We had a great time walking around downtown denton and decided to try out Graffiti Pasta. This…read moreplace is small and we beat the lunch rush hour to be able to grab a seat at the bar. It's has a great look and they played 90s alternative music videos which added to this review. I ordered their red wine and stuffed mushrooms $11. It was baked crimini mushrooms stuffed with house made whipped ricotta and italian bread crumbs with creamy pesto. I'll just say this was the perfect app/meal for one. It paired so well with my red wine. Fo For our main we ordered chicken spaghetti bake $17.50. It consisted of fresh house-made spaghetti baked with house roasted chicken, white cheddar cream sauce, calabrese chili peppers, italian pico, five cheese blend. Wish we had looked a litte harder on this selection. We thought it was a chicken Alfredo. So this is defintley packed with cheese, more of a Mac and cheese bake. Everything was good! The john McClain was a bit too much for me with the egg but happy was able to try it! I would love to come back and try more off the menu!

I never heard of this festival until my friend practically pretty much kidnapped and took me here…read more I honestly wasn't expecting much since it's located in Denton, but man was I wrong. They don't showcase as many vendors as they do at the Taste of Addison or Taste of Dallas festivals, but you're not going to get more bang for you buck. So it basically goes like this. You pay $15 bucks ($10 if you're a student) which gives you license to eat to your hearts desire. No paying additional money at the stalls! So you're basically at the biggest buffet that you've ever seen. Then you get an alcohol wrist band that give you two alcoholic beverages which range from anything to a cup of local beer to a Coronarita. There are ways to get past the two drink limit, but I'll leave that for you to figure out. There were 31 sponsors for the 2013 event, most which offered food or free swag. I pretty much stocked up on a whole new set of koozies at this event. Not being from Denton I liked the idea that I could try foods from that community. You still have your big chain restaurants like Texas Roadhouse and Hooter's, but there's was a lot of things I have never tried. If all else fails you can just keep hitting up the Texas Roadhouse booth and get their ribs. The event is held inside the coliseum where the UNT basketball teams play and the surrounding parking lots are open for you to use free of charge. Oh, you're also helping the Denton Kiwanis Club so even if you end up not liking the food at least you can feel good about yourself for helping raise funds for a great organization!

I've had this event marked on my Calendar since January. So, The Kiwanis Club of Denton is an organization that provides low-cost/no-cost medical, dental, and prescription assistance to disadvantaged children in the northern Denton County area through its Children's Clinic-- a network of dedicated local health care providers. The Clinic is supported by fundraising activities that involve the entire community in fun, service and fellowship-- This event was the 25th Annual Taste of North Texas and you pay $15 to enter the UNT Coliseum and eat as much food/drink as many drinks as you can... AND it all goes to a good Cause! Here are some Restaurants that participated in 2014-- I love seeing this list grow every year. Ben E. Keith Budweiser -- A whole section dedicated to beers & fun activities for the family. Drink responsibly :P Ben E. Keith Foods -- Original Tart yogurt with many different toppings, AND cheesecake bites! Beth Marie's Ice Cream -- Oh man, Denton's sweetheart of ice cream shops. Got to try as many scoops of flavors as I wanted as well as chose between a cone or cup. Candy Haven -- Delicious Cupcakes, this year was the simple white or chocolate cake-- the icing was fluffy! The Candy Store -- Different types of chocolates, candies, and coffee flavors to take in. Cartwright's Ranch House -- Davis Purity Bakery -- Small cookies and dessert items El Guapo's -- One of my favorites of the evening-- they do a special queso with mixed beef, avocado, tomatoes at the table then pour it over their freshly made tortilla chips. ALSO there's fajitas where you can garnish with whatever toppings you want. Fire in the Hole Pizza -- I didn't get to try this tonight but tried it in 2013 and this was also one of my favorite stands with their Wood-Oven truck that's portable! Freebirds World Burrito -- A great salad bowl with delicious made-to-order toppings. Frilly's Seafood Bayou Kitchen -- BOILED CRAWFISH! CRAWFISH! and corn. AND CRAWFISH! Horny Toad Cafe & Bar -- Oh man.. sampled the chicken fried steak with gravy & green chile, creamed corn, and mashed potatoes-- DEFINITELY a winner! The actual store has many different ones to try! La Milpa -- Taco & Queso bar! (I actually love hosting events at La Milpa) Lucy's Mom's on Main (Aubrey) -- Fresh Chocolate Chip Cookies & Chicken Salad-- a bit on the sweeter side McAlister's Deli -- SWEET TEA! UNSWEET TEA! HALF & HALF-- THANKS! Mellow Mushroom -- Pizzas to try, the lines were always long Miller of Denton -- Thank you :) NV Cupcakes -- Cute little mini cupcakes to try, they ran out fast so I didn't get to have one, but I'm sure it was absolutely great! Oak Street Draft House -- Beers and lots of beers. Gave out great prizes and I won a t-shirt :) Palio's Pizza Cafe -- Loved the many pizzas to sample Rudy's BBQ -- Sausages & Chopped Beef and your choice of Rudy's Sause or Sissy Sause! Smiling Moose Deli -- Many different sandwiches to sample and they focus on catering for large parties Smoothie King -- Strawberry & Banana Smoothies :) Texas Roadhouse - Fall off the bone Ribs, beans, AND entertainment with the ladies two-stepping to grab your attention :) TWU Catering Services -- Mediterranean themed meal tonight with gyros and falafel's, 2013's was Asian food, yumm. ++MANY more restaurants, these are the ones I tried this year. Overall a great evening for all ages, bring the family and friends for this unique event. The prices are $15 for Adults, $10 for Students/Military/Seniors -- wish more people knew about this event. Parking is free at Fouts Field which is the huge parking lot next to the Coliseum. Happy eating/drinking/feeling good about helping out a great cause :)
