They dont even do gel paint or colored acrylic here. I was in town for a wedding, didn't get my nails filled before leaving as I didn't have time so I went to luxe. Me and daughter had pedis, turned out ok. Nothing fancy. Then my niece and I got our nails done, she asked for healthy nails. They said they do them then performed a totally different service, she didnt say anything until we left or i would of confronted them. I just needed a fill. They did the thinnest layer of acrylic, filed it almost off then over painted with the shellac they made in the other room. The polish started curling that very night and was half off half my nails before the wedding the next day! I spent over $220 for the 3 of us and tipped!!!! Worst mani fill ever!!! Sorry I don't have a picture. They were so awful I never want to remember it. So disappointed! read more

Nails turned out great. I had Thé do shellac on my natural nails and he was very gentle. He cleaned everything right in front of me and gave me a great hand massage. Nice greeting when you walk in the door. Lovely decorated space with ample room. I had a pedicure my mother a manicure dip style nails. Both gentleman did a great job. We were given a punch card for a frequent visitor program 7 visits receive $25 off on your 8th visit. In celebration there was a 20% discount for our services today. Bare minimum for pedicures. The lady literally got her pumice stone out and scrubbed the bottom of my foot two times...& I paid for a higher tier pedicure. Save your money and go to another salon. NOT WORTH IT! read more

Very poor service if I could give 0 stars I would. What is the purpose of taking appointments when they are not honored. Made an appointment for my daughters birthday sat for over 45 minutes then when questioned they sat us in a chair only to soak feet in water another 30 minutes until the water turned cold. Now over an hour past our appointment time so we chose to leave than they run over and try to ask us not to leave. Ruined a special day with my daughter. This is the 2nd time I have left this place. The lady that did my nails, repeatedly smacked my hands & talked with her coworkers instead of paying attention to what she was suppose to be doing, She roughly filed my nails to the point some of my fingers bled & twisted my fingers to the point it hurt. My pedicure was perfect!! The person who did my nails was awful. Cut my cuticles open multiple times, kept smacking my hand, and rushed through the entire thing. The manager yelled at me in the middle of a full salon telling me that it's just how things are right now because I didn't make an appointment. Continued to ramble while he attempted to "fix" them, so I got up and left. If you want to go somewhere and be harassed then this is your place. Otherwise, I'd stay away. read more

well i do have to say I absolutely love lux nails, however #5 I cant recommend.. she was by far the roughest rudest nail tech I have ever had. She squeezed and twisted my fingers to the point they hurt the next day, I had nail dip on which needed removed and replaced on my real nails, which she filed so low down my nails are now brittle and broken. their response was to cut them down and start over.. she filed so much she was filing my skin near my cuticles which are bleeding. when i made a comment about how she was being it made it worse where she began to smack and hit my hands... my nails arent even completely covered with dip and when i let that be known she filed my nails even more... to pay $45 for a nail service im wanting them to be done correctly not be beat and tortured.. I look forward to my nail spa day and this woman ruined my day...PLEASE AVOID TABLE 5 read more

I will not ever go back to Lux. I have tried so many times to get my nails done there bc everyone has told me that's the best place in Jackson. Every set I've gotten from there has broken within the first few days. I always make appointments and am never seated at that time and it often seems like it doesn't matter if you make an appointment or not they'll sit walk-ins before appointments. Also last time I was sat down I picked a color and then changed my mind, my tech Kyo literally yelled at me across the salon to get a different bottle. I came on a Monday around noon, had no wait and they did an excellent job on my pedicure. I will definitely come back.

Poor quality. Poor service. 6 days ago, the female owner applied acrylic nails and that green-ish polish. My nails grow fast, so I came back for a fill. I called at 1030AM and they said the earliest available appt was for 2pm and that appts would be required today due to a shortage of staff. I showed up at 1:50pm to sign in and it wasn't until 2:15 that they had me seated and not until 2:30 that a man began working on my nails. He hurt me and he didn't use Cuticle oil or anything of the sort. He also was too lazy to fully remove the green polish (see photos where it is visible underneath). He put the new layer of acrylic on top of the green and then told me to wash my hands. I used the nail scrub, so I know how absurd his next statement was. He painted one layer of yellow and said, very loudly "you need to wash under your fingernails. We can see all the dirt and stuff up in there with a color like this". It wasn't dirt. It was the green. When he realized this, he didn't apologize. He simply demanded the receptionist grab another yellow so he could layer the nails. Bottom line, very poor customer service. It took over an hour (1:50pm-3:05pm) to complete a FILL of acrylic nails with standard paint. THEN he disrespected me publicly as a result of his unprofessional mistake and didn't even apologize. I was kind. The receptionist at the register asked about my visit and I said "he didn't remove the green, but it's fine. My nails grow fast anyways". The owner came over and said I had to pay extra for the proper removal of the green... She then discounted the service from $20 to $15 (which I what I normally pay elsewhere for a fill) and I still have a $3 tip. I am a generous tipper with small businesses but today was just ridiculously disappointing on so many levels. Even if my nails weren't yellow, this is a horrible quality paint job as well. I'm going to have to pay to have them repainted elsewhere. read more

Oh my god!!! Impressed is an understatement! I was lucky enough to have Kim as my nail tech and she absolutely killed it! Could not be happier with the way they turned out. A customer that arrived 30min after me... was attended to with pedicure.... before me... she did not have an appointment. I have been coming there since they opened and have spent a good deal of money there. I was displeased with the service I got as the man was rude.and did not do anything that other people had. He was very sloppy and never spoke a word when I questioned him. He only hurried thru the job.. I returned to talk to someone about it who basically said I was wrong and did not know what I was talking about..she only tried to get me to spend more money on something different as im sure they would not stand by either.... I was only getting a polish so I guess I was not spending enough money to have them even do a decent job.. Unbelievably bad service! From the young, rude girl at the counter to the nail tech that made two of my fingers bleed and a big toe - this was a horrible experience! We had our feet in ice cold water and then after they doused my fingernails in acetone and put my hands back in lap where I was sure would bleach my pant, they said they didn't have time to finish our nails! I recently opted for a basic manicure to give my nails a break and they were chipped the next morning without doing anything even remotely crazy. My daughter and I went to get manicures and pedicures. I asked before we started how long it would take. The girl said, Oh it shouldn't be too long ." We waited about 15 minutes and were taken to the pedicure chairs. We received our pedicures and thought we were ready for our nails to get done . I was only getting a basic manicure, while my daughter was getting a full set put on. After she was done they told her they had no time to do her nails because they were all tired and ready to go home to Lansing. I basically asked for a discount due to the inconvenience and never being told the service could not be completed. They refused to give a discount and never acknowledged they were wrong. I was given a nail tech who was working on 2 other customers. She sanded a little of my polish off and then was gone for 30 minutes giving a pedicure. I asked for my own nail tech as people who came after me were getting their nails done while I just sat there. No one seemed to care so after 45 minutes I got up and left with my nails partly sanded. Lux is clean and professional. My shellac manicure look great and was very affordable. The owner was accessible and the whole staff was very friendly. While I was there, another customer came in with an issue from last week and the owner quickly addressed her concern, while determining with his staff how to prevent it from happening again. I called for an appointment and asked about the prices for a regular set of gel nails and a light polish. I was told it would be $38. I thought okay, If they do a good job, $38 with a $10-$15 tip was okay. During the time I was being worked on, I decided to go with the French Nails. The cost was out of line....$55!!!! I did give the gal a $15 dollar tip, but who in the hell has $70 for nails every 3 weeks??? Not only that but an extra $17 for FRENCH NAILS? Sure, the place was nice. I got the feeling that the gal that was doing my nails didn't like me at ALL....I've had my nails done for years and due to being ill, I stopped getting my nails done for a little over a year. I was going to Beauty Factor, but was basically told "No, we can't see you because it's been so long since you've been here." Really? Their HIGH-PRICED nail salon is that much in demand they can't take a person has been housebound for a little over a year? Well, both Lux & Beauty Factor needs to realize that treating customers like I was treated will eventually bite you in the butt. I realize that rentals are high nowadays, but to charge a customer (that had I been treated right in EITHER salon) I would have been a very loyal customer. Personally with attitudes like both of these salons have, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if they both lost their A$$. I might not be ignored at the other cheaper salons in the area most likely...but I never will go back to either place, you can be sure of that. read more

I visited Lux just before I left for vacation. My pedicure polish never dried, even after I got a dip on my nails. It was a mess! The dip on my nails was lifting at the sides and bottom that night. I called ahead to verify they were open, they got us in with two people in AMAZING pedicures chairs. Asked for acrylic nails in the coffin shaped, even went in a second time to get them fixed. Both times I went in, a majority of my nails had air bubbles in the shellac. The shapes are way off, the color fades extremely fast and my acrylics have dents in them from the tools they use. I was fine with them because I have never gotten acrylics before but after talking to family, friends, and even strangers I'm told that they look terrible and that I should not have paid for them.
