We were very satisfied! The job involved painting the following areas/rooms in our house: 2 story entry foyer, staircase, downstairs hallway, upstairs hallway, powder room, living room, dining room, kitchen and family room, (a pretty big job). We also had an old back-splash removed and a new tile back-splash installed in the kitchen. Here are the positives we want to share: - Henry was quick to set up our estimate meeting, prepare the estimate and answer questions we had about the estimate. The communication before and during the job was excellent, we did not have any mix-ups on the work that was done. Job duration was estimated to take 5 to 6 days and they were done with the work after 6 days. - Giovanni and his crew were very careful to cover our newly refinished wood floors and our furniture so that nothing was damaged during the job. They thoroughly prepared the surfaces for painting, fixing many blemishes that the walls had. The trim and woodwork was all in white and where their surface meets the colored paint on the walls everything is nice and crisp, no smears or drips/blotches. The same is true where the ceiling white meets the colored wall surfaces. The tile back-splash in the kitchen turned out beautiful. The staircase had a lot of detail work done because we painted surfaces that were previously stained wood. Surfaces needed to be primed with oil base primer and lots of spindles needed to be carefully painted so that where they meet the dark stained tread of the staircase everything was neat and crisp. - Henry pitched in at the end of the job and helped Giovanni and his team check all the work, touch things up where needed and get everything cleaned up. Again, my wife and I were very happy with the job City Painters did and would absolutely consider hiring them for future work. read more

The short version: These guys are great. The estimators/project managers are courteous, helpful, well-organized, and efficient. The crews are hard-working, detail-oriented and quick. Couldn't be happier! The long version: I first hired Selvin and crew from City Painters to--you guessed it--paint my newly-installed baseboards and trim, and two bedrooms in my condo. They did the most crisp paint lines I've ever seen, and touched up additional walls that weren't even in my proposal at no extra charge. They were done in two days for a rather large job, and the place looked immaculate when they were done. A few weeks later, the contractor who installed the baseboards and trim flaked on me the day he was supposed to return to install the shoe molding. I had my mother in town and already taken off work, so it needed to be done--ASAP. I reached out to Selvin to see if he knew anyone who might be able to do it. He got his colleague's crew out THE SAME AFTERNOON to do the work. They even stopped by Home Depot to get the materials on their way, saving me a trip. I had such an amazing experience with City Painters! Henry and his colleague did an amazing job reconstructing my bathroom! They beautifully completed my bathroom floor, installed a new bathtub wall surround, and shower head, and meticulously fixed some rotten wood behind the bathtub, installed a brand new toilet, and did a wonderful job cleaning up after themselves. The team was very reliable, on time, and always responded promptly to calls and messages. Henry and his colleague went above and beyond with my bathroom and even when I selected the wrong tub and wall surround, Henry went out of his way to return it and repurchase a correct one! They brought in receipts so that I knew what had been purchased. Everything went very smoothly and my bathroom was completed within a few days as promised! We had a small job in a bathroom that had 25 year old paper. City Painters was the third quote we received, and actually the only one in which I felt confident. It was a nasty job. Another professional came to the house and never sent me a quote. I think he was scared of the job. These guys were reliable, personable and prompt. After viewing the job, the quote came in as promised and we negotiated the contract and the timing of the job via email and text. Very easy and professional. The worker showed up on time with two copies of the contract and went to work. He was very fast and did such a beautiful job. He actually did more work (extra caulking) than I originally asked for.
