PROS: Henry and his team did an amazing job for painting the exterior of my house. During the estimate, we discussed different paints for brick after I told him I already bought paint from Sherwin Williams. He mentioned a mineral paint for brick so that it doesn't seal in any moisture. After a ton of research, we concluded his recommendation made sense and he seemed very knowledgeable in his assessment. We decided to use the mineral paint and his team of two guys powerwashed and painted two coats in 4.5 days. They were very diligent and precise when working around wires/cables and did an amazing job painting around a fence. They even pulled down a rose vine on the house, painted behind it, and then put the rose vine back. The team also removed the downspouts, painted, and put them back on afterwards (anything broken during the process was fixed and replaced). Henry was also very careful in inspecting the house afterwards to make sure the job was up to his standards. CONS: Henry did not include an estimate to paint a second chimney in the initial estimate because he did not see it, but he added that to the final cost. It's a small oversight, but given that I asked him to also paint a very small section in the house, we agreed to a smaller charge which I thought was fair. SUMMARY: I got quotes from several contractors, and while City Painters were not the cheapest, they were fair in price and the only ones familiar with using a mineral paint for brick. I will most likely use them again for other future projects and will update my review accordingly. read more

His estimate was the lowest of the painters we contacted. He then reached out to us when there was a chance to start our work early, before he'd be booked with a long project. His friendly team completed the work in three days with care. They checked with us about any ambiguities but also made excellent choices about color matching and patching a few holes in joints. We recently hired City Painters to remove popcorn ceiling from our newly purchased town home. They gave us the most competitive quote and started the job the next day. I had my Living room and Bedroom painted a few weeks ago by Selvin and his partner and the outcome was brilliant! They arrived at 8AM and immediately began taping the baseboard and covering my furniture. We didn't have much furniture in the room and already had it in the center of the room (as we had just moved in), but everything was still properly draped and covered (I have cream colored carpets in the bedroom and they were spotless when they left.) They worked diligently all throughout the morning and finished the living room and bedroom, including prep, paint, and cleanup, before 3PM. Had a great experience with City Painters. The Estimator arrived early and took care to note and evaluate our needs. He was thorough and we were provided with an quote the next day. The painting crew was awesome - the lead took the time to explain what he was doing and to explore various options and paint types with us. He even saved us money by letting us know that we could return the primer we'd purchased and was able to use some paint left behind by other contractors so we wouldn't have to purchase additional paint. Found City Painters after week or so of yelp research and met with Selvin for an estimate. Selvin's knowledge and explanations, to someone who was painting a house for the very first time, were great. His estimate was absolutely reasonable for the amount of work and he was great at staying in touch throughout the entire estimate process. I ended up choosing a finish of paint that sounded better than it ended up looking. He was great and they were able to accommodate the paint change mid work with staying very close to the original estimate.
