A tiny little library, way out there and across from the river. There have been a few times that a…read morebook I was looking for had made it's way out to this location. It's a nice excuse to enjoy a drive past the ducks and landscapes to pick it up. The librarians there have been welcoming and eager to help. The whole place is one room of books, with a new nonfiction and fiction section. There is a "research" shelf with books on the history of the area and a stack of binders with the history of the library. As it's a small spot, little on places to sit, but there is a park nearby. A children's table is surrounding by a good selection of picture books, and the statue of the little girl reading while laying on her stomach is quite cute!

My 3 year old grand-daughter attends the yoga classes with Miss Gabi and the kids get way more than…read moreyoga. They're taught listening, behaving, taking turns, friendship, appreciation and a calm rarely seen in any 3 year old. The instructor is patient yet firm and in a kind way. I think the kids are getting so much more than just the yoga. This program could be in every schools curriculum and be beneficial!!

I had…read moreto get back in my car drive a few blocks away to the police department which was only labeled by the police cars in the lot. For the new welcoming place for all parking permits it's remarkably unlabeled and not easy to find. Don't go to the main doors of the building go down to what seems to be a lower level area to find the police department. Also write down your license plate number yo save yourself a trip back to your car. I love that everyone just kept saying sorry new rules. Library visits require a visit to the police station. Someone call the firemen.

Recently, I spent a few hours here and it's a great little library, so I can now share my experience. So this is a smaller branch of the Yolo County Libraries (maybe the South Davis and other rural ones I've not checked out are smaller, we'll see). Though small, it is a solid library that has a lot to offer. Pros: - not too busy, you can actually find quiet here on most days esp. in the mornings when kids are in school during the school year and seems they don't frequent much in the summer either, according to the wife - plenty of books. They really have maximized the space usage. Quite impressively so. - kids section is in the (former) "garage" of this house. Yes, this library is basically a house that was donated/purchased. - HUGE backyard, with a covered patio/gazebo and some benches. This outdoors space is perfect for hanging out back there for some peaceful book reading. You can eat out there too. - Events: they put on quite a bunch of events that are family friendly and kids focused. Pretty good programming by the library staff here. - Friendly library staff who were quite helpful. - Summer reading program. They give kids books when they join the summer reading challenge. Motivates them to read during their long summer break. - Clean bathrooms. Not big, but more than sufficient. Cons: - limited hours - only open Tuesday-Thursday and watch the hours. - 2 computers only to reserve and use. - smaller, so you might not find the book you're looking for, but you can request and have it get sent here. - sounds echo quite a bit in a library that's a house, bring headphones if you need to do work or need quiet to read - limited spaces to sit and read, only a window seat in the adults area, and a desk for working, but there are plugs for your charging needs. - kids area can get rowdy (expectedly), but the sounds will carry throughout, not much you can do about that, and that side is a converted garage, so it's noticeably hotter b/c it seems less insulated. All in all, a solid and sufficient library that really serves the Clarksburg community well, and that we're glad we can enjoy too.

This Yolo county library is only opened on Tuesday through Thursday, and the hours are more limited, but it does only till 7 pm (10 am opening on Tuesday and Thursday, 1 pm on Wednesday). According to the librarian and a brochure, this house was purchased in 1965 by the Friends of the Library to create a library in this little town, and is owned by the Friends of the Library and rented out to Yolo county which is a rare and special arrangement these days. The house/library itself isn't big, but it's layout very efficiently and organized well so that it does have a meaningful collection of books, especially kids and teen books. There's a computer area for teens to hang out in, and children have their special section too. There's also a kitchen, and a meeting room that can be rented out for special events or even private parties. Additionally, the backyard is HUGE and well kept, and there's plenty of trees in the back so it's well shaded and you could have a little picnic or snack in the back or sit out front on the bench and watch cars drive by and kids bike along this main road leading into the town. There's a church across the street and several schools nearby caddy corner so it's a safe area. Overall, it felt like we got transported back in time to a simpler, happier, slower, and more carefree world the moment we drove into Clarksburg and entered this library. Both the librarian and library assistant were helpful and kind. I got my Yolo county library card and signed my kids and myself up for the summer reading program. We had a good time hanging out with a couple of local teens here and my kids made friends with them. We are glad we finally visited this library and we plan to be back!

It can be a bit loud with chatter, cell phone usage, tutoring, etc. If you can focus on what you're working on with audible distractions it's a great place to go for reading, projects, etc. Otherwise bring ear plugs. There are also comfy cushioned chairs for sitting. There is an information desk in the middle of the room for assistance and suggestions. The bathroom is clean and well stocked. Plenty of parking and restaurants nearby if you need to go eat.

Unlike other libraries in the…read morearea, they have cubicles with power outlets to charge your electronics while you study (I haven't seen these since I was an undergrad in college). This feature is essential for me since I don't need any distractions while I study. The library is quiet, for the most part, however, there are occasional rowdy kids and adults that want to talk on their phones very loudly at times. I highly recommend bringing noise-canceling headphones if you plan on coming here to study or get work done. The building is quite spacious and has a good selection of books and computers to use. I have yet to rent a book here, so I'll likely update my review when I do. Overall, I really like the Mitchell Memorial Library and will be visiting it again in the near future.

Fun place for photos, to get an ice cream cone, have breakfast, watch the activity on the river and my favorite is to people watch and rate pictures. Walnut Grove has always meant something to me. My family history is tied here and I've also worked…read moreon the farms, so this isn't just a random Delta stop for me. What I love about Walnut Grove is that it still feels like itself. The old buildings, the weathered doors, little homes with porches and flowers, longtime spots like Tony's. You can walk the streets and actually feel the history instead of it being turned into something polished and commercial. There's art in the windows, quiet streets off Market, palm trees dropping fruit onto the sidewalk, and that calm Delta air that makes everything slow down a little. It's not flashy and it doesn't try to be. It's just authentic. And that's rare now. If you like small towns with real character and history, Walnut Grove is worth the drive.

Morada...it seems like a world away from Stockton…read more Even though it's right on the outskirts of Stockton it seems like you don't worry quite as much about things like crime. Your neighbors tend to look out for you and they actually know you by name. I can only hope it stays this way for a long time to come. :0)

From 7 years at Davis School, to the old Morada Market and it's wonderful service and deli. Morada Little League is simply the best place to play baseball as a kid. Played more than 10 years of ball at those hallowed fields east of 99! All my best friends are from these streets, and Morada will always be my home!
