Isleton seems poverty stricken, very poor, some businesses, restaurants and shops. Many storefronts are closed. I've heard it's not doing well fiscally so when I'm down there I like to contribute to the economy. It's a fun place to take photos, grab a drink or meal. There is a dispensary off the main drag, a brewery, hair and nail salon, art, seconds hand store and more. Isleton has two big events each year, the Spam Festival and the Crawdad Festival. They draw quite a few visitors especially people with motorcycles and muscle cars. Lots of parking. read more

This town is SO cute! So many bridges, boat storage areas, and farms with vineyards etc.! The drive over here is really to die for when you're a traveling maniac like me LOL! The bridges all the times I've been here have never needed to rise. Next time they will since I said that haha. Unfortunately the water has dried up ALOT even out towards Sacramento since we have last been here. In about 1-2 years , the water has significantly decreased and it's a sad thing to see. Places look a lot drier and different in the surrounding area now also! So many beautiful animals fly past to head out to the water. So many ducks , and not many places to go down by the river so we don't usually stop ! They have some places to pull off and let people go but not many and some people ride your butt so close on this tiny road it kind of sucks. Especially when you're just trying to enjoy your drive. They have quite a few stores for a tiny little town. Met a few friends here at a corner store once. Helped this girl get some wifi to get to her directions because she was lost. And Sean on a bike lost something and both stopped in this gas station we made friends. Never saw them again. If you see this either one of you , you are MISSED wish I could find you again! This town could use a lot of political and legal help. A very shady place to live in. They want to make my mother homeless. She bought a a piece of land that was over run in weeds. My parents bought this place in hopes of eventually retiring and making this little place a home. My father passed away which in turn changed plans. With the little money my mother had she had the property cleaned up and bought a fifth wheel to put on the property. If you drive by you can see how clean and nice it looks compared to the town itself. Well that wasn't enough to for the city they have harassed her over and over for her fifth wheel. As if their trashy looking city wasn't enough for them to work on. There is an extreme abuse of power by the city officials. They have threatened to disconnect my mothers electrical power. Very sad that they feel the need to harass a widow with Zero means. read more

I wish someone rich, or the state of California, could swoop in an save this little town. Almost all buildings on the Main Street are vacant. All buildings look run down. There is little to do here but walk up and down the street. It's an old town, but it needs to give people a reason to not only stop, but to stay! read more

Isleton is adorable. A tiny little Delta town along the 160....you might miss it if you blink too slow. It's right on the river, and the downtown area is old-fashioned looking, so driving through is scenic. Stop in to Isleton Joe's for a beer and a crawdad melt if you have the time! read more

Save this town!!!!! I love this whole town it is filled with such wonderful historical buildings and some pretty good food. Come here and spend your money. This town is worth it. Stay at the hotel, grab a meal, each some crawdads..... read more
