for quite some time now and my regular nail tech is Tweetie. Tweetie is so rude on every level, but I deal with her because I like the way she doe's my nails (and that's about it). When customers enter her shop she/they only acknowledge certain ones (me being one, she doesn't say anything until I sit in her chair). Then it'll be someone that enters after me and they'll say How can I help you, what do you need today, we'll be with you shortly. Yet still hasn't said two words to me. Tweetie will start my nails and then tell me to go over to the Pedi chairs so that someone else can polish my toe nails. Then when that person is done I still have to wait, because she has sat someone else down in her chair. so what's the point of making an appointment if you still have to wait? There are times she said things to me and we might disagree, and she start speaking in her language to her staff and I know it's about me because every single one of them are looking at me. There was another time I went into the shop around 5:oo p.m. after getting out of work and Tina told me that I would have to come the following day because it was only two of them. At the time it was two in the chair and one waiting. I was told by a friend that she went in that same day and got her nails done and that she didn't have an appointment. I tip Tweetie very well and I spend good money with her to be treated like cramp. I'm now fed up after trying my best to stick it out. I'm in the process of finding somewhere else to go get my nails done. So word to the wise DO NOT GO HERE...TAKE YOUR MONEY TO SOMEONE THAT WILL APPRECIATE YOU. And treat all of their customers the same. read more

While in Jackson for the afternoon, we decided to get a manicure. Looking online, City Nails had a 4 point rating so we decided to try it out. When we arrived, we asked about getting two manicures, we were told it would be about 20 minutes. We decided to wait. After about 49 minutes, my friend was called back for her manicure. I continued to wait, all the while being disturbed by an adorable 7 year-old who was in my face, flicking different parts of my body and insisting that I try the ramen noodles she was eating out of the package. BTW, I love children. Sophia was a bit much for me. After my friend was finished, it was my turn. The same man who gave my friend her manicure, called me back for my manicure. I showed him the sample color that I wanted and he began the manicure. After filing and roughing up my nails, he left me to soak and said he would be back in a few minutes and proceeded to start a pedicure on the other side of the salon. A few minutes later, Tweety, the little girl's mother sat down and continued my service. When it came time to polish my nails, I discovered that the polish wasn't anywhere near the light gray color on the sample pallet I had chosen. I asked for the "color" I had chosen. Seemingly annoyed, Tweety went to the rack and picked out a light flesh colored polish. I told her I would like something light gray and asked if she had anything closer to the light gray. She went back to the racks and returned with two more polishes and tried one on my nails and I said,. "no, thank you". She tried the other one she brought to the table and she said, "yes, this looks better with your skin"...WTH?!? I decided at this point that I had wasted too much time already and just let her polish my nails with what she decided I should have. Did I mention that her daughter was in my face several times during my manicure?!? I am ALWAYS happy to pay good money and to tip well for good service...not at City Nails for sure and I definitely will not be returning. read more

No Frills but it's a cheap pedicure ($25). Furniture is pretty old school, except for the massage chairs for your pedi (very nice). There are two tv's in there. The nail polish was a little weird. They had a wide variety of colors for sure, also a wide variety of brands, they had OPI but they also had L.A nail (like the dollar store one). Majority of the polish bottles were half empty and some were obviously old because there was a bit of dried up paint in some. It's weird because I don't ever think i've seen a nail polish bottle in a salon that was half empty (or half full) any way the person who did my pedicure was very nice and chatty but not overly chatty :-) again it was bare minimum. No fancy lotions or warm towels or hot rocks or anything like that. read more

We have been going to City Nail for over a decade, and have been very happy. Last year, however, I believe they changed ownership, and the services went downhill. I called three weeks prior to my daughter's wedding to make appointments. When we arrived, there was no record of the appointments made. Two guys were apparently the only ones free to do our pedicures and manicures, and they both did terrible jobs. Lumpy polish with lots on the surrounding skin. We were devastated. I paid, but went home and redid them all. I returned two times after, and was always assigned to the same two guys. Their skills are in no way worth the fee they charge. My daughters and I will sadly not be returning. read more

Much to my surprise when I got there they did not have the kind of brand that I was looking for and he had lied to me on the phone when making the appointment when he clearly said, yes we have it.
