Lots of spineless white people that only want your money and make a point of looking out for white people first. Black people are 7.2 times more likely to be cited for non-violent infractions in this city. Believe it and count on the cops coming up with more excuses than solving problems or making arrests when Black people are the victims. Non-White services have been great here however. From car repair, law offices, and food services, always having nice and friendly people that you'll make a point of seeing again and again. Nightlife leaves a lot to be desired.

Rainier!!)! The people are ridiculously nice, and having quite a few retirement communities & well regarded schools, Des Moines has a friendly & accessible social environment. Downtown Des Moines has a mix of new boutique restaurants & community owned stores. On the 4th on July there's a marina fireworks show & mid summer there's a truly charming parade, local carnival, & farmers market. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Des Moines to anyone as a great place to visit & an ever better place to live!

Auburn Library is one of those places that still feels genuinely useful, which sounds like a low bar until you realize how many public spaces forgot the assignment. It is quiet, comfortable, and actually set up in a way that makes it easy to focus. You can use the Wi-Fi, sit and work, read, or just be there for a minute if your day needs a softer landing. I notice lighting and flow everywhere I go, and this place works. Nothing feels fussy, nothing feels chaotic, and the whole setup makes staying a while feel easy. my daughter would be perfectly happy disappearing into a corner with a stack of books, and my son would need the usual pre-conversation about library volume, but that is a parenting issue, not a library issue. What I like most is that it still feels like a community space, not just a building that happens to hold books. Go if you need to get work done, need a quiet reset, or just want somewhere calm that does not ask anything from you.

It's an exclusively glorious part of Bellevue that reminds you how inferior your bank account balance is and gives you a glimpse of how the other half lives. That being said, if you should decide to take a walk through here on a sunny afternoon, you'll be treated to a tour of a permanent street....nay....neighborhood of dreams. Some of the most beautiful houses you've ever seen are here - and unlike the equally amazing mansions that exist over in Medina - here in Clyde Hill, they're all on display and can easily be seen without having a jump and fence and race away from guard dogs. The views from the top of Clyde Hill are spectacular. It's no wonder the houses cost what they do here. On a clear day, you can see all of Lake Washington, the entire Seattle skyline, and all framed by the Olympics in the background. Life is good here on the hill - no question. A word of advice though - don't even think about speeding through Clyde Hill. The cops here are always on the lookout and they'll get you if you're even 2 miles over. Oh, and they'll probably pull you over if your car is older than 1998 also. No reason. Just for driving an "older" car. (Seriously - heed my advice on this one.) The gas prices in Clyde Hill are a little over the top - but not as crazy as that Chevron station down on Main St. in Old Bellevue. And there's a very friendly Tully's location on the road that runs parallel to 520. By all means, take a tour through the Hill. Check out the beautiful houses and the incredible views. Just try not to look TOO suspicious, and ease up on the gas pedal. Trust me on this one.

Just so you know where Edgewood is, Edgewood is surrounded by Federal Way, Puyallup, and Milton. It's super small and really doesn't have much going on, but since it's in such close proximity to much more medium to large metro areas it appears that most people commute. It was only just incorporated 20 years ago, but people have been living there since dinosaurs roamed the earth...just kidding...well at least the Puyallup tribe has been their for quiet some time before the settlers. Otherwise, not much else to see here.

It's very much like a small city but very relaxing. There are local shops and malls. Air is very clean. It's a very nice suburb. What I find very interesting about Puyallup is downtown and then South Hill. South Hill is filled with malls, shopping galore and housing developments all living with ginormous Douglas Fir Trees. The way I would describe South Hill would be very contemporary and modern that anyone in the fast life would enjoy. On the other hand, downtown is a completely different story! Strolling downtown the feel is extremely different. It feels like a small town down there with shops still lining the streets like they did a hundred years ago, farms, cute homes, no "cookie-cutter" ones that are being built, and is an adorable area. It's awesome to have the best of both worlds! PROS: 1) The Sounder train that runs through downtown that commutes workers to and from Seattle everyday which is extremely convenient. 2) The school district is AMAZING! All the schools are clean, teachers and administrators are kind and generally want the best in kids. The schools are gorgeous and some of them (such as Meeker Elementary) are a hundred years old yet still keep some of the originals' roots such as the hardwood floors original used in classrooms. 3) Overall, it's an incredible place to raise a family. You can feel safe letting your teens roam around. There's also a lot of teen and tween safe places (ie: Elements Frozen Yogurt, Puyallup Public Library, Anthem Coffee and Tea). 4) There is some nightlife! There are bars and some great places for some adult-time! 5) There's amazing hole-in-the-wall restaurants like Trackside Pizza, Crockett's, among others. 6) The Washington State Fair brings visitors from all over the country to Puyallup and it's just an amazing time! The list is infinite. I just don't have hours to write them all....lol :) CONS: 1) Meridean is poorly constructed. Traffic is a big, fat, pain in the booty! It needs to be widened or something because this isn't working. 2) Puyallup is a growing city, and with a flourishing city comes crime, and I cannot honesty say it isn't on a rise. Of course, this isn't at an alarming rate, but it is there. Puyallup is astounding. I've fallen in love with this suburb, and I don't think I will ever be able to leave :)

The employees are welcoming and knowledgeable. The lady who had helped me sign up for a library card shared with me all the benefits that come along with it. There are clean restrooms by the entrance before entering the final doors into the library. It's quite updated inside with tables, high chairs, and study desks for people who enjoy more privacy. During that time, you could place your books on hold and schedule a pick up time. My favorite part was that I could add a 'surprise bag' of books for my toddler, and they would set aside 10 awesome selections. Such a time saver! Granted, it's not the biggest branch, but I can always have any book sent here and held for pick up if I don't mind waiting. Overall, an awesome library!
