Ah, the venerable Lodi library. Despite wacky hours, LPL mostly gets the job done. Nice job on the online services. If you have a little one you must check out the read to a dog program. Yes, a dog is trained to pretend to listen as they read. Great way to encourage kids to read.

Hours posted online are wrong, making this post to correct them. I LOVE this library but I feel like they're not open at convenient times (especially since I'm off Fridays).

When I told my client where we visited, she basically said "you went all the way to NorCal to visit…read moreStockton?!" And ya, that's when I realized I messed up lol. Honestly, absolutely no offense what so ever. But I think it takes a certain type of person to be able to endure this area. The student leading the tour said it's basically farming types surrounding. Small population, lots of open space, not much activity. Even though we're islanders, we're not made for that. I did like the campus size, geographically and population. Easy to get around, easy to get to know school mates. But if you're not a complete home body, I'm sure it could get old real quick. All the students we encountered were great. Friendly, helpful, engaging. We were in contact with the admission counselor prior to our visit. He made it a point to reach out personally since he is from our home town. He also came in during his time off to meet with us IRL. Gave us great advice/info. We knew right away this wouldn't be the right fit. All that to say, still everything is really nice. We did catch quite a bit of groups there for photos. Amazing scenery makes it quite popular for the gram I guess.

Deeply Disappointing Experience with Admissions A Program That Talks About Values It Doesn't…read morePractice I applied to the University of the Pacific's MSW program and was struck by the profound disconnect between the values the program claims to uphold and the way it actually treats applicants. Despite having strong recommendations, relevant experience, and a clear academic record, I encountered a process defined by bureaucratic opacity and inconsistent communication. When I attempted to clarify basic questions about my file including documentation that staff indicated would be placed in my record I was met with defensiveness, stonewalling, and vague assertions that my inquiries themselves were inappropriate. Escalating to leadership did not improve transparency. In fact, the further up the hierarchy I went, the more I encountered condescension masked as professionalism. The admissions process felt less like a fair evaluation and more like a gatekeeping exercise to test whether I would simply defer to inconsistent procedures without question. Ironically, this was exactly the sort of inequitable system the field of social work teaches practitioners to challenge. In the end, I was not offered admission. If you value clear communication, mutual respect, and a student-centered process, I encourage you to look elsewhere. There are many CSWE-accredited programs that take their stated mission seriously and treat prospective students with basic dignity.
